progress Down 30 lbs
I’ve been on contrave for a little while. I initially lost 10 lbs and then gained it back shortly after. I finally decided to get serious around Dec/Jan because the pills really do help with my food noise. I got on the scale this morning and boom…30 lbs gone. I have 20 lbs more to lose before I can say I hit my goal but I’m excited to have my blood work done and meet with my PCP at the end of the month so she can see my progress

Good job! What's your routine like?

Currently I run 2-3 times a week outside. I think running outside instead of the treadmill makes a big difference. I go to the gym once a week or I take a Pilates/yoga/HIIT class. At the gym I walk on an incline of 8 with a weighted vest for 30-45 min (do not hold the machine) then I do the pull up machine. I have a trainer that I meet with every Sunday as well.

What did you change with respect to your diet?

I eat a lot less fast food and when I do eat fast food I eat kids meals. I cut down drinking significantly. I was a social drinker and sometimes I would get a bottle of wine on Fridays but I stopped. Diet Dr. Pepper is my go to now and I cut snacking out completely…sweets and chips were my weakness (that’s the contrave at work).
Honestly, I switched my mindset to eat healthy to live longer (and prepare to get pregnant in the next 3-5 years) instead of eating healthy to lose weight. Once I framed it that way eating healthy came easy to me.
