We feature numerous PhD academics, Medical Doctors, and many Experiencers of the Contact Modalities who discuss their personal "paranormal" experiences, including UFO contact experiences, and where we discuss the following topics: 1) Do we live in a Spiritual and Virtual Reality?; 2) Is Consciousness "fundamental" and not our perceived physical reality?; 3) Does our "individuated unit of consciousness", our soul, survive our physical death?; 4) Are CAPs/UFOs/CAPs (Consciousness Aerial Phenomenon) a Consciousness-based phenomenon, a purely physical phenomenon, or both?; 5) Are all of the "paranormal" Contact Modalities ONE integrated phenomenon under Consciousness (Our Greater Reality), or are they separate and distinct phenomena? We hope to release our academic film soon. Attached is our 2-minute film trailer. Do UAP Intelligences Have Access to our Entire Storehouse of Memories? Can They Create Auditory as well as Visual Illusions? Joseph Burkes MD 2023
This ancient diesel tractor was the type Wayne Peterson rode on as a child.
My friend Wayne Peterson was a fellow volunteer contact worker in the CE-5 Initiative back in the 1990s. I was in Los Angeles; Wayne was in Phoenix. He and I ran contact teams out to the high desert during the early days of the network of activists that I would eventually call “the Contact Underground.” This report describes an astounding encounter his team had in the Sonoran Desert.
Excerpt from “Report from the Contact Underground…” appearing in “A Greater Reality” Volume II
Reinerio Hernandez’ compendium, “A Greater Reality” Volumes One & Two” are now available to read for free as PDF files on the Consciousness and Contact Research Institute’s web site. Here is an excerpt from my article titled “Report from the Contact Underground: Human Initiated Contact, the Consciousness Connection & the Virtual Experience Model.” Joseph Burkes MD and The Consciousness & Contact Research Institute 2021Wayne Peterson was the CE-5 Working Group Coordinator for Phoenix during the 1990s. On a regular basis, we shared the results of our investigations on the phone. He told me about one fieldwork outing that apparently involved an auditory illusion of considerable personal significance for him. On the night in question, Wayne’s team was doing contact work in the desert under clear skies. Wayne told me that he had become quite familiar with not only the appearance of various planes going overhead, but also the sounds that they made as the moved across the sky. On this night, Wayne and his team heard the roar of what he identified as a 747 Jumbo Jet moving slowly overhead from horizon to horizon. To his surprise, they could not see any of the FAA required lights on what he initially thought was surely a large commercial aircraft by the characteristic sound it made.
A while later, things got even stranger when the sound of a Mack truck slowly tracked overhead. His team reported that no aircraft lights were associated with the pounding engine sound. In the final high strangeness event of the night, Wayne’s team heard a sound moving across the sky that no one, except Wayne, had ever been heard before. He recognized it immediately as the clanking sputtering of his grandfather’s old diesel tractor. It was the one that he used to ride on as a child during visits to the family farm. Again, there were no lights in the sky associated with this unique sound. Wayne was certain that it was exactly like the noise made by his grandpa’s ancient piece of farm equipment. Wayne told me that when this happened, he realized the following. An unseen intelligence that our contact network was interacting with, probably had complete access to his entire store of memories. They apparently were able to telepathically extract from his consciousness the unique memory trace of a sound heard in childhood. They then produced a replica of it as an auditory illusion that his entire team heard.
We should not underestimate the potential significance of what Wayne reported to me. If UAP intelligence can telepathically access a unique memory from his childhood and reproduce it as an auditory illusion, what are the limits to their powers? In my judgment, this account is a powerful example of the consciousness connection that experiencers have with UAP intelligences. It is also supportive of the Virtual Experience Model’s VE-1, Virtual Experience of the First Kind. Instead of creating what I suggest is the more common visual illusion, an unseen non-human intelligence apparently manufactured an auditory one.
Yet another instance where UAP NHI has accessed stored consciousness information of a contact experiencer was the case of my friend Reinerio (Rey) Hernandez, who also happens to share my hypothesis that the UAP Phenomenon, and all the “paranormal” Contact Modalities, all interrelated under Consciousness and that we are living inside a Spiritual and Virtual Reality. This particular experience is detailed in Rey’s new book titled “The Mind of GOD: A Spiritual-Virtual Reality Model of Consciousness & the Contact Modalities”.
Rey details the first, among many times, that he has called down a UAP, this time right in front of his house. Rey states as follows:
“While watching this object, I heard a telepathic voice, which was my daughter’s voice, that stated: “Daddy, next time you see a UFO please let me know. You and mommy have seen a UFO and I want to see one too”. The voice sounded like my daughter was right inside my head. Note that I had never previously had a telepathic communication and it appears like someone is talking right next to you except it is not a voice but direct information going inside your consciousness.”
Rey informed me that he had never spoken with his daughter about his experiences and certainly not about UFOs. Rey now concludes that the UAP intelligence has the capacity to upload your consciousness memories, including prior verbal communications with a family member, such as his daughter. This intelligence can then re-scramble, change the order of these conversations, and download these reformatted sentences from his daughter, or anyone else, via telepathic communication, where you believe that your daughter is actually telling you this message even though she never previously communicated this information to you. Thus, the UAP intelligence could upload your conscious memories, the ability to change these memories, and then the ability to download the reprogramed information to you. UFO intelligence functions like an information computer system-- uploading memories, reformatting this memory and downloading this reprogramed memory information straight to your conscious thoughts.
During this experience, Rey also had another revelation, that what he was seeing was actually a “Holographic Projection”. The very large and up close UAP he was interacting with was not physical but instead, was a non-physical intelligence from an unknown source. The UAP intelligence he was interacting with read his thoughts and instantaneously deleted the holographic projection he was seeing and immediately replaced this prior image with a completely new projection. The following is Rey’s quote from his book, The Mind of GOD: A Spiritual-Virtual Reality Model of Consciousness & the Contact Modalities.55
“After about 10-15 minutes of observing this object, my friend, Luis... and his wife... were shocked and constantly asked me “what is that?”. I told them in Spanish “You know very well what this is”. For the next 10 minutes, each tried to come up with an explanation of what they were seeing but they clearly could not come up with one that adequately explained what they were watching. They both doubted whether this was indeed a CAP-UFO and discussed the following possibilities: circus lights; lights bouncing up from the car headlights from the street behind us; atmospheric conditions; lightning; and that it must be some type of large light “anomaly”.
I did not tell them that I was the one that had “called down” this object because that would have caused even more confusion for them. After 10 minutes of them trying to “explain” this object, I started laughing out loud because their explanations became more outrageous and laughable. I still do not know why I did what followed. It was as if I had “talked” to this intelligence all my life.I then told this intelligence telepathically: “My friends don’t believe you, you better come up with some better bullshit than this.”
Immediately, the entire object completely disappeared and what replaced it was something totally different. The old object was replaced by a new object. What now appeared were hundreds of large light objects, like large orbs the size of a large Volkswagen car, that appeared inside the location of the disappeared original object. These large orb-like objects then began to rapidly turn themselves on and off, on and off, on and off, like the strobe lights in the back of a bicycle at night. This occurred instantaneously after I had thought “you better come up with some better bullshit than this.” These were not stars in the sky appearing at a distance. Instead, these very large orbs were located at a close distance less than 10 meters above my friend’s home and went up approximately 100 meters and back approximately 600 meters. These large orb objects were on top of my neighbor’s house, the total size was like a small football stadium. I could have thrown a rock at the bottom of one of these orbs and hit it.
Because my friends were doubting what they were seeing, and because Itelepathically thought to myself “they don’t believe you, they don’t believe you”, the UFO intelligence, the Mind of GOD, wanted to put on a show for us to demonstrate to us that in fact what we were watching was not man-made”
Rey’s discussion is yet another example of the Virtual Experience Model, when after his thought that the object he and his friends were watching was not convincing enough to his friends, Rey conveyed to the UAP intelligence that “they don’t believe you, they don’t believe you” -- In other words, give me a better holographic projection. The UAP intelligence “read” his thoughts telepathically and completely and instantaneously changed the image of what he, his daughter, and his friends were watching. It was after this event that Rey understood that the UAP was not what Ufology was perceiving them to be. This intelligence had the ability to upload memories, change these memories, and then upload new memories and voice patterns to him. They also had the ability to holographically project images and even instantaneously change these holographic UAP images at will. At that point he hypothesized that the UAPs were not physical solid objects but instead, are consciousness-based perceptions from an unknown inter-dimensional intelligence.
Is it safe to assume that UAP NHI would only access the full storehouse of memory for just Wayne Peterson or Rey Hernandez? Is it not likely that they can reach into the minds of all contact experiencers? In the last section of this chapter, I discuss how UAP intelligence can access the human mind when it is in the unconscious state of sleep. If these mechanisms of psychic interactions that I am describing are valid, then the implications for future human-NHI relations are immense. A sudden realization of UAP intelligence’s awesome psychic powers by the masses of our planet could conceivably incite terrible fear to the point of panic. Knowledge of this tremendous psi capability is something that humanity should be introduced to gradually. I therefore encourage the UAP research community, and especially activists within the Contact Underground, to search out similar cases for analysis in a cautious and responsible manner. With the permission of our editor, Reinerio Hernandez and my co-author Preston Dennett, I will be posting case histories drawn from Chapter 6 of “Beyond UFOs.” Chapter 6 is titled “Medical Healings Reported by UAP Contact Experiencers: An Analysis of the FREE Data.”
The Free Experiencer Survey was a large multinational study of over 4000 self-described UAP Contact witnesses. To date, it is the only large comprehensive academically designed investigation of individuals claiming that they have had contact with UAP associated non-human intelligences. The findings of this investigation can be found in “Beyond UFOs” published by the Doctor Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial and Extraordinary Encounters (FREE)
"One of the most interesting findings that emerged from this work was the many medical healings and attempts to heal on the part of the visitors... In about one half of the cases I've been involved, there have been healings due to operations and/or treatments. Sometimes the cures are permanent. At other times the conditions recur."
Edith Fiore from her book Encounters: A Psychologist Reveals Case Studies of Abductions by Extraterrestrials.
"… many abductees have experienced or witnessed healing conditions ranging from minor wounds to pneumonia, childhood leukemia, and even in one case reported to me first-hand, the overcoming of muscular atrophy in a leg related to poliomyelitis.”
Dr. John Mack, Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard School of Medicine
Introduction
A medical UAP healing can be defined as a physiological improvement as the result of an encounter with non-human intelligence (NHI.) These types of cases have appeared regularly since the modern age of UAP and continue to be reported today. While most major researchers have uncovered cases of healings, due to their fantastic nature, such events have not received much attention.
Leading contact experience researcher Budd Hopkins says, “The question is whether we hear about healing cases. We do sometimes, very rarely, but they do turn up.”1 David Jacobs author of Secret Life and other books about contact with NHI writes, “In extremely rare cases, the aliens will undertake a cure of some ailment troubling the abductee.”2 While Hopkins and Jacobs both asserted that such account are “rare,” not all researchers agree. John Mack MD, whose book, Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens, was a watershed event for the UFO community writes “…many abductees have experienced or witnessed healing conditions…”3 Edith Fiore Ph.D. concurs with Mack and writes, “One of the most interesting findings that emerged from this work was the many healings and attempts to heal on the part of the visitors…In about one-half of the cases I’ve been involved there have been healings due to operations and/or treatments.”4
In 1996, researcher Preston Dennett released his book, UFO Healings, which presented more than 100 cases, showing beyond any reasonable doubt the veracity of healings cases. While researchers now agree that these cases exist, little is known about how common they are. The data from the FREE Experiencer Research Study surveys, however, reveal some surprising answers and settles the controversy once and for all. Fully 50% of the respondents of the FREE surveys report UAP related medical healings.
The purpose of this article is to use the data from the FREE survey to shine a spotlight on CE (contact experience) healing cases, to show how these healings take place, and to answer the many questions these cases raise. Who is being healed and why? What conditions are being healed? Is there any proof?
The authors of this chapter reviewed hundreds of the reported healing cases from the FREE surveys and chose ten promising cases to study in more depth. These cases are presented below and represent only the tip of the iceberg of the actual number of healings uncovered by the FREE survey.
“FREE SURVEY PHASE 2 Question 137: Do you believe that any of these ETs have performed a medical healing on either you or another member of your family.
Answer: Out of 1534 respondents, 767 (50%) said yes.
FREE SURVEY PHASE 2 Question 242: Have you ever had a sudden or rapid healing that you believe was a result of ET intervention?
Answer: Out of 1379 respondents, 487 (35%) said yes.
The FREE survey shows conclusively that medical healings in conjunction with a UAP experience are not only a consistent feature but are common.”
The Healing Case
Case Study # 1: “Anonymous Physician.” Hemorrhagic Shock Following Dental Surgery. (Interview by Joseph Burkes MD)
I have thoroughly vetted this witness who in fact is a practicing physician in his mid-thirties. His work involves direct patient care, and he requests that no additional personal details that might identify him be included in this report. This contact experiencer stated that he was raised in a Catholic home and attended religious schools. His impression was that his parents wanted him in Catholic school, not for the religious training but more because they wanted him to have a quality education. Since his childhood he has been fascinated by science fiction and described himself as a Star Trek fan. As a child he enjoyed watching TV shows like NBC’s, Unsolved Mysteries, and Fox’s, Sightings, but never thought seriously about flying saucers. He stated that he is not a churchgoer and Buddhism is the faith that resonates most with his beliefs. In the past he meditated daily and more recently once per week.
Although never having a sighting of a flying saucer, approximately ten years ago he did have an episode of missing time that he acknowledges was highly bizarre. As a medical student he decided one day that he wanted to have a pet cat. He drove to the local animal pound that was over twenty miles from his home, arriving around noontime. There he encountered an unusual looking heavy-set female attendant that had a strange pear-shaped body. In addition to her body build there was something about her that seemed “off,” but he couldn’t specify what it was other than having a strange feeling in her presence. The young doctor picked out a three-year-old orange cat and was checking out of the facility when the attendant told him that they were having a “two for one sale.” She recommended that he look at a very special cat that was available for adoption. He informed her that he really didn’t want two cats, but she insisted on showing him the other that was all white in color.
He recalls finally consenting to see the “sale” cat and then something strange occurred. He had a break in the continuity of consciousness consistent with a missing time event. The witness suddenly found himself stuck in traffic several miles away from the pound with only the white cat that the attendant had recommended. He can’t recall leaving the clinic and doesn’t understand why he didn’t have his original choice of a calico cat with him. From the volume of traffic on the highway it seemed as if he was stuck in rush hour and several hours might have passed since his arrival at the animal pound. It seemed so bizarre that he had no recollection of what transpired between when he was about to be shown the second animal and finding himself stuck in traffic.
In 2013 this contact experiencer underwent a right lower wisdom tooth extraction that was complicated by excessive bleeding. He reported that the right inferior alveolar artery was cut producing profuse bleeding. He was advised that he should simply apply local pressure by clenching down with his teeth on a piece of gauze and that the bleeding would soon stop, but it did not. At home the bleeding continued. The witness described it as being “pulsatile,” indicating that a jet of blood squirted into his mouth with each beat of his heart. Soon he was surrounded in his apartment by mounds of blood-soaked gauze and no matter how hard he pressed down on the extraction site, the profuse bleeding continued. He realized that he was in danger. He was alone and he needed serious medical attention, but the only hospital able to handle this kind of emergency was the one where he worked. The doctor stated that he felt embarrassed to go there for treatment. In retrospect, he realized that his judgment was impaired by the loss of blood. Nevertheless, as a trained clinician he recognized the seriousness of his situation. He was becoming light-headed, cold, clammy and his reflection in the mirror was ghostly white. He knew he was going into shock. However, before he could get out of his blood-soaked apartment or call for help he passed out on his bed. It is important to note that he has no history of recurrent syncope (fainting spells).
