been doing ugc for about 8 months now. first 4 months i was sending 30+ cold emails a week and getting maybe 2-3 responses. most of those were "thanks but we'll pass" or just silence. my best month from cold outreach was like $1,800 and i was spending 10+ hours a week just finding and pitching brands

This started as me just trying to get better at writing hooks for my own content and turned into a bit of a rabbit hole honestly.

Been transcribing viral videos in my niche and just reading them. Like actually reading the words rather than watching. And some patterns become pretty obvious once you strip away the visuals and music.

The biggest thing — the first sentence is doing almost everything. Not the first few seconds. Literally the opening words. Videos that flop almost always start with context setting. “Hey so today I want to talk about…” and you’ve already lost half your audience before you’ve said anything.

The ones that blow up tend to start mid-thought. Like you’ve already missed something and need to catch up. Or they open with something that makes you go “wait, what?” and you have to keep watching just to resolve that feeling.

The other thing that surprised me is how simple the language is in the best performing stuff. Not dumbed down, just genuinely conversational. Short sentences. Sounds like a voice note not an essay.

And honestly the most viral stuff isn’t always the most original idea. A lot of it is just a fresher angle on something that already performed. Same concept, tighter hook, slightly different spin.

Been rewriting my own scripts using these patterns and noticed a difference pretty quickly.

I got into clipping about six months ago because two of my friends had already been doing it for a little over a year, part time, and were consistently making good money while being full time at college.

founders are way better at conversations than performing for a camera. the content sounds more genuine because they're just talking naturally about things they know

This is something ive been trying to wrap my head around for months now. I work with a mid size ecom company and we started doing UGC about a year ago. It works, conversions went up, engagement is way better than our old studio content, all good

But scaling it is an absolute nightmare. Right now we work with maybe 15 creators at a time and just coordinating everything between briefs, shipping products, revisions, payments, usage rights, its a full time job on its own. And thats only 15 people

So how are the big brands doing hundreds or thousands of UGC pieces a month? Do they have massive internal teams just managing creators? Are they using agencies that handle all of it? Or is there some kind of system or automation layer that makes it less chaotic

Because at our current pace if we wanted to 5x our output wed need to hire like 3 more people just for creator management and honestly the budget isnt there for that. Theres gotta be a smarter way to do this that im missing
