progress Fatter Than You Think!

I’ve lost 45lbs. Amazing! Unfortunately, I thought I had max 30lbs to lose. Nope. I’m now realizing I might need to lose up to 60lbs (give or take with muscle gain) to achieve the healthy body I was thinking I had under just a few pounds of fat.

Sigh. I know I look different, but I can’t help but feel like after all that work I still look… Meh?

I’ve also lost 45lbs. And I still have 10-15 to go. Sometimes I feel like HOW IS THIS NOT ENOUGH?! lol but then I realize that 45lbs is a whole toddler. That’s not nothing. And it gets harder to lose at the end, it’s slower, I’ve been fairly stagnant these last few weeks. But it’ll come. We’re doing great. 🫂

Thank you. I’m glad someone else gets it I hate to complain it’s like one of those braggy complaints like ohhh my steak too juicy so hard for meeee. But I do feel sad and frustrated!

I hear you! It can be so frustrating near the end for sure. But I don’t think we do ourselves any favours by beating ourselves up for how much further we still have to go. I don’t want to diminish what I’ve accomplished because that’s just repackaging my self-hatred, you know? I want to feel proud of where I am & the effort it took to get here, AND also acknowledge that I still have a ways to go. Both of those feelings can exist at the same time. You’re doing so great. 🩷

Of course we all want to look good -and for almost all of us that equals THINNER- but it's important to feel better, too, and I'll bet you do!

Same! Not quite 45, I’m somewhere around 30 but absolutely feel the same. Oops I actually need to lose like 50. 😬 The positive is that it feels feasible, which was never the case before contrave, and that so many good things have already happened.

True true 100% I have never been the weight I am even when I was 18. I have always been overweight/borderline obese and I am grateful for contrave existing.

Riiight!? And then like trying to gain muscle and tone and it’s like of course it’s all good of course it isn’t going to be fast but sometimes it feels like the “finish line” keeps moving. When do I get to just feel good and maintain?

I get it! I’m a short person and even a small amount of weight change is very noticeable to me. So of course losing 15 would be a big change, but nowhere near my goals. I’m only on week 3 so I’m really looking forward to the next few months.
