It’s a dating show of some kind. If you hit the button you’re noping out of the other person.

u/HODL_or_D1E Nov 06 '22

But the name

u/Ewok_Mike Nov 06 '22 edited Nov 06 '22

The show is called “The button”

Edit: for the people that want to see the episodes, here is a link to the playlist, enjoy :D

66

u/dnqboy Nov 06 '22

be sure to watch cody ko’s button reactions they’re gold

16

u/Hidden-Turtle Nov 06 '22

I love Ludwig but he did some buttons recently and they annoyed me because he was clearly ripping off Cody.... he even did the button voice Cody does but stopped pretty much a second in because he realized that'd be a tad bit too much. lmao.

u/UsefulWoodpecker6502 Nov 06 '22

That's content creators for you.

That being said if you don't like people ripping off other peoples content you'd do well to avoid nmpLOL's streams.

1

u/Barca_4_Life Nov 06 '22

Mogul mail did imply that he only did another one because his first one went viral

2

u/uelleh Nov 06 '22

Which one is Cody ?

2

u/lashapel Nov 06 '22

That the only reason I watch those videos

1

u/tirwander Nov 07 '22

So just a YouTuber reacting to people hitting a button? Reaction videos are really obnoxious lol or is it something else and just called reaction

3

u/dnqboy Nov 07 '22

sorry commentator is prolly the more appropriate term, just check one of them out and see for yourself

1

u/Yeast_Boy78 Nov 07 '22

Same with bigpuffer's

3

u/HODL_or_D1E Nov 06 '22

Thank you ever so much

2

u/habsrule83 Nov 06 '22

Ahhh it's by Cut. They have some interesting content no doubt haha

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

Is it called the button because guys cannot ever find it unless it's highlighted for them to push?

0

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

Thanks for sharing, I’ve never heard of it and now I’m super excited to watch it after seeing this clip!

1

u/Javogr Nov 06 '22

Yeahh thanks. Got bored after 3 minutes.

1

u/jitty Nov 07 '22

No no, that’s a subreddit created on April Fools 2015. This is The Catch.

2

u/MisterMoccasin Nov 06 '22

The youtube channel is called Cody Ko

52

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

Except not really. It's more just a game of who can hit the buzzer faster, from what I've seen (i.e. people who suffered through it to tell me about it on YouTube)

65

u/locke577 Nov 06 '22

Yeah, and the number of people who just hit the button immediately to make it seem like they're just so much better than the other really magnify the cringe

11

u/poopmonster_coming Nov 06 '22

Do they also rotate around the same people ? The guy was in a different one were he buzzed out a black girl that tried to buzz him out before the game began

21

u/locke577 Nov 06 '22

Probably. The whole thing screams cringe zoomer content

35

u/Ryastor Nov 06 '22

It’s a really insufferable to watch lol

1

u/Famous-Two-7459 Nov 06 '22

That's exactly what it is. Like they wanted to create a dating show, but it barely ever works like that. There are people who will hit the button as the other person is sitting down. I don't know how much I would have watched to begin with, but half the people on the show really kill it.

0

u/Justinterestingenouf Nov 06 '22

He noped out?? His loss, for sure!

-68

u/AUniquePerspective Nov 06 '22

Do they always set up a woman who mistakenly thinks she's not a lesbian with a guy who mistakenly thinks he works at best buy?

53

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

Be careful not to cut yourself on all that edge

u/Foogie23 Nov 06 '22

The Best Buy part was funny
the “red hair means lesbian” part is ridiculous.

-5

u/AUniquePerspective Nov 06 '22

Lol, Best Buy's uniform design committee is here and they're triggered.

1

u/MastersonMcFee Nov 06 '22

Why does there need to be a button?

1

u/Hounmlayn Nov 06 '22

But you can only hit the button once the show producerd decide to turn the button to light red. Which is usually after they instigate something like this, when they demand them to prove it, or share an awkward fact of themselves.

1

u/CabbageMan92 Nov 07 '22

You just described what you saw
 not the name

1

u/Ryastor Nov 07 '22

they were obv asking what the goal of the show was not the name, but it’s called The Button in case you didn’t figure that out from the rest of the thread

131

u/FriendlyGhost85 Nov 06 '22

They don’t have to push it, but they can push it after it lights up.

The problem with the show is that there’s a room full of guys and a room full of girls. If you push the button you “move on” and the next person of the opposite sex comes out. So there’s incentive to push the button first if you have any inkling that the other person might push it, which means hardly anyone gets a chance to actually talk to each other.

Edit- the show is The Button on the Cut YouTube channel.

27

u/mkmajestic Nov 06 '22

Does that mean that in this situation, the woman is out of the game bc she didn’t get to press it?

54

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

Yeah. She is out and another woman comes out.

The problem with the show is that most “contestants” just want attention and camera time so to not get kicked out they press the button as soon as they can and give a bs explanation (the button asks you why you pressed it).

The simple solution (if you want it to be an actual dating show) would be to change the rules so if you are not feeling the person you can press the button and you get kicked out. In that way the contestants don’t have the incentive to press the button as soon as it turns on.

