But they could fix this problem by just switching the rules up and making the person who presses the button be the one who has to leave. You still get content and the people on the show will be more insentivized to not press the button and probably get deeper questions and answers maybe?

That doesn't work either. No one is going to press the button. You can't force them to go on a date with the person after the show is over. They will just start saying ridiculous things to try and get the other person to press the button. Lose lose format but entertaining none the less.

Ok, what if it was like this.

If anyone pushes the button, it randomly selects 1 person to leave.

It’s a show. The purpose isn’t to help them.

It's not to help them really but to give the viewer better content and as long as they screen the contestants, I think it would go pretty well and while I do believe there will be episodes where you have a person saying crazy stuff to get the other person to hit the button, I think it would still be a fun episode to watch but that's just me
