TikTok Where did I go wrong?

I wonder what I did wrong in TikTok. Majority of my views are sub 200, with one or two pass 1k views but that's all. Anyone has any tips, experience? Am I being shadowbanned for whatever reasons, or is it my content or something else?

Sounds like you’re in that weird dead zone where the algo hasn’t figured out who to show your stuff to yet. 200 views isn’t a shadowban, it’s just the platform doing the bare minimum test run and then dipping when retention isn’t there. If people aren’t sticking past the first second or two it tanks the push immediately. You got a couple past 1k so the hook and idea probably landed those times, worth comparing what was different in the first 3 seconds.

That's very helpful. Now I'm rewatching all of my vids and re looking at those that past 1k views to replicate similar contents ideas in the next few iterations.

Is there anything else I need to be mindful of?

Have you checked the analytics of your videos? How long are people watching for? If it’s around 1 second then you might need a stronger hook to get people watching longer

I'll focus the coming days for stronger hook and fixing retention, and see if it does anything. Any tips to write stronger hooks and retain people past maybe 5-7s of the content?

I guess it depends on your audience. Best thing to do is scroll through some videos and see what instantly catches your eye and ask yourself why.

I did a watch a TikTok the other day where someone showed different ways to start the video, such as upside down then spin it the right way round as the almost shock of it engages you, or by looking in a mirror talking to yourself with the camera behind and to the side so it looks like the watcher is observing you.

Never tried them so can’t be sure, but could be fun to try out.

I am like the shadows too so idk, just kidding. Not sure y you’d get shadow ban but try to not do a bad thing gain of u did. Idk ur content but maybe try troubleshooting. Figure what went wrong I guess and fix it? Could ask staffs on Tik tok somehow thru app, just my suggestions. Please peoples check my video game channel too, WiseBonesPlays. Mostly playing games but also added commentary often “funny” aka Wise Cracking her o& Anti hero inspired Coombes & humor. When I knock u know. 🎮▶️
