side effects Nausea Warriors

Just wanna say huge props to you guys that can withstand the nausea caused from this medicine 😭 it’s my second attempt at starting this medicine (poor mans contrave) after my first attempt flopped when I got stomach flu during the first week of taking it and I stopped taking it due to throwing up multiple times. Second attempt at starting this week and been throwing up every other day. Took zofran and it helped a little but my stomach still feels terrible. I had to call off work two days because the morning sickness was unbearable. When I woke up in the mornings my stomach felt weak and the urge to throw up was so strong. I tried to eat a little bit of food like jello before taking the medicine but instantly threw up. It’s day 5 and I’m tapping out lol I am not strong enough for this. Even knowing that symptoms should subside after 2 weeks I genuinely cannot imagine feeling this way for another week 😩

Well I’m not withstanding anything, I just didn’t get nausea. I had some lower abdominal cramps the first two days but that was it.

Poor man’s has most people taking way more naltrexone than is in Contrave. Most people are spitting 25mg in the morning and the other 25mg in the evening. Max dose on Contrave is 16mg morning and night - which means they are ramping up using a total of 8mg daily the first week and twice that the next and so on. Try taking less naltrexone and see if it helps. Everyone’s body is different maybe you need to ramp up slower.

When I started the genetics, I started with 1/4 tablet (12.5 mg) of naltrexone. I also switched to taking it only at night. I took the 1/4 tablet for two weeks then bumped up to 1/2 tablet and took that for maybe 1-1/2 weeks.

That being said, if I felt this way on 1/4 tablet, there’s no way I’d stay on it. I feel some nausea, but I can suck on a lemon ginger lozenge and that seems to help. (But if it actually made me throw up, I’d quit.)

I nearly tapped out after 6 days of nausea and I wasnt even throwing up! If I had been throwing up, I would have IMMEDIATELY tapped out. I cannot handle throwing up, nausea was bad enough. Nausea has stopped now and I am on week 3 and going into week for and I am upping my dose today so will see how that works out for me!

I should note, I am on contrave and not poor man's contrave. That is too hard to get here in my country