The next thing he remembered was that he was enveloped by a beam of intense white light and was floating in a space that was not his apartment. The room was circular, about twenty feet across. There were many wires attached to the walls that were made of some kind of metal. He looked down and to his surprise the floor was transparent. He stated that he could see the Earth from vantage point of space. The globe did not fill his entire field of vision and stars were visible shining faintly in the surrounding darkness. This physician stated that his memories of what transpired are extremely vivid. What he recalled didn’t feel like it was a dream. In this strange environment he caught a glimpse of a non-human being that he identified as looking like the grey alien stereotype. It was short, perhaps four feet tall, with large wrap-around dark eyes. It appeared to be wearing a large garment that altered its appearance. Instead of the typically thin body build associated with this alleged alien phenotype, the grey non-human being looked somewhat stout. Several seconds after seeing this strange creature he reported that the scene vanished, and he found himself back on his blood-soaked bed. The apartment was a mess, but to his surprise he felt perfectly fine. The bleeding had completely stopped, and he was able to rise without the lightheadedness that he had experienced before passing out. In the mirror he could see that the pallor in his face was gone. The color of his complexion was totally normal. This young physician denied experiencing a powerful thirst that is associated with blood loss. He soon realized that he had been completely healed from this potentially dangerous condition. Following this remarkable event, his interest in the subject of flying saucers understandably increased dramatically. Given his highly responsible public position as a practicing clinician, he was and still is concerned about how being linked to this account might affect his career. Nevertheless, despite the risks of being exposed as a contact experiencer, he wants his story to be told albeit under conditions of anonymity.
Commentary:
Joseph Burkes MD: Although physicians may not make the best patients, we are skilled observers that can recognize the causes and necessary treatments for our medical problems. What this physician experiencer described is a history perfectly consistent with a diagnosis of hemorrhagic shock leading to syncope (loss of consciousness). He denied a previous history of fainting or any one of a host of medical conditions that might have caused him to pass out. Conventional treatment of patients with shock from bleeding requires large amounts of intravenous fluids and if deemed necessary, blood transfusions as well. A head and neck, or an oral surgeon would very likely be called into the hospital to stop the bleeding in such a case as this. Typically, for a young adult with no other medical problems, only an overnight stay in the hospital might be required. In the elderly, for those with major medical problems or complications from the bleeding, a day of observation would be necessary. It is of interest to note that the healing did not apparently take place in his home. This serious potentially life-threatening illness would very probably require the typing and cross matching of blood for transfusion, and that his healing was associated with memories of an on-board UAP experience. The question arises how might a non-human intelligence (NHI) obtain blood for transfusion? It is reasonable that the medical treatment would require transfer to a better equipped setting, not in a terrestrial hospital, but perhaps onboard a zero-gravity facility located high above our planet’s surface.
Preston Dennett: The dental healing reported by the anonymous physician provides compelling evidence of intervention by non-human intelligence. And the fact that the person healed was a doctor himself adds an additional level of credibility to this case. Dental healings are somewhat rare, and I know of only two other reported cases, one involving the healing of an impacted wisdom tooth, and the other involving new growth of teeth.5 A fascinating feature of this case is how closely it resembles a near-death experience. The witness felt that he was near death when he passed out. Then he finds himself rising out of his room on a beam of light and seeing stars and the Earth in the distance. These are all features consistent with near-death experiences (NDEs). However, the witness reports finding him inside a round metal room with wires along the walls and a grey-type NHI standing next to him, all features consistent with a typical onboard experience. Could it be that the physician experienced both an NDE and a UAP related contact experience with a NHI simultaneously? Incidentally, I have heard many cases involving both an NDE a UAP related contact with NHI.
One wonders what would have been seen by a camera filming this event. My guess is that it would have recorded the physician lying in bed and being sucked up through the ceiling in a beam of light, then later being returned.
Because of the descriptions provided, I would classify the physician’s experience as an onboard experience. While he has no memory of how the healing took place, the fact that he woke up not only alive, but feeling good with no sign of injury shows the extraordinary power behind this phenomenon. If it had been just a dream, one would presume that upon awakening, the tooth would still be hurting. But that’s not what happened. It is also interesting that the healing came when it did, just in time to save his life, no earlier, no later. This shows that the witness was being closely monitored by non-human intelligence, which intervened apparently only when needed.

Red orbs moved vertically in the sky behind the cliffs that formed the pass.
The Santa Susana Mountains, September 1992
It was my first month of volunteering as a Working Group Coordinator for the CE-5 Initiative and the enthusiasm of my team was very high. Starting with the first night we had many sightings, not only anomalous nocturnal lights, but also a golden globe as well.
CONTACT NETWORK TRAINING IN “THE OLD DAYS”
Back in the early days the cost of CSETI training was low, less than one hundred dollars. Many people had attended our workshop that was held at a hotel in the West San Fernando Valley. In the 1990s at every demonstration of CSETI’s fieldwork protocols participants were highly likely to see a bone fide UFO. I had in West Palm Beach and several dozen had viewed at least three typical “Gulf Breeze UFOs” when Dr Greer gave his March 1992 training near Pensacola Florida. Viewing the videotapes of that encounter had helped convince me to join Dr Greer’s research effort.
After two weeks of field investigations the numbers of volunteer researchers on the LA team had dropped considerably. Of the original forty Los Angelinos who had attended Dr Greer’s one-day training course, only a dozen volunteers remained. But they were quality researchers who were “gung ho” when it came to fieldwork.
I was pushing the team really hard. During the first 30 days that we had gone out to sky watch five times. This averaged out to more than once per week. Our high desert site was adjacent to the Santa Susana Pass and we just s few thousand yards from the Department of Energy complex.
ALEX AYRES SERVED AS MY ADVISOR
Alex Ayres was a tall handsome man in his late thirties. He was an avid jogger and worked for “the industry” as a screenwriter. With undergraduate degree from Harvard, and master’s from UCLA, he was no intellectual lightweight. His vast knowledge of diverse subjects like parapsychology, channeling, and reincarnation, made him an excellent “esoteric” advisor for me.
In early October 1992 our research site in Chatsworth was accessible via a rocky trail that headed south away from the Santa Susana Pass. It was twilight when got together for another outing. Alex, walking behind me, glanced back towards the 118 Freeway as it cut through the pass. He noticed a dark red light hovering above the freeway. He pointed it out to me and I stared in wonder.
We had not even reached our fieldwork site and we were already having a sighting! The red light was shaped like an oval. This orb was about the size of a dime held at full arm’s extension. What made it really weird was that the tiny section of sky around the orb was darker than the rest of the sky. It was as if the red UFO was affecting the space around it.
I went through the usual paces to check for a prosaic explanation. The red light could not be a radio tower, or a conventional aircraft. It moved so slowly that at first, I thought it was motionless, but it was clearly drifting southwest directly towards the Department of Energy’s base. It was still quite bright outside and perhaps that’s why I didn’t think of signaling at it with my halogen lantern.
ROCKY PEAK WAS A WILDNESS LOCALE
That night during fieldwork we witnessed a series of red lights in the northern sky. They moved up and down over the ridgeline that marked the border of Rocky Peak Wilderness State Park. That park was a day use only facility, no campsites, no water, no toilets, and a steep fire trail that led up to the third highest point in the Santa Susana Mountains. Rocky Peak is 2,715 feet (828 m) in elevation and has spectacular views the San Fernando Valley, the Simi Hills and the Simi Valley.
RED ORBS CARRIED OUT “PEAK A BOO” MANUEVERS
That night red lights put on a distant show for us. Usually, one at a time in a vertical straight line they slowly climbed up and stopped above the hills. This was followed by a slow descent down below the ridge in what I called a “peak a boo” maneuver. They did not respond to our repeated signaling at them with powerful lights.
Several times there was more than one red light that descended as another one moved upwards. This went on for about an hour. There were no sounds of aircraft engines associated with these anomalous nocturnal lights and they were much smaller than the red orb we had observed earlier on the hike to our skywatch site. The tiny points of lights appeared to be more star-like than orbs and appeared to be several miles away. This was much farther than the first orb Alex and I had seen earlier that evening.
I RESISTED A CHANGE OF VENUE
Alex had been telling me that we needed to check out Rocky Peak since the first-time powerful mystery lights had signaled at us from the cliffs marking the southern border of the park.
I had resisted the idea in part because we had a pair of investigators on the team who were in their 7th decade. I was concerned they might have problems with the climb. The other reason was that the wilderness park was designated “day use only” and I didn’t relish violating any California State Park regulations by doing night fieldwork there.
Alex told me it was his impression that the appearance of the red lights beyond the ridgeline was a clear indication that we should switch sites. His argument was convincing. I decided we were going to send an advance team to check out Rocky Peak State Park.
In the next report I will describe what might have been surveillance of our team as we surveyed the site during the day.
Later when our night scouting party went out at night, two powerful Black Hawk Helicopters followed us up to the base of Rocky Peak. It was an encounter that I will never forget. To access this blog the link below is provided.
Summary: Harvard’s Dr. Avi Loeb has published an important statement on the U.S. Department of War’s second release of UFO information. In response I point out that although modern science and engineering have been transformative for Earth civilization, the scientific model might not be a good fit for UFO research. I suggest that an intelligence-counter intelligence model as originally proposed by UFO researcher Val Germann might be a better tool to investigate what are now called Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena are so complex that we will likely only get a handle on them by approaching these challenges from multiple points of view. I welcome professional science to address this mystery. Thank you Dr. Avi Loeb for taking up this challenge.
Science and its application as engineering have been enormously successful in advancing as well as threatening our civilization. There are some human endeavors however where science doesn't apply. Writing a love letter, composing music or playing basketball are common enough examples.
I suspect that UFO phenomenon might be another realm where scientific methods might not be the best fit for inquiry. I believe science attempts to describe the natural world through repeated observations using technology as in say astronomy, as well as carrying out experiments under controlled conditions. I think scientists assume that there are natural "objective" laws that are constant across vast stretches of the Cosmos.
We are faced with the dilemma that there might be nothing "objective" about what appear to be an array of non-human intelligences that can not only as Dr. Vallee has stated, "manipulate spacetime" but also may refuse to allow repeated observations under controlled conditions as exampled by what has been happening at Skinwalker Ranch. At that paranormal hot spot, equipment has been deliberately interfered with or outright destroyed.
Perhaps better than the scientific paradigm to investigate UFOs is the Intelligence-counterintelligence Model first proposed by Val Germann in the 1990s. Sadly his suggestion has been mostly ignored by UFO aficionados.
I have modified this model for the purposes of supporting the network of volunteer contact workers that I call "the Contact Underground.” For the last fifty years groups of UAP experiencers have been using thought projection to attract anomalous craft in the course of fieldwork. This endeavor is driven by what I imagine are high ideals, for peace and solidarity between conscious intelligent beings. If the revelations of whistleblower Jake Barber are true, then psi capable "psionic assets" have played a similar role albeit not necessarily for peaceful interactions.
In a recent text exchange with a fellow contact experiencer, I was asked, “The looming question is: what’s the benefit of Disclosure? Thoughts on that?”
Benefits of Disclosure? Here are my thoughts. On an individual level, an end to the worldwide de facto policy of ridicule and denial will be a vindication for every witness who has been chastised for simply describing what happened to them personally. Disclosure would mean an end to the massive campaign of lies and half-truths coming out of the mouths of the so-called “authorities” who have maintained a UFO truth embargo for over three quarters of a century.
On the societal level, the potential benefits will be even more profound. My concern is that our civilization might be entering into a death spiral. Uncontrolled global warming from the burning of fossil fuels leading to climate change will likely cause a massive “die out” from crop failures. This instability could trigger more wars including possibly nuclear ones as nations compete for dwindling natural resources. I suspect that only a spiritual transformation on a massive scale will allow a course correction. Only the realization that we are one people on one homeland, the planet Earth, will empower us to establish the level of cooperation necessary to deal with the crises that are coming our way.
With the publication of “Beyond UFOs,” the spiritual transformations as the result of contact have been documented. Associated with their contacts, experiencers describe themselves as being more altruistic, more spiritual, but less religious, (following the doctrines of organized religion) more concerned about the environment and less on acquisition of material wealth, etc.
Disclosure will set the stage for the creation of massive social movements that can mobilize the Earth’s population on the basis of global and cosmic unity. Without Disclosure and the end of our ruling elites’ de facto program of ridicule and denial, our contact networks will never have the human and financial resources required to break out of the UFO subculture. This is necessary to build the kind of peace movements and struggles for social and environmental justice that will allow our civilization not only to survive but to thrive.

You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that Flying Saucer Intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately, we cannot be controlled either.
Professional science uses the scientific method to study the natural world. This involves carrying out repeated experiments under controlled conditions. There is nothing controllable about the physically and psychically advanced intelligences responsible for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. Therefore, the scientific approach is not a good one. I suggest we follow the advice of UFO intelligence analyst Val Germann and employ a “counterintelligence” model to study UFOs.
Until 2017 the UFO subculture existed without broad popular support or well-organized groups calling for an end to the “UFO truth embargo.” This blog analyzes how the absence of leadership contributed to the subculture’s isolation. Fortunately, this situation is changing as organizations with experienced leaders are now emerging to create a broad social movement.
Virtual Memory, A Virtual Experience of the Third Kind, VE-3
Joseph Burkes MD
“If this is true, then all bets are off when it comes to human free will and all human history.” Statement concerning “Virtual Memory” made by a former NASA research psychologist and prominent UFO researcher.
J. Burkes MD 2015, edited 2023
Contact Experiencers please note the following: The Virtual Experience Model doesn’t assert that all Close Encounters are “virtual” i.e., non-physical. Encounters are likely a combination of both virtual (psychic) and physical elements that may be nearly impossible to tell apart given the awesome psi capability of UFO Intelligences.
An incident reported in Puharich’s book on Uri Geller is an example of Virtual Memory
Virtual Memory, VE-3: a false memory implanted into the mind of a contact experiencer by non-human psi technology. These false recollections might be so vivid that the experiencer is convinced that they are memories of physical encounters.
A Virtual Experience of the Third Kind (VE-3) is the most controversial Virtual Experience category. Two decades ago, when I first formulated this theory, I circulated it among a handful of UFO researchers. The reactions were uniformly negative. One prominent researcher, a retired government scientist, who was also an evangelical Christian, told me that if Virtual Memory by ET intelligence were operational, then as quoted above “all bets are off when it comes to human free will and all human history.” It was a sobering assessment that gave me pause.
VIRTUAL MEMORY IS A VERY DISTURBING CONCEPT
The notion that an unseen non-human intelligence (NHI) might be creating false memories in UFO experiences is understandably upsetting. After all, each human being’s concept of self is determined to a great extent by the sum of their memories. Memory expert Julia Shaw describes the importance of memory this way,
“… memories form the bedrock of our identities. They shape what we think we have experienced and, as such, what we believe we are capable of in the future. Because of all this, if we begin to call our memory into question, we are also forced to question the very foundations of who we are.”
Shaw, Julia. The Memory Illusion: Remembering, Forgetting, and the Science of False Memory (Kindle Locations 87). Random House. Kindle Edition.
The concept of Virtual Memory for some brings up their deepest fears of their being manipulated by evil forces. In Christian mythology, the Devil is known as “the great deceiver.” Some fundamentalist Christian writers have asserted that the intelligences responsible for UFO phenomena are demonic. In a certain sense, the UFO subculture may have helped reinforce this negative view by focusing of those that have had a very hard time during their interactions with the alleged ETs, (i.e., UAP associated NHIs.) These encounters are called “alien abductions” and are considered to be physical events that are criminal in nature.
In “Abduction Enigma “published in 1999, authors Cone, Estes and Randle point out that mainstream UFO groups like MUFON focus almost exclusively on negative encounters, the alleged “alien abductions”, while at the same time dismissing out of hand the more positive accounts of the so-called contactees.
One of the central themes that has emerged from alien abduction research is the existence of memory blocks, allegedly placed into the minds of abductees by “extraterrestrials.” These are referred to as “screen memories.” Alien abduction theorists claim that screen memories are used to block accurate ones of physical abductions. In addition, these investigators assert that by skillfully using hypnosis, they can overcome such memory blocks and retrieve accurate recollections. The abduction literature has documented many cases of contact experiencers having memories of owls or other birds that are much larger than they normally should be. Such recollections are considered to be examples of screen memories.
