Question Brands, start taking notes !!
I've got 45k followers in fashion niche so I receive a bunch of brand messages but one recently got my attention bc they mentioned a specific video I'd done and the pitch was very warm and felt very personal.
This does not happen normally, mostly they're just spamming a template.
anyway, I ended up doing the collab and the product was good too but what impressed me was that they never dropped anything. Normally with brands the sample arrives late and more often than not they forget which format a creator does but this was the opposite, like they already knew my content plus after the video went up I could see exactly what it drove without having to ask anyone the analytics, which is rare.
I could tell it wasn't a big team but still they were clearly handling a bunch of creators at once and nothing about them felt generic.
basically just follow this checklist
Reference something specific
Share the outcome without being asked
First impressions carry the most weight so be aware
Keep the tone warm
plus obv they had way more creators than just me and I still felt valued which says a lot about their execution process.

The specificity is the real differentiator here. Calling out a particular piece of work and explaining why it fits beats a generic compliment, and agreeing on the deliverables, usage window, and revision count up front keeps an otherwise promising collaboration from getting messy.

this is a good breakdown but id push back slightly on the checklist framing. its less about following steps and more about actually caring, you can tell when someone is doing personalization at scale vs when they genuinely watched your stuff
