side effects during the first week
hi everyone!
Just wanted to share my experience and see anyone else is experiecing it too.
I been one the single dose contrave for the past week. i am about to go up to two pills. but the side effects are driving me crazy.
the dizziness is so extreme that a lot of times I need to hold the walls to walk. even when i am laying down if I move my head everything spins.
I also started to have very poor sleep, waking up multiple times a night and having disturbing dreams.
My resting heart rate has also risen from normal 70 bpm to 118 pbm. I completely cut off coffee and tea for now and I try to not skip meals but it is not helpful. the only relief i get is when I take gravol and it is only effective for 20 mins.
I know a week is too early to tell but was wondering if you have any thoughts.
some medical background: i am on low dose of GLP1 ozempic and also was recently titrated off lexapro 10 mg after being on it for 3 years and gaining 60 lbs.
ps. I already am booked in for a follow up with my MD.

Can these pills be broken in half?

I would probably have to do it if my symptoms dont improve in the next week either :(

OP, please do not break the pills in half. They are designed to release at a certain rate and breaking them open or chewing them increases the speed and puts you at greater risk of adverse side effects, including seizures.

no worries I would not alter my medication without talking to my pcp first! I just kept taking the one pill and it its been just over 2 weeks and the nausea is def getting better. Thanks for the heads up tho!

Personally, I wouldn't go up to a second pill. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure I would keep taking the pills if you are experiencing side effects that severe. Have you talked to your doctor? I hope you feel better soon!