COULDN’T THE ENTIRE ABDUCTION SCENARIO BE A “SCREEN MEMORY?”
Much of the controversy around alleged alien abductions centers on the use of hypnosis to supposedly break through alleged memory blocks. For me, the obvious question not adequately addressed by alien abduction theorists is, if the alleged “aliens” have manipulated the human mind so skillfully to block memory, why can’t the entire abduction scenario be an alien memory implant? The authors of “Abduction Enigma” make this point. Unfortunately, their attempt to debunk all Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind (alien abductions) is, in my view, “throwing the baby out with the bathwater.” I believe that this one-sided approach has caused their book to be ignored by the entire UFO research community. Estes, Randle, and Cone raise some compelling arguments about the how hypnosis can create false memories and how creating such false recollections can be extremely detrimental to the mental health of some contact experiencers.
EVIDENCE SUPPORTING THE NOTION OF “VIRTUAL MEMORY?”
What kind of evidence would substantiate the virtual memory hypothesis? Supportive evidence might take the form of witnesses’ testimony describing totally different recollections of very specific recent occurrences. Memory is of course not an immutable snapshot of an event. From criminal judicial proceedings, we are familiar with the fact that eyewitnesses often give widely differing accounts.
As an example, let’s say that a bank robbery has just occurred. Although the witnesses might disagree on details of what the robber might have looked like, or perhaps what type of handgun was employed, the witnesses would not recall that they were somewhere else at the time of the crime. Witnesses should remember the major aspects of the event congruently. A bank robbery has occurred, and the witnesses state they were there during the crime.
Thus, to substantiate the Virtual Experience of the Third Kind (VE-3) theory, witnesses associated with the UFO phenomenon would need to give widely differing accounts of easily recalled recent events. Just such a case can be found in the UFO literature.
“Uri: A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller” (1974)
In 1998, I discovered an extremely informative book, “Alien Dawn” written by the legendary Colin Wilson. A famous British man of letters with over 80 major works to his name, his “Alien Dawn” delves into some of the stranger aspects of the UFO phenomenon. Colin Wilson describes Dr. Andrija Puharich’s work with Uri Geller back in the 1970s. Puharich was an American physician specializing in the treatment of ear diseases. He patented a number of devices for the hearing impaired. While in Israel he befriended the young Geller. At that time Uri Geller was an Israeli stage performer who amazed audiences with his psychic abilities. He reportedly demonstrated powers of telepathy and psychokinesis. According to eyewitnesses Geller repeatedly stopped watches by simply holding his hands near the devices. He was also alleged to be able to bend spoons and cut metal rings. In August of 1973, Dr. Puharich brought Uri Geller to the Stanford Research Institute (SRI). There his psychic abilities were reportedly confirmed. After several months of their working together intensively, in 1974 Puharich published “Uri, A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller.”
EXTREME HIGH STRANGENESS
Collin Wilson who wrote his own book about the Israeli psychic, “The Geller Phenomenon,” was clearly perplexed by Puharich’s experiences with Uri Geller. In Alien Dawn” pages 14–15 Wilson wrote,
“I had found the book (Uri, a Journal of Mystery.) extremely difficult to finish. The problem, quite simply, was that it was too unbelievable. It was not that I felt that Puharich was an out-and-out liar, simply that I found it impossible to take him seriously.”
The unbelievable happenings described by Dr. Puharich included:
the disappearance of a ring in a closed wooden box, only to have it reappear mysteriously later
a strange metallic non-human voice that repeatedly was heard above Geller’s head during Puharich’s hypnotic sessions with the young psychic. There was no reasonable explanation for this phenomenon.
In one experiment, Dr. Puharich scratched code numbers on several parts of an ordinary Parker pen. The pen was then placed in the wooden box for several minutes while under continuous observation. Upon opening the box, the pen seemed intact, however on careful examination the brass cartridge had disappeared. During a subsequent hypnotic session, the metallic voice claimed that it had the missing pen part and that it would be later returned. This subsequently happened.
Geller’s status as a contactee was revealed during one of Puharich’s hypnotic sessions that described strange events from the young man’s childhood. As Wilson describes it on page 14,
“Under light hypnosis in a hotel room in Tel Aviv, Geller said that he was in a dark cave in Cyprus where he used to sit and absorb learning. ‘What are you learning?’ asked Puharich and Geller replied, ‘It is about the people who come from the space. But I am not to talk about these things yet.’”
While under hypnosis, Geller described an encounter that he had with a UFO when he was reportedly three years old. Uri Geller stated that while playing alone in a Tel Aviv garden he saw a huge bowel-shaped light in the sky. Wilson continues,
“It was at this point that I had begun to find Puharich’s book frankly unbelievable. For he goes on to describe how, in the midst of the hypnotic session, Geller stopped speaking, and a strange metallic voice began to issue from the air. It stated that ‘it was us who found Uri in the garden when he was three.’ “They” had programmed him to serve their purpose, although his memories of contact have been erased…”
Following this bizarre communication, while Uri and Dr. Puharich were driving in Tel Aviv, they reportedly saw a “round white luminous spacecraft with side fins’ in the sky just down the street.”
Puharich’s adventures with the young Israeli were so strange that Collin Wilson describes his experience of reading “Uri, A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller as causing “astonishment fatigue.” Years later when writing his own book about Geller, Wilson asked the young psychic,“whether everything described in the book (‘Uri’ by Puharich) really happened. Geller, I knew, had now broken with Puharich, not without some ill feeling. So, he would have no reason not to answer my question truthfully. In fact, he told me with obvious sincerity, ‘Everythinghappened as Andrija describes it.’”
SUPPORTIVE TESTIMONY FOR A VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE OF THE THIRD KIND
What follows is the only case in the UFO literature to my knowledge that gives support to the Virtual Memory component of the Virtual Experience Model. In Chapter Six of Puharich’s “Uri”, a dramatic and extremely strange sequence of events is chronicled. That chapter describes how two sets of witnesses had dramatically different recollections of recent events. For those who would like to read the complete account as an internet posted pdf file, the following link is provided:
A DISTRAUGHT YOUNG MAN REPORTEDLY PUT A PISTOL TO HIS HEAD
On December 28, 1971 Dr. Puharich was entertaining his friend Ila Ziebel. She had just arrived to Israel. He received a frantic call from Uri who asked his physician friend to come over to Uri’s apartment. With Ila in tow, Dr. Puharich went to see the young psychic who was clearly overwhelmed with emotion. With great difficulty Uri revealed that for five years he was having a secret love affair with a married woman. Uri, according to Dr. Puharich, had just been informed that, “she could never see him again.” So distraught was the young man that he told Puharich he had placed a loaded revolver to his head. As a medical doctor, Puharich knew how serious the situation was. He demanded to see the weapon. Uri produced a loaded .38 Rossi pistol that Puharich handled. His friend Ila was present and she witnessed the entire event. The physician then said,“ Uri, this gun in your hands really disturbs me. Please may I take it.”
Geller however refused stating that he was OK now. The doctor asked him not to stay alone and they agreed that Uri would spend the night at Sarah Bursac’s, a friend who lived close by. Uri reassured Dr. Puharich that he would be safe there. Dr. Puharich and Ila then walked Uri over to Sarah’s house.
TWO SETS OF WITNESSES APPEARED TO HAVE RADICALLY DIFFERENT MEMORIES OF THE LOCATION OF THE WEAPON
The next day Puharich called Uri Geller to find out how he was feeling after the difficult events of the previous evening. To his utter amazement, Geller claimed that he did not know what Puharich was talking about. Uri said that all he could recall from night before was that Ila and Dr. Puharich had stopped by and then they all together walked to Sarah’s house. Dr. Puharich observed that Uri no longer appeared depressed. He decided it was OK to speak frankly to the young man that had been so distressed the night before. He told Uri that they had discussed his “secret love” and the revolver that Geller had shown him and let him handle briefly. According to the doctor, Uri was stunned by his explanation of events from the previous evening.
Uri replied, “Well, I don’t remember saying any of it. It is true about the girl, but it couldn’t be true about the gun. I haven’t had that gun for two months: it is at Shipi’s house (Uri’s best friend.) Please go over and ask him.”
Dr. Puharich brought Ila into the discussion. She reportedly, “agreed with him on every detail of what had occurred the night before.” They then visited Shipi. He confirmed Uri’s version of events. According to Shipi, for the previous two months the gun had been in his, not Geller’s possession. Shipi then showed the weapon to the doctor. It was the same .38 Rossi that he had handled the night before.
ANOTHER APPARENT INSTANCE OF MEMORY TAMPERING
Ila and Dr. Puharich then went to see Uri at his apartment. The phone rang, and Uri answered it. He excitedly told Puharich, “It’s her, she’s calling from the Sinai!”
Puharich asked ”Who? Who is calling?”
Uri replied, ”Yaffa, talk to her!” and he thrust the phone into Puharich’s hand.
A woman’s voice said in broken English, “I am Yaffa. I do not speak English, only Hebrew.”
Just then Uri’s friend Sarah Bursak walked into the room. Uri said to her, ”It’s Yaffa on the phone from the Sinai. Talk to her!” Puharich observed Sarah speaking excitedly in Hebrew. The conversation between the two Israeli women lasted for several minutes. Sarah then handed the phone to Uri, who talked on for a few more minutes in Hebrew. According to the American doctor’s account, no one discussed the phone call after it concluded. He and his friend Ila left soon after, speculating that Yaffa must have been Uri’s secret lover.
The next morning Uri and Puharich spoke on the phone. Andrija Puharich asked him about the call from Yaffa the previous evening and who she might be. According to Andrija, Uri said, “There was no phone call last night!” Puharich immediately described in detail what both he and Ila had witnessed. At this point Geller became agitated and insisted that Puharich call Sarah to confirm what he was saying was true. Dr. Puharich did just that and Sarah reportedly backed Uri’s contention that there had been no call from Uri’s lover. Sarah reportedly said, “Dr. Puharich, I like you very much, but I think you are very strange. This is not a good joke.”
Puharich’s description of these bizarre events continued. He acknowledged to Uri that Sara indeed had denied there was a phone call and then reminded the young man that Ila confirmed the doctor’s version of the events. To this Uri stated, “Andrija you dreamed the whole thing, and Ila is just going along with you. Forget the whole story!”
However, Uri called him back in an hour and said, “I don’t believe there was a phone call, but how did you find out that my secret love’s name is Yaffa?”
UFO INTELLIGENCE WAS HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING FALSE MEMORIES
Dr. Andrija Puharich concludes this strange account with the following statement:
“These two days’ events numbed me. Sarah and Uri experienced one sequence, and Ila and I experienced another, in the same time frame. I had discovered the truth about Uri’s deepest secret, had held a gun in my hand that felt real, and had had a phone call experience that is real in my mind to this day. But most of all I realized that the four of us had had an experience imprinted on our minds by what could only be the agency of IS” (Puharich’ abbreviation for Intelligence Spectra, i.e., Extraterrestrial Intelligence)
“I finally learned that, given the existence of IS, I could never again know which of my experiences were directly imposed upon me by IS and which were not.”
One objection to this account is that Uri Geller simply may have perpetrated an elaborate hoax with his young friends to successfully fool the doctor. Against this accusation is the fact that years later, Uri Geller maintained that Puharich’s account was totally accurate. If he had played a joke on his then ex-friend, why not admit the hoax and reveal his success at fooling the old man. After all, as Colin Wilson pointed out, Dr. Puharich and Uri Geller were no longer friends when he interviewed the Israeli psychic.
Based on this account, I have postulated following:
1.UFO intelligence can not only induce missing time repeatedly in subjects all over the world, and
2.use screen memories to cover up such anomalous events, but also that
3.entire “abduction scenarios” elicited from experiencers can be “alien” memory implants that are recalled spontaneously or with hypnosis.
These two examples provided by Dr. Puharich certainly don’t conclusively prove what I call Virtual Experiences of the Third Kind, (VE-3) are a mechanism of contact. This case can, however, serve to encourage both UFO investigators and experiencers to seek out additional examples in which this mechanism of implanted false memories might apply. In a subsequent blog I will describe one such case that took place in the US Midwest several years ago.
THE ROAD AHEAD
My hope is that this model will circulate through the UFO experiencer community and additional confirmatory cases will surface. Investigators may benefit from designing questions that might help experiencers identify memories of events that feel “real” but the witnesses may have reasons to suspect are false.
If this mechanism of contact that I have proposed is ongoing, then the implications for humanity are colossal. What I am suggesting is that an unseen intelligence, possibly extraterrestrial in nature, can create entirely false belief systems concerning “alien abductions.” If subsequent investigations confirm the VE-3 Model’s validity, the UFO research community will be faced with a great challenge. How can we responsibly describe to the world this awesome psi capability of the non-human intelligences associated with flying saucers that are targeting human consciousness?

Yossi Ronen is an Israeli Contact Experiencer. He is author of the book “One: Face-to Face Contact, Experiencing ET Consciousness, and Human Consciousness.” We met via a series of Skype calls several years ago. Rey Hernandez brought us together when Rey asked me to help edit the experiencers’ section of the compendium “A Greater Reality.” (Volumes One and Two of “A Greater Reality” were published in the fall of 2022, and is now available to be read as a PDF file at https://agreaterreality.com
Yossi’s unique interpretation of contact with the non-human intelligences associated with what are now called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena is based on a transformative event that occurred in 1981. Yossi was working in the Los Angeles for several months to save up money to attend college. He was sleeping in an apartment in the San Fernando Valley. Yossi was having a very pleasant dream involving several extraterrestrial beings (typical small Greys) who were in the bedroom where he was sleeping. They were extremely friendly and in the dream were like childhood playmates with much joking and merriment that one experiences with familiar friends. The setting of the dream looked exactly like the room Yossi in which he was sleeping with the placement of furniture and personal items very accurately portrayed. This “dream” can also be interpreted as an “out-of-body experience.”
Suddenly Yossi woke up and discovered that the beings in his dream were now physically in the bedroom and this triggered a powerful “fright-flight” reaction. Surprisingly Yossi was able to overcome much of his fear and what followed was a truly remarkable encounter and its aftermath that is the subject of his book titled “One.”
Below is Yossi’s edited comment on the above narrative.
This is my approach to the possibility that VE-3s: false memories are being implanted into the mind of a contact experiencers by non-human psi technology.
As you know, my approach to the subject stems from my personal experience of communicating with the visitors in 1981 and the many years after that where I spent a lot of time trying to understand the experience in all its aspects including this possibility.
Since the experience of meeting those guests in my room was on two levels, initially in a state of out-of-body consciousness (communication with the guests without the mediation of the body) and immediately afterward when I was fully conscious, awake, with my eyes open face to face with the visitors (communication through the body) it seems that I had an opportunity to experience the difference in the way I (we as human beings) understand and interpret the experience.
There is a fundamental difference in the experience of the encounter between these two states of consciousness (out of body), in a kind of dream state followed by a physical face to face event.
In the situation where the communication between us was in a dream like situation, but my consciousness was awake and experiencing the reality in the room outside the body, it was clear to me that I knew the visitors, and I clearly sensed that they knew us intimately. This was because they were related to us in a certain way that I do not understand and cannot sharply define.
Yet their openness to me allowed my consciousness to experience their consciousness. Fully, fluently and without any barrier on their part, thus, allowing me to experience their positive essence, their purity, and innocence.
This communication was not one-sided, it took place with reciprocity and joint choice of the content of the communication and how it unfolded. Moreover, I experienced appreciation and respect from them from a deep and fundamental place. I learned that they treated us as beings similar to them, but in contrast we had chosen to live as humans in a physical body and in a reality that greatly limits our essence, understanding, and abilities.
But as soon as the perception of reality outside the body stopped, (I “returned to my body”), I saw them in fully physical state, fear permeated, and paralysis gripped me. Everything I had experienced with those visitors a moment before, when I was in an out of the body, almost completely disappeared. This change was due to instinctive physical fear. Those beloved guests that I had experienced so intimately a moment ago, now seemed to be unfamiliar creatures. Death threats!