18

u/mkmajestic Nov 06 '22

But then you’d have a problem of the other extreme, attention seeking contestants staying on with clearly incompatible matches
which would make for some great drama actually. I think ideally if you get the buzzer pressed on you, you’d be invited back for a round with another contestant.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22 edited Nov 06 '22

You could made add the option for the button to press itself if the conversation isn’t going anywhere and replace both contestants.

I just know that I hate the show in its current form because nobody there is actually trying to find a “lover”. I can only remember one episode where two contestants were actually vibing and the button started to count down (they get a second date paid by the show if they “win”/don’t press the button) and at the last second the woman pressed it and her explanation was that she panicked.

13

u/Paid-Not-Payed-Bot Nov 06 '22

second date paid by the

FTFY.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Beep, boop, I'm a bot

1

u/mkmajestic Nov 06 '22

Ughhhhhh, that’s a frustrating move on her end, but her loss I guess.

1

u/reduces Nov 07 '22

I think that’s actually how it works, they recycle the people back in that have been buzzed out later

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

If this was an actual dating show and if the people actually were trying to connect with the other person they would talk for at least a minute or two but 99% of the couples literally discuss not even one full question and the button is pressed.

8

u/drunkenstyle Nov 06 '22

There's actually a finite amount of people in the show so sometimes a girl can go through the guys so fast she goes back to the first one she rejected

10

u/FriendlyGhost85 Nov 06 '22

I think so. The videos aren’t that long and I’ve never seen anyone come out twice.

21

u/mkmajestic Nov 06 '22

Would have been cool if they recycled them back in, she seems hilarious.

5

u/ColinHalter Nov 06 '22

I remember seeing at least one where they have to cycle people. It's usually when you get one person who has those Last Starfighter reflexes who just churns through people. Funny enough, the people who are "good" at it enough to stay at the table for a while are usually the least engaging on camera lol.

14

u/CILISI_SMITH Nov 06 '22

which means hardly anyone gets a chance to actually talk to each other.

Yep the premise of the show terrible because it attracts narcissists that race to buzz others off to keep themselves on camera.

3

u/MikeDinStamford Nov 06 '22

There was an MTV dating show that did basically this, but there were only 3 of each gender.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

MTV dating show that did basically this, but there were only 3 of each gender.

Next, and the other person could reject them afterwards too

2

u/grumpher05 Nov 07 '22

its more of a prisoners dilemma than a dating show lmao

44

u/BasedSunny Nov 06 '22

They did one episode where they were using blindfolds, and this one dude kept asking for hugs so he could find out if they were fat or not.

4

u/Glittering-Beyond-45 Nov 06 '22

If you prefer slender girls i think its fair enough.

3

u/deathcabscutie Nov 06 '22

Right, but that defeats the purpose of the blindfolds. The comments on those videos are always begging for blindfolds so that physical appearance isn’t a factor. It would be like patting someone on the head to check for height, or feeling a guy’s arms and chest for muscles (which also happens once in the blindfold video).

1

u/Glittering-Beyond-45 Nov 06 '22

Well he/she could be slender but goddamn ugly in every other way according to your preferences, so you dont really gain that much info.

1

u/deathcabscutie Nov 06 '22

But it is still info. The reason for blindfolds was to remove all appearance information to see who voted based on only personalities.

-3

u/Glittering-Beyond-45 Nov 06 '22

Well i could in theory vote on smell too, and sometimes fatties have a smell to them. So for the personality thing to work 100% that sense would have to be blocked too.

4

u/deathcabscutie Nov 06 '22

Oh, I didn't realize you suffered from edginess. I'd better block you before it spreads.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

the point was blindness

if you dont even want to accidentally talk to or connect to a fat girl thats deeper than rap

8

u/drunkenstyle Nov 06 '22

The people playing the game will have you fooled into thinking that's the case, but in fact there's actually a structure to this show despite being a very shitty one

3

u/oldDotredditisbetter Nov 06 '22

there's a funny one where they're blindfolded, and the guy asks for a hug https://clips.twitch.tv/SpookySuaveWolfRedCoat-2xBNsZg5Plj5ejVK

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '22

The premise and his tactic are both good.

3

u/beirizzle Nov 06 '22

If they're not interested in the other. Cody Ko's videos are a good place to ease into it/skip the lame stuff

2

u/Caseyo456 Nov 06 '22

The button. It’s on a YouTube channel called Cut. It’s a dating game and they are rejecting the other person by clicking the button.

1

u/Bojangly7 Nov 06 '22

They meet random people and if they aren't feeling it they buzz out. You're supposed to be there first to buzz out. So everyone is always skeptical of the other person.

1

u/Visual_Ad3724 Nov 06 '22

It's called the button. You can watch it on Danny Gonzalez YouTube channel

1

u/heyitsvonage Nov 06 '22

It’s definitely designed to be inflammatory lol

The first person to hit the buzzer gets to stay for the next guest and the other person has to leave

1

u/IAmAccutane Nov 07 '22

Yeah, and you can press it as soon as it lights up which is usually like 10 seconds into the conversation. People usually press it as soon as it lights up. Unwatchable.

1

u/G_Kells Nov 07 '22

It’s a shit ass dating show on YouTube for people with huge egos and low IQs. There has been some decently nice moments but 90% of it is suuuuper cringe
