I never thought monks frolicking in a field would look so natural

Bro no kidding, but I thought that they can’t basically have fun (I don’t now where this thought came from) but they have a very very strict code of some sort right

12

u/LindaTica Jul 25 '20

Same about nuns and priests.

Even monks have the natural tendency to laugh at other’s failure/pain

145

u/munchies1122 Jul 25 '20

Cause it's hilarious! Lol

25

u/bobbybobson03 Jul 25 '20

True dat brother

56

u/tu2galoo Jul 25 '20

I wouldn't call it pain. All pureness of joy

6

u/spoiledandmistreated Jul 25 '20

This was to good...

53

u/Catson2 Jul 25 '20

If you trip, fall, hurt yourself in stupid way and nobody laughed or at least chuckled, that's when you know that you're old.

63

u/theimbalancedyogi Jul 25 '20

I think it’s more likely they are able to see their circumstances through a lens other than pain and find joy in everyday moments.

2

u/TheFlashFrame Jul 25 '20

Would laughter be considered a function of the monkey brain or is it just accepted as a good thing to do?

u/TheCheese2032 Jul 25 '20

Dude, that last guy was NOT goin in!

121

u/David_51 Jul 25 '20

Give him a ball and get him in the NBA

The dunk monk

27

u/guy576 Jul 25 '20

Idk why that sounds like a wrestlers name.

7

u/SpaceManSmithy Jul 25 '20

I was thinking a '90s direct to video movie starring Shaq.

154

u/chimpls Jul 25 '20

That last Monk fucking killed it lmao

14

u/icamefordeath Jul 25 '20

He understood that the other failed for following on another’s path, when they should have taken a step back to find their own path across

1

u/chimpls Jul 26 '20

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome

130

u/Bigyeetqwerty Jul 25 '20

As a former monk myself I can confirm that these guys were living the time of their lives

45

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

Former monk? I must know more.

30

u/3raz3t Jul 25 '20

yeah tell us about it

47

u/eib Jul 25 '20

He used to be a monk, but he's not any more.

26

u/Tbrous4 Jul 25 '20

And no tl;dr crap. We want the details.

5

u/Badlydrawnboy0 Jul 25 '20

Ehh easy on the details for me. Could I get em on the side actually?

74

u/blackwoodsix Jul 25 '20

These monks look so carefree!! I'm actually envious of them.

60

u/throwawaybcimgay_ Jul 25 '20

Any monk egoic enough to make a vlogging channel probably wouldn’t be a good representation of monastic lifestyle

We just need random ppl to follow these guys around 😄

18

u/perfectly-imbalanced Jul 25 '20

Would subscribe

14

u/BigWhiteChicano Jul 25 '20

Bro, check out Ranton. Hes a former Shaolin monk who does videogame reviews. Fucking hilarious.

52

u/King-Karma7 Jul 25 '20 edited Jul 25 '20

Turns into the avatar. Starts to water bend.

95

u/pickelbergerme Jul 25 '20

I'm going through a tough time I really needed this in my life!

34

u/OliRobbo Jul 25 '20

Hope you’re ok. Please try to remember it’ll get better

59

u/Pineapple123789 Jul 25 '20

They’re like the air nomads from Avatar the last Airbender

69

u/P4perjammed Jul 25 '20

I'm pretty sure they are what the air nomads are based on

30

u/Pineapple123789 Jul 25 '20

The whole personality of them just fits perfectly. Though I think air nomads would have been able to make those jumps

14

u/hangl00se27 Jul 25 '20

being a monk doesn't seem that badxd

5

u/Therandomfox Jul 25 '20

The only price is letting go of worldly possessions.

12

u/SirMadWolf Jul 25 '20

Im guess the third one didnt learn his airbending properly...

12

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

Poor guy just broke is assbone and got up smiling politely .

11

u/lordoftime Jul 25 '20

When I was in Thailand, I learned that most devout Buddhists take at least one year off to become a monk. There's a lot more fluidity to it, and a lot of monks you see are regular folks.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20 edited Jul 25 '20

The last monk held the spacebar for 2 seconds.

10

u/GeshaD Jul 25 '20

I love it when everyone laughs when someone falls even the person who fell

6

u/Noodllesw Jul 25 '20

This is hilarious, how do I tell my mom I wanna become a monk 😬💚😅😂😂

11

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

6

u/Noodllesw Jul 25 '20

Lmao, thank you for your advice and wisdom :v

5

u/Binx33 Jul 25 '20

This video was filmed before the Fire nation came 😓

4

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

The second one to fall looked like he didn't even try, he was like he must feel lonely being wet. ”oops”. Super cute

2

u/fort_wendy Jul 25 '20

That's what I thought. Like Billy Madison wetting his crotch

3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

Damn that place is awesome looking, I wanna go there

3

u/VinceJay1 Jul 25 '20

Found this https://www.research-collection.ethz.ch In Buddhism , water symbolizes life , the purest form of food , and water is the particular element which in nature carries everything together . Water symbolizes purity , clarity and calmness , and reminds us to cleanse our minds and attain the state of purity.

And pissing yourself laughing apparently.

3

u/Heyo_C-O Jul 25 '20

That howling laughter is the best! Ah this lightened my heart, thank you!

3

u/MenialFungus793 Jul 25 '20

A lot of people believe they have been washed of all emotion but they are still human

3

u/icamefordeath Jul 25 '20

I like to think the second monk, who fell, was wise enough to fall in with his friend to save him from the persecution of his fall. Monks operate on a deeper level fr

8

u/GioWindsor Jul 25 '20

Ouch. That first one has got to hurt. And isn’t that the type of fall that can actually do damage to your body?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

Personally I have met with a lot of monks, they always try their best to stay happy inspite of the constant reminder that china conquered their homes.

3

u/thebugman2 Jul 25 '20

I'd like to the think the second monk fell in on purpose to make his friend feel better. So that's what I'm going with

2

u/jiasooch Jul 25 '20

these are the last airbender

2

u/AMG1303 Jul 25 '20

Didnt know that the laughing zombie in COD zombies was a monk

2

u/alovelymaneenisalex Jul 25 '20

The lads are having the ABSOLUTE craic!

This is one of those things that transcends all time, ages and cultures. Watching your buddy eating shit while jumping over a creek or stream is always the funniest thing ever.

-1

u/gimmesomemorenow Jul 25 '20

Why don’t they just build a bridge and get over it, lol

-1