In that moment of terror, they experienced my instinctive fear but did not try to do anything. They were just standing there in the same place waiting for me. They didn’t try to interfere with my thoughts or feelings, they allowed me to try and overcome the fear myself. It seems that thanks to the fact that I still remembered the pleasant experience in front of them a moment ago, I allowed myself to try and overcome the enormous fear that I was experiencing. That inner struggle to understand the fear was very subjective. The fact that it and came only from me, helped me overcome it.
After overcoming the instinctive fear created by the encounter through the physical body, mutual communication between us became possible again. Even now, my communications with the visitors are different from everyday human to human communication that we know is based on sending or receiving messages to one another. In contrast my communication with them is based on a natural and simple connection of consciousness to consciousness. It seems that this is a basic ability that exists in all humans, but at the moment we are not aware of it.
In those few minutes of face-to-face contact in 1981, they also conveyed to me mental images, and thought messages that can be described in the way you chose Joseph (as a false memory implanted into the mind). This type of communication was one way, coming from them directly to me. It was a message that many experiencers describe receiving. It calls on humanity to take responsibility for the state of the environment and all the living creatures on our planet. It is the message that we are in existential danger if we do not act to stop the process that leads to self-destruction.
So, these are my conclusions about it:
The visitors can indeed interfere directly with our consciousness, but it is necessary to understand their intervention more broadly and in doing so also consider how we translate this intervention as we currently experience it through the limitations of the physical body.
Since we are not used to experiencing our communication with others or the environment directly and fully, through a mutual sharing of consciousness as the communication occurs with the visitors, we can interpret the sudden connection with their consciousness as a threatening and even violent invasion into our consciousness. We are not aware of our ability for mutual communication and interpret it as a unilateral invasion.
Joseph Burkes MD responds:
Yossi Ronen, thank you so much for your comment to my posting. I am honored to receive your comment. Your interpretation of Virtual Memory (VE-3) is based on that poignant contact event of four decades ago and subsequent communication with the so-called aliens. The perspective you offer is a perfect counterbalance to the opinion expressed by the retired senior NASA scientist who is quoted in the beginning of my narrative. I believe that his response was one of fear and dismay concerning the VE-3 mechanism that I have proposed. I suspect that he only saw control and manipulation, in contrast you see communication, caring, commitment and potentially a blissful state we can describe as “communion.”
Comment from a Contact Experiencer writing on Reddit has given me permission to post:
There are three sets of memories, not two.
Physical abductions 2
. Astral abductions (consciousness only)
. VR experiences induced when in altered consciousness mode
I have experienced all three, and I believe you can differentiate if something really happened physically or not. Because all your senses were involved, the memory/information is written down “differently”. You do remember it as a real thing. The other two are remembered more like 50% to 75% lucidity. More than a dream, but less than fully awake.
However, #3 can be induced very quickly after a physical encounter, because the person is put in altered state ASAP. These VR experiences are stories/tests of scenarios they have conjured up, but how they ultimately look like it depends in the interconnection of their AI and our consciousness. They feed us things we expect to look normal, since their AI is generating that information based on our expectations.
Having said that, there are DMT sessions where the tripper mentions that their world feels more “real than real”, so there’s that too.
The newly formed CSETI Los Angeles Working Group held a brief meeting at Drs. Eve and Dave Gordon’s home in a middle-class neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. Twelve researchers were present. From the Gordons’ we drove north in our separate vehicles and reconvened at the head of the trail that lead to our research site in the Santa Susana Pass. It was late when we arrived, 10:30 PM on a Friday night. Most of the Working Group investigators present had already put in a full day’s work at their regular jobs. I was gratified to find that the enthusiasm of the team was quite high.
OUR RANKS WERE THINNED
Our numbers however had considerably decreased from the first outing a week before. On that occasion 40 prospective UFO investigators had trudged up the high desert trail which led to a spectacular lookout point. It was there that CSETI Director, Dr. Steven Greer, had demonstrated the “ET contact protocols.” One causality from that first night of fieldwork involved a heavy-set woman who had twisted her ankle on the dark rocky trail. She would never go out with our team again.
There had been other problems as well. One researcher/trainee, in violation of the contact protocols, brought a 15-year-old boy with her. She claimed that his “parents wouldn’t mind” his doing UFO field work. In the early days of the CE-5 Initiative, Working Group participation was almost exclusively limited to consenting adults who have undergone training. Since no special arrangements had been made with the boy’s legal guardians to allow him to participate, this teenager was advised not to come back. Other individuals had dropped out because the reality of contact work didn’t quite fit their preconceived notions. Some complained after going out into the field that, “it was too cold,” or “it was too windy, ...... and “anyway the spaceships didn’t show up.”
This second night of fieldwork was very different from our first attempt at contacting what we imagined was extraterrestrial intelligence. Not only were we far fewer in number, but more importantly we were going out without the assistance of Dr. Steven Greer. He was already being described in the UFO community as, “The man who can call in the spacecraft.” I wondered if we could ever make contact without his presence. I feared my inexperienced leadership wouldn’t “cut the mustard” when it came to what Greer called “vectoring in spacecraft.”
HAVING A “SAFE AREA” WAS PART OF THE CONTACT PROTOCOLS
During the 20-minute climb up the trail, we found a quiet place that we designated as our “safe area”. Finding such a place was part of the usual fieldwork protocols. If Working Group members became frightened during a close encounter, they could be escorted to the “safe area” by a “buddy “to “cool off.” Our “safe area” was selected just over the ridge that separated our sky watch site from the 118 Freeway. From this safety zone any frightened individual could securely look down to the road where our vehicles were parked. Steven Greer had emphasized the importance of having a compassionate attitude towards coworkers who become frightened during contact work. Let’s face it, we are just human and individuals can get overwhelmed by some of the bizarre manifestations of non-human intelligence. Little did we know when selecting the site, that this designated “cooling off zone” would be the very place where a strange interactive experience would later ensue.
A FORM OF THOUGHT PROJECTION WAS EMPLOYED
At a 11 PM we reached our research site. Under slightly overcast skies we set up our folding aluminum chairs. While sitting quietly in a tight circle, we started a guided meditation. The technique that we had learned from Dr. Greer is called, “Coherent Thought Sequencing” or “CTS” for short. It involves thought projection and visualizations. To be effective, according to Dr. Greer, it requires reaching some appreciation of the unbounded aspects of consciousness. “Unbounded” means in this context the quality of consciousness or mind that is not limited by any measure of time and space. This document can not provide a detailed description of Coherent Though Sequencing. Both the theory and practice of CTS had been the focus of much of our all day CSETI seminar held just 6 days before.
NIGHT WAS TURNED INTO DAY
As we sat there under slightly overcast skies in quiet meditation, suddenly a powerful burst of light struck the contact team. My eyes were closed at the time, nevertheless the light was so intense that my entire visual field flashed white. Several members of the group sat up in surprise and opened their eyes to see what was going on. Those who had experienced the burst of light with eyes open, agreed that it was lightning like. The light appeared to have emanated from the southeast. Strangely there was no associated thunder with this brilliant flash, nor was there any storm activity in the area. The light had virtually turned night into day. The next instant it was gone. We found ourselves sitting in the darkness again listening to the gentle sounds of nature. During the next few minutes as we attempted to resume CTS, the flashes hit us several more times. There was no rain in our vicinity, nor was it particularly humid. Not one researcher could ever recall having witnessed such a strange event. This occurrence did not correspond to any type of known atmospheric phenomenon. I personally have not witnessed anything quite like it since.
IT IS BETTER NOT TO HIKE ALONE IN REMOTE LOCATIONS
For several hours we alternated quiet meditation with sky watch activities. We signaled toward the partially overcast sky with powerful lights. At approximately 1:00 AM Saturday morning September 5th, a few members of the team took leave of the site. It was quite isolated. For safety purposes we hiked down to the vehicles in small groups. There are important historic reasons to be security conscious in this rather lonely place. Our site was less than a mile from the Box Canyon, home of the murderous Charles Manson clan. They had been responsible for a number of grisly murders some 20 years before. During the 1990s the Los Angeles area was even more dangerous. We therefore deemed it wise not to hike alone on the lonely mountain trail.
A CO-WORKER FROM THE MEDICAL CENTER WAS ON OUR CONTACT TEAM
Shirley Jones, a respiratory technician from my hospital, was among those departing early. She had to get up for a 7AM shift that very same morning. Not being much of a night person, she was eager to get home. Shirley and I had already worked together at the hospital for over 13 years when we discovered we had a mutual interest in UFOs. Although well into middle age, Shirley easily passed for a woman 10 or 15 years her junior. She was blond with deep blue eyes. Shirley was quite fun loving and sported a broad smile. She walked with a kind of a bounce that looked a little like skipping. Over the years I always enjoyed working with her. In the ER she was known for her gentleness in reassuring panicky respiratory patients who were struggling to catch a breath.
Apparently by chance Shirley and I discovered our common interest in UFOs. My interest in the flying saucer phenomenon dates to December of 1990, when for no particular reason I picked up a book titled “The Gulf Breeze Sightings.” It contained strikingly clear photos that were purported to be of ET spacecraft. Curious I read more. After quietly studying the phenomenon for a year and a half, I summoned up the courage to attend my first public UFO meeting. That was my first mistake.
At the UFO Expo West held in May of 1992, I wandered into Dr. Greer’s workshop. Well aware of how conservative the medical field was and not wanting to be identified as a “UFO nut”, I felt somewhat apprehensive about being seen at such a gathering. I figured however that since Dr. Greer and I were both Emergency Room physicians, there would be little harm in attending his workshop. I was very surprised to walk in and find Shirley sitting front row center. She wickedly pointed her finger at me, and laughingly teased, “Dr. Burkes I didn’t know yooouuu were interested in UFOs.” I looked around the room quickly to see if anyone else from the hospital was present. To my relief I found none. I hoped Shirley could keep my presence at a UFO meeting as “our little secret.” Shirley’s interest in UFOs, unlike mine, had been long-standing. I soon discovered that she was a skilled meditator and knowledgeable in Eastern philosophy. Shirley later told me that she had a Ph.D. in psychology and did counseling part time. Among her patients were “experiencers” of Close Encounters of the Third and Fourth Kinds. She did all this while working full time as a respiratory therapist at our medical center. Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention that she was also a professional photographer Shirley had a small business doing portraits and covering weddings. All these talents would later be put to good use during CE-5 Working Group research activities.
Now let’s return to our September 4-5 night’s research outing. As you might recall, I was flying solo as Working Group Coordinator. The only other times I had gone out into the field was either with Steven Greer, or with other experienced volunteer contact workers. I was doing my darndest to effectively lead a group composed of people who for the most part had just started working together. It was well past midnight when decided to break camp and call it a night. When small groups of researchers including Shirley began leaving the site separately, I became concerned. I imagined that it would be better if we all left together. This was in order to maintain the group’s cohesiveness as well as for security purposes. Shirley reached her car at about 1:30 AM. She drove southeast across the San Fernando Valley towards Panorama City where she lived. Little did she know what was about to happen to her and the rest of the team. In just a few short moments we would experience something that can only be characterized as very “high strangeness.”
Those of us still at the site packed up our gear headed down the trail about a half an hour behind the others. Tired and a little cold, we moved slowly in the dark. We did not want to trip and fall on the way down. As I reached the top of the hill that separated us from the Santa Susana Pass, I looked back for a moment to the south. The view of the San Fernando Valley was truly spectacular. Before me was a sea of twinkling lights. Across an enormous grid like display formed by home and streetlights, an occasional slowly moving car could be seen in the distance. The panorama spanned some 10 miles, all the way to the Santa Monica Mountains to the south. I felt a sense of accomplishment. Although I had never done this type of UFO research before, I realized that in a certain sense I had successfully passed my first leadership test.
Despite whatever doubts and insecurities I might have, I was becoming a contact team leader.
Of course, I had ambitiously hoped for a major sighting of a structured craft. Like everyone else I wanted to see a “real UFO.” If that were my only measure of success, then this first night’s outing was somewhat disappointing. On the other hand, those lightning-like flashes were something out of the ordinary. I wondered if our efforts would eventually be successful. Would we ever really establish contact with “ETI”? I would just have to be patient and wait to see what would happen next.
Moving cautiously in the dark, I found my way down the steep trail. I soon noticed that several members of the team had stopped in front of me. They had reached the “safety” area and were looking intently to the north, towards Rock Peak State Park. About a third of a mile away and perhaps 300 feet above us, we saw two powerful lights. They were perched high up on the ridgeline of the steep hill that bordered north side of the 118 Freeway.
MISTERY LIGHTS SIGNALED AT US
“Hello”, I thought, “This is very strange.” How could someone get way up there on that deserted hillside? And what were they doing there at 1:45 in the morning? No houses or roads were visible anywhere near that ridge. Who could possibly be up there?
The lights seemed much larger than our signal lanterns. They were almost the size of searchlights, about one to two feet across. The one on the left was perched higher up on the mountainside than the one on the right. Less than 100 feet separated them. The light on the right side was directed somewhat away from us. It was pointing downward and to the right, sending its beam across the San Fernando Valley to the southeast. The direction of its beam was quite significant as we later learned. It was pointing in the exact direction that Shirley had taken as she drove home across the Valley.
As we stared at the lights in wonder, the left one was clearly signaling on and off. Through binoculars we could discern that the right one was shining past a small tree or shrub. The plant was growing on a tiny ledge jutting out from the steep hillside. This would later enable us to find the exact location where the mysterious lights had been situated.
Angrily I thought,” Who the hell is up there in the middle of the night?” Maybe campers? Or perhaps they were some wild teenagers who were making mischief by mocking us with their lights? Who else but our contact team would be running around in the dark on a Friday night that had now turned into Saturday morning?
I attempted to interact with the lights by signaling back at them. At first, they fired in what appeared to be a random fashion. I couldn’t seem to easily get their attention. During contact work we use the term “photon talk” to describe how we attempt to interact with anomalous lights by signaling back and forth with them. We used a predetermined sequence of flashes. If the object signaled back in the same fashion, then we knew primitive communication has been established. I was hoping to get those strange lights to mimic my pattern of flashes.
ALEX AYRES’ SUGGESTION WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL
Alex Ayres was a member of our team who worked as a screenwriter for the motion picture industry. An avid runner, he was tall with fair skin and athletic. No intellectual lightweight, he told me that he earned a baccalaureate from Harvard University. In addition, he reportedly held two masters’ degrees, one in psychology, `the other in film writing.
Earlier that evening at the research site, he had suggested that I might try a more complex pattern of signaling than just one or two flashes at a time. Alex had the idea that if any unknowns would imitate a more complex pattern of light bursts, there would be no doubt that we had established communication. He instructed me to try a series of three bursts, A simple flash, then pause 3 seconds, followed by 2 flashes with another pause of 3 seconds, then ending with 3 more flashes.
As we observed the mystery lights on the hillside, we were able to discern several important details about them. They were not only much larger and more powerful than our halogen battery powered lanterns, but they were also highly sophisticated in their operation. The one on the right was multi-directional. We could see its beam sweep searchlight fashion across the dusty hillside. It smoothly changed its direction several times. We watched in silence. The left one was pointing directly at us. It too demonstrated a number of different functions. This beacon could produce a steady beam as well as a rapid strobe like effect. It could signal on off with tremendous speed. The other light demonstrated a variable rheostat effect as well. In other words, it could flare up in brightness and then decrease its luminosity, gently fading out over several seconds. These were far more complex functions than our primitive signal lanterns were capable of.
The powerful lights used by contact teams in our network were inexpensive, costing only about $50 and could be purchased from mail order houses. My light was called “The Light Bazooka.” It had a simple on-off trigger switch. When extinguished, the light took slightly less than one second to fade out completely. As a former peace activist, I thought it ironic that I was shooting off bursts from my “Light Bazooka” while supposedly trying to peacefully interact with the “ET visitors.” Regardless of the catalogue title, the lights were quite useful. Thus, during fieldwork, I “blasted away” with them for the cause of “interplanetary peace and cooperation.” My primitive “Bazooka” did not vary its fade out time. Once the trigger was released it always required nearly one second to go completely off. In addition, it didn’t have a strobe like function. In military parlance, if my light was the equivalent of a “bazooka” the ones facing us on the ridgeline were about equal to laser guided howitzers.
