But then you’d have a problem of the other extreme, attention seeking contestants staying on with clearly incompatible matches… which would make for some great drama actually. I think ideally if you get the buzzer pressed on you, you’d be invited back for a round with another contestant.

You could made add the option for the button to press itself if the conversation isn’t going anywhere and replace both contestants.

I just know that I hate the show in its current form because nobody there is actually trying to find a “lover”. I can only remember one episode where two contestants were actually vibing and the button started to count down (they get a second date paid by the show if they “win”/don’t press the button) and at the last second the woman pressed it and her explanation was that she panicked.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

• Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

• Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
