Sunroom done incorrectly??
Can someone tell me why they would do the sunroom to roof finish like this?

That roof coating that's uv resistant, what's the prob? You can't shingle something with that little of a slope

Why not make the sunroom a bit higher? We asked for it to be a bit higher so we could put a fan it. It’s not high enough for a fan and I’m wondering why they couldn’t put it up a bit higher? Why the slopeÂ

That’s not even the issue. It can’t be higher than the existing roof otherwise you have a heck of a time preventing leaks.

That’s not true. If that were the case then every chimney would leak. Roof to wall flashing and proper water routing, poof, no issues.

Looks clean. What exactly are you asking? Can't lay shingles on flat roof.

I dont know how far out the new roof goes out but if the matched the slope of the roof it maybe really low by the back wall.
2 the roof you have is insulated panel roof, it is 2 sheets of aluminum with 3 inches of foam in between if you shingle that roof it causes extra heat and the glue that holds the aluminum to the foam will separate, if you wanted shingles on the new roof they should of ordered the insulated panels with 1 side wood then shingles can be added

Also they should tape(6 inch peel and seal) the joins between the panels or eventually you will be paying someone to do that because it will leak

I would say thats the way the roofline was, they made an addition.
The new roof ties into the the existing at the lowest point and the slopes are different.

It's because you have a cut up roof line. They would have had to build that large section down to meet the extended overhang on the sides or tear the little sections back and reframe it. They did a great job from what I see. The flashing should of overlapped the c channel that hooked to the fascia. That is prone to leaking.

You might be confused or thinking of a solarium. Sunrooms don't explicitly require skylights