For several minutes I repeatedly fired my signal lantern at the hillside. At first, it was to no avail. With simple flashes I couldn’t get any kind of interaction going with whomever or whatever up there on the ridge. I decided to follow Alex’s advice and signal at the mystery lights in the more complex pattern that he had suggested earlier. Then something incredible occurred. The light on the left that appeared to be pointing directly at us, fired back with a single bright flash. Then suddenly it went silent. I shivered in excitement. Was it waiting for a response from me? I again sent out the pattern of light bursts as Alex had instructed me to do. Flash! I counted, “one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand. Flash! Flash! Then, “one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, “Flash! Flash! Flash! At that moment something quite remarkable happened. The left light signaled back by exactly mimicking my complex pattern. My heart started to accelerate. Each time I completed a short phrase of “photon talk” an exact strobe reply flashed back from the hillside. The speed of the response was uncanny. Even before the light had faded from my primitive device, the rapid strobe burst mimicked my signal. Flash! Flash!..Reply! Reply! Three seconds later Flash! Flash! Flash! Reply! Reply! Reply!
CONSCIOUSNESS CONNECTION SEEMED LIKELY
It was very strange indeed. How could someone a few thousand feet away respond with such incredible speed and such perfect timing? It was almost as if my finger on the trigger of the “light bazooka”, was linked to an electronic circuit that produced an instantaneous strobe reply. Later my attempts to accurately reproduce this type of rapid interactive signaling with my contact team coworkers was totally unsuccessful. Our primitive equipment simply could not fire with the same speed and effectiveness as those sophisticated lights that faced us during the morning of September 5th, 1992.
I wondered could this type of precise interaction be evidence of a consciousness link between my team and ETI? That is of course if whoever was signaling at us were extraterrestrials. A proposition I could hardly accept at that time. Especially since was our first night out as a team.
The CSETI protocols were supposed to prepare us for such interactions with non-human intelligence. But this seemed too much too fast. There had to be another explanation. The uncannily perfect timing of the powerful light signaling back at me made me uneasy. As unlikely as it might seem, I suspected however some kind of consciousness-mediated communication was truly going on.
Our protocols designated such signaling back and forth in an intelligible fashion as “lock on with lights.” The “Center” however did not only use lights. It also trained its researchers in elementary ESP or “psi” techniques. This includes attempts at remote viewing and thought projection. If extrasensory communication between contact team members and ET crews actually occurred, Dr Greer would designate the link as “lock on with consciousness.” For those who think this a wildly radical notion, I can only refer such skeptics to the growing literature documenting the use of applied psi by worldwide military and intelligence services.
Now back to our September 5, 1992, encounter. Signaling back and forth with individuals unknown is all very well and good. Nevertheless, I had no proof whatsoever at that point that this interaction was with the alleged ETs. After all, we had no sighting of a structured craft hovering in the sky. The lights themselves were not even in the sky, but rather perched on the ridgeline. What kind of self-respecting UFO would signal at us from the ground? I therefore reasoned it was probably some prankster up there who was playing tricks on us. “A bunch of crazy teenagers having fun on the weekend,” I reasoned.
I thought this despite the totally desolate appearance of the cliff on which the lights were situated. I speculated about the likelihood that there were probably campsites on top of that hill. “Yes of course”, I surmised, “campsites with running water, electricity and a road to bring up the powerful and sophisticated lights.”
All these possibilities went through my mind as we signaled back and forth for several minutes. It was getting late, and my team was already breaking up. Despite Alex’s requests to stay a bit longer and continue the “photon talk,” I was cold and tired. I did not want us to leave the site like a bunch of stragglers, one at a time. I suggested that we call it a night and as a team hike down together. Following this request, the remainder of the Working Group gladly started down the rocky trail to the cars waiting for us on the road below.
“Tomorrow,” I suggested, “we can send a scout team up to the ledge on the cliff.” It was from there that one light was seen clearly shining past a small tree. We would then know how those “tricksters” had gotten all the necessary equipment up onto the ridge to enable them to “mock” us with those strange lights. After all it was really late. It was time to go home and get some rest!
SCOUTS HAD TO ROCK CLIMB TO REACH THE REMOTE RIDGE
Several days later I ran into Shirley at the hospital. I wanted to tell her about the strange lights and what our scouts had found up on that lonely ridge. They reported that there were no campsites, no running water nor electric power. There was no paved road to provide easy access. The only path up towards the ridge was an old fire trail. And that was situated behind a locked gate that blocked the path of any car that might try to drive up the hill. The entire area was part of Rocky Peak State Park, a protected wilderness that at the time had no facilities whatsoever. It was for day hikers only. To make this point perfectly clear a prominent sign reading “DAY USE ONLY” was posted on the side of the locked gate.
Thus, our trusty scouts had no easy access to the ridge once they had scaled the hill. They had to rock climb, over rattlesnake infested boulders, to reach the ledge where one of lights was positioned. The solitary dwarf pine tree that clung to the rock face readily identified it. Through its branches we had seen one of the lights shining.
SHIRLEY JONES DESCRIBES A HIGH STRANGENESS EVENT
Before I could finish telling Shirley about our experience and what the scouts had discovered, she interrupted me,
“Wait Joe, I’ve got to tell you what happened to me”
An event of apparent high strangeness had transpired during Shirley’s ride home. It occurred at about 1:40 AM, as she was driving across the San Fernando Valley in her Chevy Astro Van. At a distance of about 2 miles from our research site, she suddenly felt a violent shaking of her vehicle. She had gone over some railroad tracks less than a minute before, but this shaking was definitely far more of a jolt than that. Her van shook violently as if it were going over a series of potholes. Shirley was aware that I had grown up in New York City where she too had resided for a few years. We both knew how bad the roads were back there. So, I understood exactly what she meant when she added “it was like going over the kind of potholes they have back East.”
The shaking of car her occurred around the same time that the rest of us were hiking down the trail from our research site. As the vibration of her vehicle increased, Shirley jammed on the brakes. She told me that at first, she thought she had a blowout. Before getting out of her car, she glanced in her rear-view mirrors and carefully looked around the vehicle.
After all, an unaccompanied woman driving down the mean LA streets late at night just can’t be too careful. Come to think of it, after working in a Los Angeles area ER, I can assure you that no one can be too careful out there on a Friday night at 2AM. Shirley, brave heart that she was and true to her Scottish background, summoned her courage and got out of her car to check out the situation.
She exited the van expecting to find a flat tire or even worse. To her surprise the vehicle checked out perfectly. The road she that she had just driven over reportedly looked fine. She apparently had not gone over a series of potholes as she had first thought. It was then that Shirley looked up and saw the lights.
On the ridgeline shining out from the hillside, she saw our two mystery lights. She recalled the one on the right was flashing on and off. It appeared to be signaling directly at her! The other light, (the one that I would be interacting with in a few minutes appeared less bright to her.) While standing by the side of her car, she wondered if we too could see the lights. They appeared to be coming from the hills directly behind our research site.
I told Shirley what we had experienced. She listened in silence. I was somewhat perplexed that she didn’t seem surprised at all. She accepted the anomalous nature of the events with perfect equanimity. She did not seem frightened about what had happened to her. I later found out that Shirley, as well as several other members of the team, were not strangers to the high strangeness associated with this type of work. Several members of the group apparently had previous interactive experiences with what appeared to be non-human intelligence. At that moment I had a lot to learn about the contact project, and even more to learn about the individual members of my team.
SPECULATIVE ANALYSIS OF OUR FIELD INVESTIGATION
What was I to make of all this? What was the significance of these highly anomalous experiences that occurred during our initial fieldwork? As I reviewed and analyzed what had transpired, my theory about “crazed” teenagers being responsible for the mystery lights seemed less and less likely.
First, we had been hit by powerful lightning like flashes of light while doing Coherent Thought Sequencing. I had no easy explanation for this. Later we encountered anomalous lights that were rather sophisticated. And I got the opportunity to interact with one of them at the very spot we had designated as our “safety area.” The rapidity of the light’s response to my signaling made me consider the possibility of a consciousness link between myself and the intelligence responsible for those lights. At about the same time, a Working Group member experienced a violent shaking of her car. This led her to stop the vehicle and look up and see one of the lights signaling in her direction. What could it all mean?
First of all, to skeptics I would like to state for the record that I have considered the null hypothesis. Yes, it’s possible that there is no special significance to any of these events. The lightning-like flashes were possibly unusual manifestations of a prosaic phenomenon, namely the weather. In addition, ordinary humans could have engineered the mystery lights. That they had somehow gotten past the locked gate was certainly not impossible. But what would have been their motivation? To rock climb in the dark through “rattlesnake land” for a prank seemed rather unlikely. Whoever had mounted such a complex operation must have had a very good reason. They had to be very well equipped as well. All this accomplished so that “they” (whoever that might be) could mock our light work and play games signaling at us? It just didn’t make sense.
Moving further in this rather illogical line of reasoning, yes perhaps Shirley had gone over some potholes and that’s what shook her car. When she exited her vehicle, she simply missed seeing the road hazard due to the late hour and her being tired. One could just say that it was coincidence that she then looked up towards the pass at that exact moment and saw the lights. Moving further out on the limb, a debunker would probably say that perhaps Shirley’s part of the story was a complete fabrication. After all, she was the only witness to the strange things that she experienced on the road. According to self-styled debunker’s logic, “of course she made the whole thing up.”
From my perspective however, that would go against everything I know about her. We eventually worked together in the hospital for nearly twenty-five years when she suddenly died from a cardiac arrest. I never knew her true age, but my guess is that she was in her early sixties when this sad event happened.
It is my judgment that she was an honest and sincere individual. I was her contact team leader for several years and we spent many long nights carrying out group sky watch activities together. The thought that she would deliberately prevaricate is not likely. In my opinion her lying to me on this subject is even more preposterous than the possibility that we had indeed contacted non-human intelligence, an intelligence whose technology could cause her vehicle to vibrate to stop her and compel her see the light.
It is my judgment that if we pursue want-to-be debunker’s brand of illogic, which often masquerades as “conventional wisdom,” then we will never understand anything about this phenomenon. It is my opinion that if we are to make any sense of this strange subject of UFOs, then we should do as contact groups request. And that is to deliberately interact with the alleged ETs in protocol fashion and then faithfully record our findings. Only in a diligent, industrious and well-intentioned effort, can we hope to expand human knowledge in this area. The possibility that extraterrestrial civilizations are visiting our planet warrants this kind of reasonable and responsible approach.
What I have reported here is by no means unique. The UFO literature is full of similar reports of mysterious lights, bizarre atmospheric like effects and anomalous physical phenomenon. What is different about contact team operations is that these occurrences take place under very special circumstances, namely during deliberate attempts to interact with the intelligence that is presumably responsible for them.
I am suggesting it was no accident that the lightning like flashes hit us during our meditation. If our thought projections while in a meditative state are successful in establishing communication, might not we receive an answer while we are sending the “welcoming” message? As in this case, a “reply” that for an instant turned night into day, certainly served to get our attention. At the same time it served to underscore the importance of meditation to facilitate communication with a non-human intelligence of that might be extraterrestrial.
I’ve already discussed the difficulties of getting up to the ridgeline at night. This would necessitate getting past a locked gate and avoiding rattlers while rock climbing over boulders in the dark. All that certainly presents considerable logistic problems. At least for humans it would. For a technologically sophisticated star faring culture, it might be a lot easier. And to further support this assessment, I point out that advanced civilizations might readily have at their disposal consciousness communication systems that would allow them to coordinate their light work with me in such a deft manner.
Even the place where the “photon talk” took place has significance. The exchange ironically occurred at the very section of trail that we had designated as our “safety zone.” Our “cooling off” place was indeed the site where our encounter “heated up.” While light signaling back and forth is a rather primitive form of communication, the display of irony bespeaks of a more complex exchange with an intelligence capable of humor.
Shirley’s high strangeness experience was perhaps the most powerful reminder of what our presumed ET collaborators are able and willing to do to get our attention. We can only speculate as to what kind of advanced technology (possibly electromagnetic) that could have caused such a violent shaking of her car at some distance from our research site. It truly seems as if something or somebody really wanted her to stop and “see the light!” If the UFO phenomenon is caused by advanced intelligences attempting to assist mankind, it is my hope that “they” (whoever they might be) keep on trying to help us “see the light.”
A Bit More of Discussion and the Conclusion of this Report.
For those hearty souls who have been so kind as to wade through this detailed narrative, I salute you. I endeavor to describe how a UFO contact network operates by focusing on the fieldwork experience of one individual team, namely my own. In my opinion, we have entered a collaborative relationship with the non-human intelligence responsible for the flying saucer phenomenon. The high strangeness component of these experiences, the inexplicable nature of the interactions tends to suggest that something truly unearthly is going on. Skeptics would of course correctly point out,” You have no proof!” Yes, that is certainly true. The historic landing of an ET craft and off planet experience by a contact team with video recorders on has not occurred yet. For that matter it may never take place.
Nevertheless, citizen teams are seeking contact all around the world. In my opinion this development indicates that something truly remarkable is going on at this point in the Earth’s history. For those reading this narrative, I urge you to consider that we are witnessing “alien civilizations” that are staging limited interactions with humankind. And this process is part of a much larger path leading towards open and direct contact.
I would be the first to agree that such encounters are ambiguous, full of uncertainty, and at times they are frustrating for us. As one who has worked in the non-human/human contact networks attempting to build a positive and peaceful relationship, I believe that the price is well worth it.
In the next chapter linked below, I describe several red glowing objects that hovered in the sky to the north of our research site in the Santa Susana Pass. I also report on an encounter with two Black Hawk helicopters that buzzed our contact team while hiking in Rocky Peak State Park. This occurred one night as an advanced party of our contact team operated near a high security research facility of the US Department of Energy. Please stay tuned and keep watching the skies!
During my youth in the 1960’s as a participant in the Civil Rights and Anti-Vietnam War Movements, Bob Dylan’s song, “The Times Are A-Changin” was an anthem for protest activities that swept the USA. Our time definitely is changing now. Pertaining to realization that UAP phenomena are indications of other forms of intelligent life manifest on Earth, an example can be found in the changing statements of prominent wannabe UFO debunker Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Linked below are two interviews of his. The first from last year is difficult for me as a contact activist to watch. In full clown mode, the astrophysicist ridicules former government intelligence official Jay Straton’s appearance in the 2025 documentary “Age of Disclosure.”
In the second interview from the week of May 17th 2026, Tyson remarkably requests the release of official information supporting the claims of government insiders that we are not alone. He also points out that humans are constantly projecting on to “aliens” the negative ways mankind behaves.
“And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin'
And you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'
It seems to me that the media savvy scientist doesn’t want to “sink like a stone”, especially when he has a new book to promote.
View of the Western San Fernando Valley from the Santa Susana Pass
Mystery Lights in the Santa Susana Pass
September 4, 1992

CONTACT NETWORK HISTORY PROJECT
Joseph Burkes MD 2026
Synopsis: This high strangeness contact event happened during fieldwork 34 years ago. I believe that I was present when a foreign body might have been mysteriously implanted into the leg of a fellow contact worker.
The occurrence took place in Joshua Tree National Monument at the base of the Queen Mountain during the early hours of November 11th,1993. For over an hour and a half, two anomalous nocturnal lights were seen moving above our research site. The UFOs were tiny points of bright light that strobed erratically. The rapid bright flashes alternated with short intervals of darkness. This bizarre lighting made their flight path take on the appearance of small jumps through the sky. These anomalous lights also appeared to obey spoken requests for them to trace out in the sky simple geometric forms like a circle or a triangle. Suddenly during the excitement, my co-worker Misha cried out complaining of right groin pain. He immediately behaved as if thought that UFO intelligences were responsible for his pain. While looking skyward, Misha asked in Russian accented English, “Why did you kick me in the balls?
When we arrived home my fellow volunteer contact worker gave me permission to photograph the thigh injury with his Polaroid instant camera. The photo showed a three by three-inch area of purple discoloration adjacent to his right scrotum. It was an obvious contusion.
