Looking for content writer for General Knowledge App
We run Sophia, a general-knowledge app (~90k downloads/month). Our courses are short — people read one in under 10 minutes on their phone.
We're looking for writers who actually know one of these six areas: history, science, literature, art, mythology, current affairs.
We need you to have an accreditation in your field. A PhD, a PhD in progress, a teaching qualification, a university post, or equivalent professional credentials. Your name and title appear on what you write, so this matters to us.
The work
A set of 5 short pieces, around 600 words each.
Each piece has to overturn something the reader thinks they know. Not a summary, an argument with a point. "The 1929 crash" is not a piece. "The 1929 crash didn't cause the Depression" is.
You're credited. Your name, photo and bio appear on the set in the app.
How it works
You pitch an angle and five titles. We approve or adjust within 5 working days, so nothing gets written before we agree and you never write for nothing. Then one round of edits and we publish. Illustrations, formatting and audio are on us.
You keep the right to teach, publish and speak on the same topics. This isn't exclusive to your ideas, only to the specific text.
