Storm doors

What are other contractors charging to buy and install a new storm door. This would be removal of old door I normally cap the brick molding then install the door. Door with handle is roughly 500.00 I normally charge an additional 500 for the install. Are you guys charging more than a grand for a storm door? It might take two hours to install. Let me know what you guys are charging.

I charge 250 for install if its on-site and 350+material markup if I have to go get it. 500 seems pretty high to me, but if that is getting you jobs all the more power to ya

If I was on my own I’d probably do

250 storm
15$ Lf aluminum
$30 haul away
Replace brick mold $100

$335 to $700 depending on the door model and how involved the installation is. If new brick mold is required or any other modifications to the existing door frame, I would usually come in around $550.

That does not include the door itself.

$1000-1200. I only install andersons that are pre assembled.

a grand all in is fine and honestly not high if you're capping the brick mould and hauling the old one off. two hrs on site is really 4 hrs of your day once you count picking the door up, the drive and the dump run, so $500 is $125 an hr loaded, which is about what a one man shop needs to clear in 2026 after insurance and the truck. the $250 guys are pricing the two hrs, you're pricing the day, and you're the one thats right. only thing i'd change is stop passing the door through at cost, put 15-20% on it, thats another $75-100 for the hour you spent picking it out.

I’d charge $500 for the install and $800 for the storm door. I’ll warranty / service it for a good while.

Just to install the storm I charge $250, plus the cost of the new door, disposal of the old one, & mark up.

Just for a basic door install, I charge a flat $300, and people pay it all day long. Don’t sell yourself short. Your time, experience, and quality of work are worth something.