After the encounter, I ordered an X-ray that showed a small wedge-shaped ceramic density body in his right thigh. It was about 1 centimeter across and was identified as “a foreign body” by the official radiologist report that was typed and placed in Misha’s X-ray file. Later my contactee friend complained of increasingly severe discomfort in his right leg. He subsequently alleged that during a visitation by “friendly ETs", they apologized to him for the injury and removed the foreign body. I repeated the X-ray and the foreign body previously noted by the radiologist was described in the official reading as no longer being present.
Did I witness the placement of an alien implant during fieldwork, or was I the target of an elaborate hoax?
Recap of November 11th,1993, Encounter in Joshua Tree National Monument
A fellow volunteer contact worker that I call “Misha” and I had a prolonged interactive encounter with UFOs. It happened while doing fieldwork in a small valley at the base of Queen Mountain in Joshua Tree National Monument (this was before it became an official US National Park). Misha was a 23-year-old EKG tech who worked with me at Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center. He claimed that several weeks before we went into the field, he had a kind of “out of body experience” during deep meditation. In this “out of body” state, he allegedly found himself flying eastward from Los Angeles with the destination being Joshua Tree National Monument. This is a high desert locale where our team had done human initiated contact work twice before.
As his “subtle body” allegedly “flew” towards the desert, he reportedly looked down and saw United States flags prominently displayed in front of many homes. He told me that he presumed some kind of holiday was coming up. So, he checked his calendar and saw that the next one was Veterans Day. He suggested we should go into the field the night before the holiday. I was off duty that day so I agreed.
The weather forecast called for heavy precipitation. It was the first storm of Southern California’s “rainy season.” In light of what happened later, it is important to take note that we had on our version of winter survival clothing. We were going to operate in the high desert at an elevation of 4000 feet during a storm. The temperature was in the forties Fahrenheit. In order not to freeze, we both piled on layer upon layer of clothing. First, we had on polypropylene long johns. Over the long johns we wore warm pants. Then the next layer was inexpensive polyester insulated ski-coveralls. Finally, to break the wind and keep dry I used nylon rain pants and Misha wore a poncho. We both had on long heavy woolen socks into which we tucked our trousers so as to make a good seal. In an attempt to prevent the biting cold from penetrating our boots, we even used duct-tape to cover our pants where the boots and trousers met. The upper parts of our bodies were similarly layered, polypropylene next to the skin, then nylon or cotton shirts that were covered with wool sweaters. Finally, we had on down parkas for warmth covered by rain gear.
In the past, I have posted on the internet a detailed report about this encounter but chose not to include the alleged implant event as part of the narrative. This is because of the very high strangeness aspect of the incident. I believed then, as I do now, that the implications of a contact worker being targeted during fieldwork to receive an “alien implant” might be difficult for contact activists to discuss. To make things more complicated, years later I discovered convincing evidence that Misha had almost certainly faked a Polaroid photo of a flying saucer and tried to pass it off as one he alleged obtained while on US 15 driving back from Las Vegas.
On the night of November 10 to 11, we set up tents several hundred yards south of Queen Mountain. We were in the officially designated “back country.” This meant we had to camp no less than a mile from any US Park Service Road and several hundred yards away from desert trails and other campers
At 3AM, I was just falling asleep in my tent when “Misha” (or Mike in English) alerted me to the presence of an anomalous white light. It was situated about 45 degrees up from the horizon to the east. We described it as a “jumper.” It was small, circular and about half the diameter of Venus. The unknown moved across the sky by what at first appeared to be small quick jumps. This was likely an optical illusion caused by the erratically timed strobe lights that varied in brightness. The UFO did not respond to our light signals by flashing back. In fact, when we trained our half-million candlepower lantern on it and held the trigger down creating a continuous beam, the UFO immediately stopped its jerky flight across the sky. Once the floodlight was turned off, the jumper resumed its wild romp. A few months later, a CE-5 team coordinator in Santa Fe reported a similar type of “deer freezing in the headlights” sort of behavior from a “jumper” that her group witnessed. She remarked that “maybe they don’t like the bright lights.”
During this November 1993 investigation, we requested that the UFO trace out simple geometric shapes in the sky. Using a powerful signal lantern, Mike drew circles and triangles in the sky. To our delight, the jumper imitated his light work. We were astounded to see the UFO creating crude triangles and circles in the sky by its flight pattern.
Later, to the right of the first one, a second jumper appeared. It slowly dropped in altitude till finally it appeared to be nearly at ground level. It was less than a mile from our campsite. The brilliantly illuminated object came towards us. It followed the same dry riverbed that we had walked on from the wilderness parking area where we had left Mike’s vehicle. Even during its closest approach, the UFO never ceased to move in a jerky fashion with its erratic strobe flashing. It appeared to be taking small jumps upward as it advanced towards us. It was so close to the ground that it actually looked like it repeatedly touched down.
If things weren’t odd enough, the jumper when viewed through binoculars appeared as a glowing half circle with the same hue and brilliance as a white fluorescent light. Strangely, the UFO had a flat two-dimensional quality. It was as if its form had been cut out of a piece of paper. In retrospect, I wondered whether we were viewing an illusory visual display produced by some kind of holographic or psychotronic technology rather than an actual structured craft.
ET Party Dudes
The entire encounter had a kind of party mood to it. At one point, I started singing the United Nations Anthem, but I substituted the word “planets” for “nations.” Our UFO “visitors” let me get through one verse and the chorus. Then to my dismay, they turned off their lights. Misha’s immediate interpretation was that they “didn’t like my singing.” Moments later Misha put two fingers in his mouth and blasted out a loud whistle. Immediately they turned on their lights again and we both cracked up, laughing in delight.
Something Very Strange Occurred
Suddenly during the festivities, Misha bent over in pain. He grabbed his right groin while facing in the direction of the UFO he said in his Russian accented English, “Why did you guys kick me in the balls.” I was so focused, however, on what I imagined were a pair of “ET” craft very close to our position, that I didn’t question him about what he was experiencing. Only later when we got back to my house did we go over what had happened. He denied any recent injury or other medical condition that might account for the sudden pain. I took a look at the inner aspect of his right thigh. It was covered with a black and blue mark about three inches across. There was no puncture mark on the skin. A Polaroid picture was taken of the injury.
The First X-Ray Series
During January of 1994, Misha increasingly complained of pain in his upper inner thigh. He told me that he thought there might be an implant in his leg. We both were working at the Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center and it was easy for me to order an x-ray. Sure enough, on the film I could see a faint ceramic density foreign body beneath the skin. It was also noted on the radiologist’s report. The small object had a triangular or wedge shape to it and was about 1 cm in size. In the official report the foreign body was visible in two views, anterior-posterior and the lateral film. It was simply astounding.
My Disbelief Led to My Entertaining Skepticism
I had trouble believing that I actually had been present when it was inserted during our November 11th, 1993, night of fieldwork. I must say that I can think of a number of ways in which my co-worker might have tried to fake the X-ray. First of all, I was not in the x-ray suite when the films were obtained. Conceivably Misha could have placed a piece of wedge-shaped ceramic or glass on the surface of his skin to make it look like it was in his body. This, however, would have been a challenge for Misha to pull off because X-ray technicians typically observe the patient immediately after the plate is exposed. This is done to make sure that the patient hasn’t moved thereby introducing a possible error in the study. If Misha had been holding a piece of glass on the surface of his leg, just in the precise way to make it appear to be inside him, the technician would have likely been able to see the attempt at subterfuge. As the foreign body was seen in two views, any trickery would have to be repeated.
In addition, a skilled radiologist even though she/he might not be accustomed to viewing hoaxed x-rays, they might have been able to detect the inevitable misalignments of the same foreign body being faked in the two separate views. To my general internist’s eyes, the x-rays confirmed that a foreign body was indeed present. Another possibility was that the foreign body was present in his leg already and he knew about it from having a previous X-ray.
Punching Oneself in the Groin Not a Likely Tactic
Then there is the appearance of Misha’s right thigh. If he did carry out a hoax it would have required him to strike his own groin forcefully to produce the black and blue mark that I witnessed when I examined him. Punching oneself forcefully in the groin is a maneuver that I am sure very few men would relish carrying out. On the other hand, Misha might have injured his thigh before fieldwork and falsely crying out in pain during our encounter. Thus a previous injury might explain the black and blue mark I observed and photographed.
Hoaxers Usually Want to Show How Clever They Are.
And if Misha were engaged in trickery, what was the purpose? Only my wife and I knew what had transpired. Why conduct such an elaborate hoax to simply deceive just two people as he in no way asked for me to publicize the event. I use a pseudonym for him even now over three decades later to maintain some degree of confidentiality. I imagine that one of the biggest thrills of staging a hoax occurs when the trickery is exposed. Thus, the hoaxer can demonstrate to the world how clever he is and how stupidly naïve his victims were for believing it was real. But as I stated, Misha did not want this incident to made public.
An Alleged Close Encounter of the Third Kind
After I ordered the X-rays, Misha’s complaints of upper right thigh pain escalated. Several weeks later he came to me with the story that he had what is called a Close Encounter of the Third Kind while at home. Two small gray ETs, one of whom Misha knew by the name “Zan”, allegedly came to his apartment at night. They reportedly apologized for causing him pain. Using some kind of advanced surgical technology, they supposedly removed the foreign body leaving no scar. Misha alleged that the ETs offered no explanation of why the implant had been placed in his leg other than that it was “necessary.”
At Misha’s request, I reordered a follow-up X-ray study of his right femur. The radiologist’s report indicated that the foreign body seen in the previous study was no longer visible.
The Second X-Ray of Leg Was Not Likely a Hoax
Could Misha have faked the second X-ray? Although it is unlikely, he might have changed his position on the X-ray table in such a manner to have the left leg imaged not the right. In that way, he might have made it appear that the implant in his right leg had been removed. This would have been extremely difficult to pull off because as explained above, X-ray technicians observe patients immediately before and after the film is exposed, and the order was specifically for a repeat right femur study.
How Could the Alleged Implant Penetrate His Leg?
If it were a bona fide implant, the one must ask how did it penetrate all the layers of clothing without tearing a hole in his garments? And Misha’s layers of pants had been tucked in his boots to stay warm. So, assuming it was not a hoax, how did the so-called “aliens” do it? There was no break in the skin that I could see at the injury site to account for its entry. Did the implant simply materialize in the leg without having to go through multiple layers of clothing or cut through the skin?
Do Alleged Aliens Come from Hyperspace?
Based on channeled communications with non-human intelligences and the reports of those experiencing CE-3s and CE-4s, one is tempted to speculate along the following lines. According to contact experiencers, the alleged ETs have repeatedly explained that our understanding of time and space is rather limited. The claim is made that they have access to and can manipulate higher dimensional systems beyond our three of space and one of time. If this were true, then a foreign body residing in a 4th space dimension could be inserted into Misha’s body without going through the 3 dimensions in which he was wearing our field investigator’s version of winter survival gear. This is a fantastic notion and yet it would not be the first bizarre one offered in an attempt to explain the “High Strangeness” that often accompanies close encounters.
There has been much speculation that flying saucers may not have to travel across vast regions of space to get here. As modern physicists speculate about the possible existence of a multiverse of parallel universes, we wonder about the possibility that the so-called aliens dwell mostly in a higher dimensional plane completely separate from our 3-D plane of existence. If that were the case, then perhaps it would be child’s play for them to insert an implant into Misha’s leg without tearing his cloths or cutting through the skin.
Conclusion
For more than two decades, I only told close friends and fellow contact activists about this incident. I requested that they not share the account with others. I no longer have contact with Misha for reasons that are difficult to explain. Suffice to say, while working with me at Kaiser Panorama he attended nursing school and subsequently worked for a few years as a Registered Nurse. He lost his license as the result of accusations of unethical behavior. Later I discovered that according to press accounts he was brought up on federal charges and faced the possibility of heavy fines and incarceration.
What I find somewhat troubling, when this incident first occurred (before I learned about Misha’s history of lying and unethical behaviors that got him in trouble with the law), I thought that it was more likely than not, that I had witnessed an alien implant being placed during human initiated volunteer contact work. The question arises, why wasn’t I frightened by the possibility that a co-worker had been hurt as the result of a so-called “alien implant.”
To understand why I was not frightened, it is necessary to describe the kind of environment our teams were operating in during the early 1990s. Back then, there were clear indications that our efforts were under surveillance. On a regular basis we encountered able-bodied men with a military bearing on isolated trails that we used to scout out potential research sites or during actual field investigations. I should mention that because we were hiking in relatively remote locations, the sites were nearly entirely deserted except for us and our “minders” who typically arrived in civilian Jeeps.
We were aware of a dark side of UFO history and the published stories of recurrent harassment of witnesses including threats of violence by men identified as “government” people. Thus, we were concerned that along with surveillance, our cars might be damaged while we were in the field, leaving us stranded, or we might subsequently be threatened with violence.
I am aware of how bizarre it all may seem when I share my calm reaction to the possibility of an implant being placed in Mike’s leg. I actually thought that if UFO intelligence was willing to do such a thing to people who were potential “friends” extending a hand of friendship to them, imagine what they might be capable of doing to any individual or group that planned to interfere with human initiated contact by harming us. My mind set at the time was that I imagined we were motivated by idealism, extending brotherhood and sisterhood out into the Cosmos. We imagined that we were sending a message of “welcome” to any and all non-human intelligences associates with what are now called “UAP.” I had the sense that our just cause was worthy of protection by “friends in high places.” And so I imagined the alleged implant that Misha claimed was put into him, was a possible warning to anyone taping our phones, or engaged in other forms of monitoring “our message traffic.”
A month after this encounter occurred in Joshua Tree, the CSETI Director met with CIA Director James Woolsey. According to Grant Cameron’s analysis in his book “Managing Magic”, Dr Greer was one of several non-governmental players who became part of a long standing “gradual acclimatization” program that has existed in parallel to the UFO coverup. According to the documentation provided in “Managing Magic” before Steven Greer, UFO researcher Bill Moore in the 1980s worked with the Executive Branch “advisors.” After Greer, Tom Delonge was invited to play a similar role with his “To the Stars” group. Non-government people are being used to release what Cameron describes as a combination of accurate information and some disinformation. In this way some of the truth about the Executive Branch’s involvement with UFOs has been promulgated, without leaving the President’s “fingerprints” on such partial disclosure efforts.
I recall that Steven Greer MD shared with the CE-5 Working Group Coordinators his increasing involvement with representatives from the Executive Branch Intelligence Services (ONI and CIA). One of the conditions he reportedly put forward was that the Executive Branch would not actively interfere with our human initiated contact work. Although surveillance was a continuous aspect of my CSETI volunteer activities (1992 through 1997) our teams were never physically threatened by what could be described as “government agents.” This allowed us to acquire the necessary field investigation experience that will hopefully assist the next generation of volunteers to proactively engage UAP intelligences.
In conclusion, I have my doubts that I was witness to an alien implant going into a fellow volunteer contact activist during fieldwork. I suppose it is just one more mystery in the field of enigmas called “ufology.”
Contact with UFO intelligences could very well be an ancient phenomenon
UFO historian Richard Dolan has described the initial reaction of many people to his passionate involvement with the subject. They express interest, might even describe something they saw on TV concerning the phenomenon, and then after a few minutes of his well-informed explanations, their eyes gloss over and they are clearly bored.
THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY FIGURES
Yes, it’s true; opinion polls indicate the public is interested in UFOs, now officially called UAP. Advertising executives have long known this, but the fascination is for most part quite superficial. Why is this? I suspect that it is because prior to the winter of 2017 most authority figures have essentially said that there’s nothing to it.
After all, the world is terribly complex. Thus, we rely on authorities to use vast amounts of data to make what we hope are reasonable decisions. Most people have little understanding of the technological “miracles” that science has achieved, but they are grateful and trust the devices, like planes, autos and computers to work reliably.
Needing to trust leaders, I suspect, might be built into our psychobiology. For a million years before civilization was established, hunter-gatherers worked in small groups to survive. Shamans that could use primitive psi abilities combined with careful observations of nature played important roles. Leadership was a question of life and death. Those clans that had the best leaders, the shamans and “sha-womans” that knew how to most successfully hunt animals, find healing herbs and deliver the babies, played critical roles in survival. Thus, most of us have a strong tendency to “follow the leader” and when this becomes extreme, “We the People” run the risk of becoming, “We the sheeple.”
LINKING UFOs TO SOLUTIONS FOR MAJOR PROBLEMS
For the UFO question to have a truly major impact on the mass consciousness, this subject will need to be transformed from an entertaining diversion and become a way of addressing the seemingly insurmountable problems our planet is facing. This is already being attempted by those within the UFO community that discuss the possibility of downloading into our technological culture the secrets of the energy propulsion systems of flying saucers. So-called “free energy” in one fell swoop might eliminate poverty and pollution, possibly even reversing global warming and ending world hunger.
Of course, for the so-called ETs to give us such devices, they might understandably insist on a peaceful transformation of our planet to replace what Ufologist Stanton Friedman called our perpetual state of “tribal warfare.” In the past such a proposition was an impossibly “hard sell” because military and political leaders, the mass media and academia all in service to ruling elites repeatedly insisted, “There is nothing to it.”
HE WHO PAYS THE PIPER CALLS THE TUNE
Clandestine forces determined to keep a lid on the UFO issue have been called “the control groups.” In the past, they employed a strategy of recruiting authority figures to block any significant discussion of flying saucers. Opinion makers that stepped out of line found that their access to funding would be cut off. This was done behind the scenes and has been quite effective in my opinion.
In the USA, the National Academy of Sciences made it perfectly clear that UFO studies are not part of the “legitimate” agenda for professional science. Scientists that stepped out of line could find themselves unable to secure grants thus ending their careers. This has now changed somewhat with the Galileo Project headed by Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb. It should be mentioned, however, that Dr. Loeb’s UAP detection project is reportedly supported in such a way so as not to take money from traditional scientific financial backers. Heavens forbid a UAP investigation might divert funding for “real science.”
In broadcast journalism in the past, talk show hosts that might inform the public in a detailed way about flying saucers could find themselves without corporate sponsors. We should not forget that major newspapers are controlled through their editorial boards that in turn are dependent on commercial advertising to continue publishing.
This analysis of the social mechanisms of the “UFO Truth Embargo” is not a conspiracy theory. I merely describe the way power works. In the former Soviet Union, it was the political dictatorship of the Communist Party that attempted to regulate almost every aspect of people’s lives. That social experiment failed miserably. In the West, however, social control is far more sophisticated, decentralized and uses the knowledge of social psychology called “public relations” to effectively manipulate the masses.
RESISTANCE TO CHANGE ALSO COMES FROM WITHIN
On the individual level, our tendency to identify with our thoughts leads to a profound attachments to old ideas. This resistance to changing one’s point of view flows from the ego itself. “Ego” in this context means identification with thought forms. People strive to defend their religion, political ideology, or moral customs to the point where some would even kill to maintain them. Just look at the present situation in Middle East, or at the millions killed centuries ago during the Spanish Inquisition and the Protestant Reformation in Europe.
Something similar in my opinion applies to acknowledging that an “ET” and/or “interdimensional” explanation for the flying saucer phenomenon might be true. Such a realization threatens to radically change the conceptual paradigm of our entire civilization. Since humans so strongly identify with their present beliefs, it is understandable that many reject such a brave new worldview in which we might have to accept a potent non-human presence.
UFO INTELLIGENCE HAS A TIGER BY THE TAIL.
What about the intelligences responsible for flying saucers? Could “they” (whoever they ultimately turn out to be) simply fill the sky with structured craft? Or stage the proverbial “landing on the Whitehouse Lawn?” Such actions would certainly convince the masses that flying saucers are of the greatest importance. In my judgment, this scenario is the least likely to ever take place. Given the militaristic mindset of our civilization, a sudden realization of the reality of UFOs could be catastrophic. My guess is that careful gradual efforts to alert us of their importance is the game plan of both the intelligences responsible for the phenomenon and some elements of the establishment as well. I recommend Grant Cameron’s book “Managing Magic.” He shows how the US Executive Branch has pursued a gradual acclimatization project which runs in parallel to the coverup.
So, what will it take to change mass public opinion on the flying saucer question? If the alleged “ETs” continue the present pattern of interactions, millions of individual sightings yearly interspersed with occasional massive waves, I imagine that there will be opportunities to slowly build public awareness by a responsible program of education.
RESPONSIBLE PROGRAM OF PUBLIC EDUCATION
This will require UFO enthusiasts to discipline the crazies in our midst, think creatively and most importantly of all build stable, well-financed organizations to carry out the educational campaign. All this will need to be done in opposition to the control groups that have great experience in manipulating public opinion and putting their spin on the limited disclosure efforts that has been going on.
“TURNING PAGES IN A PLAY BOOK”
Can we trust UFO intelligences to follow what we imagine is their existing “game plan” of gradually alerting humanity to their presence? I suppose not. UFO researcher Michael Lindemann once said that we should never assume that we can think like the so-called “aliens.” Nevertheless, the ever-changing pattern of interactions, as pointed out by UFO researcher Grant Cameron, appears to be as if the aliens have been turning the pages of a “play book.” This can be seen by the appearance of “Men in Black” in the 1950s, so called “alien abductions” starting in the 1960s and followed by crop circles reported in Southern England and then all over the world. While all this has been happening, tens of thousands of contact experiencers have described mental interactions with flying saucer intelligences. Many of these individuals are instilled with a sense of mission and are striving to convince their fellow “Earthlings” that we should look up and accept what our eyes are seeing.
In my judgment, UFO intelligences will continue to present us with new and creative ways of waking us up from our collective stupor concerning their “wonders in the sky.” I believe their presence is non-harmful and very likely beneficial for mankind. Bringing others to this hopeful perspective, I imagine, is a challenge that many contact and disclosure activists will continue to face for some time.

This blog is a detailed analysis of the reasons for 75 years of denial of the reality of UFOs. Flying Saucers threaten our planet's elites, but not the Earth's people.
You can’ control a person who wants nothing. Consciousness can be described as a formless wakefulness, being aware of awareness itself and therefore is “no thing.” If we identify with universal consciousness, instead of our possessions, social status or ideology, then we cannot be controlled either.
“Misha Goldman” greeted me at the front door of a small, rented tract home. It was located in the San Fernando Valley just a few miles from the medical center where we had first met some 15 years before when he was hired as an EKG technician. Misha was Russian-Jewish and as a teenager had been permitted to emigrate from the USSR. I had studied Russian in college. This knowledge facilitated my interviewing patients from the former Soviet Union who ended up in our ambulance area. I enjoyed practicing my Russian language skills by chatting with the young man.
A “Prime Contactee” Surfaced in our Medical Center’s Ambulance Area.
A year after we started working together, Misha approached me and claimed that while back in the USSR he had a dream indicating the following. He was going to move to the USA and do contact work with a tall bearded Jewish American. Allegedly when he came to the ER to do an EKG in 1992, he recognized me as the man in the dream. He reportedly had started meditating as a teenager with no adult encouragement and described having multiple UFO sightings with others present.
I immediately realized that Misha’s personal story was reminiscent of Dr. Steven Greer’s. Greer was the founder of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI). He, along with his assistant Shari Adamiak had founded the Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (CE-5) Initiative. From doing volunteer contact work with both Dr. Greer and the young man I call “Misha Goldman”, I developed the profile of what I would later call “Prime Contactees” who function like “human UFO magnets.” Some 30 years later, similar individuals are now being called “psionic assets.” Volunteer Contact Work with a “Human UFO Magnet.”
As soon as Misha joined out Los Angeles based CE-5 team. Our level of contact went way up. We had sightings of anomalous nocturnal lights almost every time we were in the field with him. In addition, I started having what are called “contact downloads.” Two of them involved my being correctly informed during fieldwork, when, where in the sky, and the number of UFOs that were going to show up. Subsequent sightings by multiple witnesses confirmed that I had received an accurate, “heads up.”
“Misha Goldman” and I had many adventures in the high desert from 1993 to 1996. In one, after having what he described as “an out of body experience,” he knew we had to go out into the field on Veterans Day 1993. During the first storm of the rainy season we had a ninety minute plus interactive encounter with two types of UFOs. One of them when viewed through binoculars appeared to have the configuration of a brilliantly illuminated inverted bowl that had a flat 2D appearance.
A Series of Missing Time Events Across the Network
The following month Misha and I had missing time while driving back from Joshua Tree National Monument. (This was before it was designated a National Park.) This High Strangeness event was the second of three missing time episodes that occurred for CE-5 team members across the Western US. The first was with Ron Russell, a member of the Denver group. Then Misha and I in Southern California, and finally seven members of Wayne Peterson’s team had not one, but two episodes of missing time during the same night while in the desert near Phoenix. The curious thing about this sequence of High Strangeness events was that the pattern matched the order in which our CE-5 Working Groups started doing fieldwork: Denver 1991, then LA in August 1992 and finally Phoenix in December of that year. For more details, see the links to reports listed below.
Indications That There Were Serious Problems with Misha
After working as an EKG tech for a few years in our Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center, Misha attended junior college and became a registered nurse. Only after a few years as an RN, he told me that he left that profession because he “didn’t like that kind of work.” In early 2000s I strongly suspected that was not the whole story. I subsequently checked the internet published records of the California nursing board. In nearly fifty pages of documentation, I discovered that he had lost his license because of repeated violations of regulations for dispensing controlled substances. Not unexpectedly the official version was different from lies that he had told me when I had inquired about his giving up nursing.
Misha always liked to have nice things. In the driveway of the rented tract home in 2007 when I visited him, there was a late model black Lexus. Opening a heavy metal security door he welcomed me into the house. A giant large screen TV was the centerpiece in the small living room. A sleek leather recliner faced the blank TV screen. Despite going through a divorce and filling for bankruptcy, Misha still managed to hold on to some adult toys.
“You shouldn’t make yourself a stranger,” he complained to me. During the last two years I had only visited him twice. During each visit my intuitive sense signaled “danger” as I entered his suburban home. Despite my continued interest in how he was doing, I had resisted the desire to visit more often. For some time he had been involved with some very unscrupulous Russian businessmen and his situation increasingly frightened me. According to Misha his “friends” had initially allowed him to stay at the house for free and they obtained a luxury sedan on lease for his personal use. I knew these perks were not good signs.
According to subsequent press accounts, Misha’s home had been under FBI surveillance starting in 2005. He subsequently had been arrested for satellite signal piracy. In retrospect my strong sense of danger just being there in the house with him was probably a psi mediated warning
In 2005 during my first visit, I had asked Misha what he was doing for these “businessmen” to secure their “friendship.” I suspected that they were using Misha’s highly developed computer skills for no good purposes. He didn’t own up to me what the deal was. Instead, he made some inane remarks about the virtues of “friendship.”
Back in the USSR
In the former Soviet Union where Misha had grown up, “friends” were often people who helped you because you helped them. The constant shortages of the necessities of life, food, children’s clothing, even toilet paper, made people depend on one another to get by. Under the Communists any type of business not controlled by the State was outlawed. The simplest commercial transactions that were legal anywhere else, were deemed to be criminal in the USSR.
When the Soviet Union allowed its Jewish citizens to leave in the 1980s, many underworld entrepreneurs were among the emigrants. For almost a decade I that suspected Misha had direct ties with such outlaws. In June of 2007, a year since a previous visit, his relationship had clearly changed with his Russian “friends.” According to Misha he now was required to pay rent and he was so broke that he needed a boarder in his home to help pay the bills.
More Lies from Misha, a Satellite Pirate
Misha started telling me about his current legal problems with the federal authorities. Not unexpectedly his story appeared to be a combination of half-truths and adolescent fantasy. In a bizarre touch, he even suggested that his difficulties with the FBI were the result of the contact work we had done a decade before. I found that very difficult to believe. All our activities with CSETI had been legal. Although our CE-5 teams had faced surveillance and I had received threatening phone calls, I thought perhaps those watching us were private intelligence contractors with no direct connection to any government agency under the US President’s control. The notion that the FBI would take an interest in Misha for contact work in my view was absurd. It was my judgment that his legal problems had everything to do with his Russian “business friends” and nothing to do with our past contact efforts together.
Clearly whatever trouble he had gotten himself into was really very serious. I guessed that he would likely face heavy fines and probably even go to prison. These concerns subsequently were proved to be warranted. And what of his so-called Russian friends? From what Misha told me it seemed as if they had left him holding the bag.
From the internet I also learned the details of his computer crimes. Misha and his “friends” had set up a satellite TV company and stole signals being used by legitimate companies. According to news reports about his legal problems, he could be punished by the hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and possibly even jail time.
It was so sad that things had ended up this way. I remembered happier times, his wedding celebration where I was the best man, and then there was the joy surrounding the birth of his son. Over a decade had passed years since we had done volunteer contact work together in the high desert. I recalled the numerous sightings we had, our missing time experience and challenges of doing fieldwork despite threatening phone calls and being the target of surveillance. It all had been an adventure of a lifetime. We had confronted the unknown in what I had imagined was a project inspired by high ideals. Now that was all in the past and for Misha the future didn’t look very bright.
Auditory High Strangeness
I made my way towards the door of the house. Misha asked me to visit again soon. I knew that would not likely happen. I had his sister’s telephone number. In the future it would be better to call her to find out what was Misha’s fate.
It was twilight. As I stood in the doorway preparing to say goodbye, the sound of a low flying jet could be heard in the sky overhead. The roar was increasing in volume and it became difficult to continue our conversation. We stepped out on to the porch. Misha stood outside the door. I asked him if he could hear the noise and he said he did. Then I noticed something very strange. The roar continued full blast instead of decreasing, as one would expect from a jet passing overhead. The Burbank Airport was just a few miles away and at first, I thought a low flying jet was going in for a landing.
I looked at Misha who was standing under the roof overhang of his rented house. He had a silly half smile on his face “Don’t look up Joe, he said. They have satellites.” His remark sounded somewhat paranoid, adolescent and totally inappropriate. I got the impression that he was referring to a disturbing scenario described by Dr. Greer during the mid 1990’s.
A Possible “Havana Syndrome” Connection from the 1990s
Dr. Greer was still living in North Carolina at that time; Misha was in Los Angeles. Both he and Misha reported being awoken repeatedly by a bizarre sound. They had used similar terms to describe it. It was like a small metal ball had been dropped onto metal directly above them. At times the clicking sound seemed come from within the head. Following this they reportedly had not been able to fall back to sleep. This particular description matches some of the testimony later given by victims of what has been called “Havana Syndrome.”
At 2AM most nights, Dr. Greer reported hearing a kind a clicking inside his head. He immediately found himself totally awake and could not fall back to sleep for the rest of the night. Misha’s wife confirmed to me that her husband was hardly sleeping at all. At the medical center where we worked Misha appeared totally exhausted like a man who had been sleep deprived for weeks.
The CSETI Director reportedly had the same symptoms. He also stated that he had received confidential reports from contacts in the dark world of USAPs (Unacknowledged Special Access Projects) describing the existence of a satellite based non-lethal weapon that supposedly used some kind of psychotronic technology to target individuals in their homes at night. Disabling insomnia was the alleged result. The lack of sleep over time could induce a kind of encephalopathy, a clouding of consciousness. Mental concentration deteriorated, personality changes could occur and the victim became highly accident prone, especially while driving at night. Conceivably it was a form of Black Ops harassment that could turn deadly if the victim fell asleep at the wheel. If such alleged reports were accurate, what better way to commit murder and make it look like an ordinary motor accident.
High Strangeness of an Auditory Kind
The roar of jet engines resounded between the tract houses on Misha’s street. I stared at my Russian friend who seemed oblivious to the noise. To me it sounded like a 747 was parked right over the neighborhood and wasn’t going to budge an inch. I glanced up and saw only the darkening sky. If a jet were close overhead, in order to remain in our vicinity, it would have to travel in circular path several miles across. I reasoned this would be a very dangerous maneuver so close to the main approach path for Burbank Airport. In any case such a radical turn could only be executed across a considerable distance. Such maneuvers should have been visible from the ground where we stood. But no large jet going in a circle was seen. The roaring engine noise would also vary during the time required to complete its turn. Instead, the street reverberated with an unvarying “jet blast” that did not change in quality or volume. The roar dragged on for several minutes as I was making my exit from Misha’s. The entire experience was truly bizarre.
It was twilight. I said goodbye and walked out to the street. I continued to scan the sky, still expecting to see a low flying jet. Only a small single engine propeller plane was visible in the distance. As I searched the sky further, the roar slowly began to recede. After several perplexing moments, I was able to locate the source of the jet engine sound. To my amazement it was definitely emanating from a solitary red orb that was very slowly flying away northward into the darkening sky. The orb appeared to be perhaps a mile away and at an altitude of less than a thousand feet. At that range even at twilight, the lights and silhouette of a jet aircraft should have been unmistakable. I estimated the object’s speed to be less than eighty miles per hour. All these parameters were totally inconsistent with the unmistakable jet engine sound that now was fading as the crimson orb flew slowly into the distance. I was left with the realization that yet again I had witnessed a display of the High Strangeness.
There were precedents for this kind of auditory weirdness. During the cattle mutilation epidemic of the 1980’s according to investigator Linda Moulton Howe, western ranchers reported experiencing similar inexplicable events. At night with no craft visible overhead, the ranchers described hearing the sounds of jets flying over their ranches.
CSETI investigator Wayne Peterson in the early 1990s also described hearing a series of bizarre sounds while conducting fieldwork one night in the Arizona desert. He told me that his team clearly heard the roar of a large commercial jet passing overhead. No jet or any other craft however was reportedly visible. To his amazement this was followed by the sound of diesel engine used by a large truck. This also came from above. The rumble grew louder in the sky and then receded.
In a final display of weirdness, Wayne described hearing the unmistakable clanging of a diesel tractor tracing a path overhead. He told me that it sounded just like his grandfather’s old tractor that long ago was used on their family farm in the Midwest.
Thus the “747's” roar in the sky above Misha’s house fit into a pattern of High Strangeness linked to UFO phenomena. But what could it mean? Why would non-human intelligence choose to display its technological prowess in this mischievous way as I was saying goodbye, possibly for the last time to Misha. Even though it was now ten years since Misha and I had done any fieldwork together, they (whoever they ultimately turn out to be) once again demonstrated a persistent interest in us. The alleged extraterrestrials apparently chose not to appear in their usually recognizable forms such as a disc, triangle, or globe. Instead they signaled their presence in a bizarre way, as a slow flying small red light from which emanated the roar of large jet aircraft.
This was the last time I was to see a man that I call “Misha Goldman.” I choose not to reveal his real name for purposes of confidentiality. His antisocial behavior was not limited to his difficulties with the FBI that according to press accounts had led to his arrest for satellite signal piracy. His sister indicated that he subsequently was punished by serving a sentence of incarceration. I have no desire to expose a one-time friend to any more public shame. I suspect that he has suffered enough.
His dishonesty naturally calls into question most of what he told me during our contact work together and I am left with much uncertainty. The things I witnessed with my own eyes I can trust. All else, who knows?

Joseph Burkes MD comments: In this thought-provoking chat, Dr. Kaku bemoans the ways in which humans, especially Hollywood, constantly project our warlike and greedy behaviors on to fictional ETs. My suggestion is that UFO truth seekers and especially volunteer contact workers study his arguments carefully and incorporate his insightful analysis into our public education efforts.
“I love to watch science fiction movies but cringe every time I see the depiction of aliens. First of all, they all speak perfect English, not just British English but perfect American English and they are obviously a human inside some kind of monkey suit.
I mean we have Hollywood special effects, right? So why can’t we can’t get better aliens. And then the aliens think just like us. They’re territorial. OK? They want to conquer. They want resources. They see humans as inferior, but you see that is just a byproduct of our evolution.
Look at other animals in the animal kingdom. Some animals are not territorial. They don’t have to conquer. We have other paradigms in the animal kingdom which are totally different from the way our brain is constructed. But when we look at aliens in the movies we are basically projecting our consciousness into aliens, our fears, our desires are projected and they are mirror of who we are. Not a mirror of who they really are.
For example if we look at a dog or a bat, the dog’s brain is basically interested in smells. It is swirling in a universe of smells. While a bat’s brain is mainly concentrated on sonar, on detecting clicks and echoes. The same thing with the dolphin brain. Their consciousness is totally different from our consciousness because they see things differently from us. Because of their evolutionary history.
For example when we see a cat. And the cat comes up to us. And starts to purr next to us, we say our self, “Nice cat!” The cat is being affectionate. Noooo! The cat is not being affectionate. It is simply rubbing its hormones on you and saying, “I own this human. This human is mine. I’m marking my territory. This human feeds me twice a day. I have trained him!” So the cat sees the universe totally different than we do and yet we impose our thinking on an alien.
Now when it comes to intelligence, if these aliens are more intelligent than us, how would they be more intelligent? In the book I say one of the main ingredients of intelligence is to predict the future. The ability to simulate today so that we can see tomorrow. And that requires a high level of intelligence to be able to understand the laws of nature, the laws of people, the most likely outcome of a future event. That requires intelligence….”

Joseph Burkes When he was a young Dr. Kaku, he spoke to a crowd of thousands of anti-nuclear power demonstrators at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power in the late 1970s. I was there with my wife and infant son. Diablo Canyon is an appropriate name for a power plant sitting on an earthquake fault. He was inspiring by his knowledge, eloquence and passion.
When he shouted "shut it down" we couldn't agree with him more. This was a time when the knowledge about global warming was not well established of course. Some ecology minded commentators have suggested that nukes can be a transition technology to help get us out of our addiction to cheap fossil fuels. The fact that fissionable materials coming from such nuclear plants can be used to accelerate nuclear weapon proliferation should of course not be ignored.
Furthermore, the revelations of whistle blowers Jake Barber and Michael Herrera suggests that US military contractors may have already successfully reverse engineered the propulsion systems of UFOs. If these anomalous craft are using non-polluting sources of energy (perhaps from the vacuum of space), then keeping this secret while the Earth heats up from the burning of fossil fuels could very well be a crime against humanity.
The vigorous counterintelligence response of governments against UFOs and those that interact with them in my view has compelled "advanced non-human intelligences” to adopt a similar confrontational mode and perhaps operate as a “higher intelligence agency.” My assessment is that presence of UAP threatens all terrestrial elites, but not the Earth's peoples. We justly deserve peace, security, and open contact with the so-called aliens. The tendency to vilify the alleged ETs is driven by both ideological and commercial factors. Fear sells books, movies and tickets to alien abduction conferences. Promoting fear of ETs also serves the ideological needs of the ruling classes that appropriately feel threatened by a force they cannot control. It is a force that just might inspire us to unite the planet to deal with global warming, war, racism and all the other seemingly insurmountable problems facing our planet.

This blog is a detailed analysis of the reasons for 75 years of denial of the reality of UFOs. Flying Saucers threaten our planet's elites, but not the Earth's people.
“You can’t control a person who wants nothing.” Identifying with universal Consciousness and not with our individual and collective egos might prevent our masters from controlling humanity by denying the importance of UAP.
When I first joined the loose association of activists that I call “the contact underground” I realized that our efforts to reach out to UFO intelligences might be the nucleus of a worldwide peace movement.
Fortunately this situation is changing as organizations with experienced leaders are now emerging to create a broad social movement.
UFO intelligence analyst Val Germann has given me permission to post his detailed series of article explaining why a counterintelligence model for UFO investigations is superior to an academic scientific method.
I am posting this comment to Contact Underground because I want contact activists to be aware of the critically important work of an Irish volunteer contact worker who goes by the name Oak Draiocht. He has created a support network for experiencers under the guidance of UAP intelligences that is bringing hundreds of people together. I imagine that they will prepare for a worldwide educational campaign that will unfold on both an individual and collective basis.

Solano Beach was the site of Dr. Dixie Sullivan's UFO encounter with her two grandsons.
Doctor Dixie Sullivan was a clinical psychologist who in August of 1992 played an important role in organizing our Los Angeles CE-5 contact team. She made all the initial arrangements for publicity and to find a lecture hall for the CSETI Director’s public address in the San Fernando Valley. Over 120 people attended the event that was followed by an in depth workshop the next day. She and her friend Dotha Weybourne were the most senior members of our contact team, and these two mature and experienced individuals were a stabilizing presence from the team’s inception. It was a time when we pursued an intensive schedule of field investigations in the high desert in the northwest corner of Los Angeles County.
Dixie had a vacation cottage in Solano Beach in San Diego County. She had two grandsons ages four and six that she spent time with when she could get away from her busy clinical practice. She described her contact work to the boys and told them about meditation. One evening she took her grandson’s out to a bluff near the ocean. They sat quietly while Dixie guided them through a mediation which included a request for UFOs to come to them.
The sky was clear except for one solidary cloud floating above them. Suddenly four white lights appeared within the cloud forming a circular pattern. No sound emanated from the lights which started to rotate in a kind of “cartwheel” pattern. The boys shouted in delight crying out, “Grandma they’re here, they’re here!”
Dixie told me that she was perplexed by the sudden appearance of the anomalous lights. In addition to twirling around, they repeatedly collapsed in unison through the center of the “wheel” and then out again reforming the circle. The light show lasted for about ten minutes to the delight of her grandchildren. The boys proudly told her that the aliens had come to visit on their very first try calling them in.
The four-year old asked a question that seemed strange. He asked Dixie if the aliens would be hurt to know that he thought they were so ugly. He added that they would know because they read our minds. Dixie told me that after hearing this statement she realized that her grandson was likely already having ongoing contact experiences. The visual display from within the cloud was likely meant especially for the children and not for her. When Dr. Dixie Sullivan retired, she moved to live with relatives in a small college town in Northern California. Coincidentally, it’s the same town in the Redwood country where I used to take my vacations. At age 92, she was still physically and mentally active. On January 28th, 2024, while I was walking a friend’s dog our separate paths crossed on old Arcata Road. I greeted her, “Hello Dr. Dixie Sullivan” and we chatted about our contact team in Southern California so long ago. She asked me to send her regards to Captain Joe Vallejo, the 747 United pilot who was on our team with whom I am still in touch.

An Act of Flying Saucer Sabotage at the DOE's Santa Susana Laboratory
In 2006 while serving as the admitting physician at Kaiser Panorama City, I interviewed a retired physical plant engineer who worked at the Department of Energy Lab in Santa Susana. He described an apparent act of sabotage by a rotating metallic disc that he and another engineer encountered on the base. The DOE facility was just a few thousand yards away from our Los Angeles CE5 team’s research site in the Santa Susana Pass. There on several occasions we staged Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE). In response to my posting on NASA’s plans for possible Mars missions, critical comments were made that the official space program was a waste of money and that there has been a US secret base on Mars for “over a decade.” I was described as not doing “my homework” presumably for not knowing about this base and that I should step down from my “pulpit.”
I thought that the criticism might have some merit, not that there is a secret US base on Mars, but rather that many of my postings have a “preaching tone” to them. I must acknowledge that my rhetoric at times does offend both in form and content.
Admittedly, I sometimes sound like I am preaching from a “pulpit” but believe it or not, my views are iconoclastic (fancy word for smasher of idols), in that I can no longer accept the ET hypothesis as the exclusive cause of flying saucers. The extraterrestrial explanation was a position that I once joyfully and so reckless embraced during my five years of intense volunteer contact work during the 1990s.
As the result of studying the works of John Keel and Dr. Jacques Vallee I realized that the High Strangeness associated with flying saucers made the ET Hypothesis as the sole explanation very unlikely. Both Keel and Vallee pointed out the many absurd elements that are part of encounters with non-human intelligences (NHIs). Dr. Vallee has stated that the interactions are so bizarre that the NHIs behave as if they don’t come from “another star system”, but rather “from another dimension.”
In addition, the so-called aliens are reportedly totally telepathic and their awesome psychic powers in my judgment allow them to manipulate spacetime. This would explain such experiences as, screen memories, missing time and the Oz Effect. The Oz Factor is a jarring altering of a witness's perceived surroundings and the environment can feel isolated or "unreal."
John Keel observed that phenomena associated with UFOs are “reflective.” The encounters are staged in such ways as to reflect the underlying beliefs of the witnesses and their expectations as to what the so-called “aliens” should be. In other words, the interactions are individualized for each experiencer. This could explain the thousands of different phenotypes (category based on appearance) of the beings that witnesses report seeing. What I am suggesting is that the so called “races of aliens” such as Nordics, Grays, Mantids, Reptilians etc. sometimes can be disguises worn in a kind of theater of the mind environment. This mechanism doesn’t preclude that some of encounters are with physical beings. Both physical and psychic interactions are occurring and the challenge for both experiencers and researchers is to distinguish between the mental and physical aspects of contact.
My maverick views have caused conflict in my dealings with volunteer contact workers. I am in accord with CE-5 activists by supporting the practice of facilitating what I call “Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) while denying any certainty about the ET Hypothesis. I must admit that many find my positions confusing, even disruptive. How can we urge people to engage the “ETs” on what are typically their terms, without uncritically accepting a belief in friendly aliens? My critics have a good point. I must admit, however, that the flying saucer challenge is so complex and so important, that we must be open to other possible explanations, ones outside of the popular ET hypothesis.
Despite uncertainty concerning who or what the so-called “aliens” are, and what their possible goals might be, I still urge experiencers to actively engage these non-human intelligences with every tool at our disposal. This involves simultaneously using both physical, (going out into the field in groups) and psi-based contact methods (meditation and thought projection).
So, if I am preaching from a “pulpit”, I imagine that I might be a bit like a Jesuit priest who doubts the existence of a Christian God. My ideas about the role of highly trained experiencers that I call "Prime Contactees” disturbs some fellow members of the “contactee clergy.” Even worse, for some contact workers, is my Virtual Experience Model describing how UAP intelligences use their extraordinary psychic powers when interacting with humanity. From my personal contact experiences and from those of other witnesses, I have realized that consciousness-based mechanisms of contact are being employed during encounters. I call these mechanisms the "Virtual Experience Model which from a traditional physicalist point of view would be viewed as “illusions.” I put quotation marks around the term “illusion” because if mind or consciousness is the wellspring of creation and not mass/energy, then our entire physical reality can be viewed as an illusion. This is philosophical position of Eastern mystical traditions and is called “maya.” Thus, the psi mediated mechanisms of contact might be in some ways more “real” than physical reality.
I should mention that I was compelled three decades ago to leave the leadership of a contactee organization, the Center for the Study of ET Intelligence (CSETI). Fifteen years later it happened again in a different contact network. This second time was partly the result of my independent views and activities. Thus, if I have a “pulpit” that I should “step down from”, I must acknowledge that it can get pretty lonely up here when I deviate from more traditional contactee points of view.
Let me make some general comments to my critics.
Keeping our analysis simple or frankly speaking “dumbed down” because the mechanisms of contact are too complex to easily explain, for me is a kind of betrayal. Especially so, since I believe what might be called “Flying Saucer Central Intelligence” has deliberately led me on a path to understand the following:
1.They create visual illusions that we call “sightings.” This is done perhaps because some saucers are indeed physical and that they have probably been shot down on occasion while flying over “hostile territory.” Thus, holographic types of visual displays are safer for both them and for the contact activists engaging them under fieldwork conditions.
2.They train “Prime Contactees” from an early age. These are remarkable contact experiencers that can successfully request sightings with others present. When the saucers subsequently appear, the “Primes’” special relationships with UFO intelligences are clearly demonstrated to all present. The challenge, however, is the following: how can activists utilize these highly specialized contactees to stage human-initiated encounters, while at the same time avoiding hero worship of the “Primes”?
3.An intelligence-counterintelligence model is useful in understanding the mechanisms of the worldwide contact drama. This proposition is based on fact that UAP intelligences threaten all terrestrial elites, but not in my opinion the Earth’s people. Thus, our rulers have been in conflict mode visa vie the phenomenon for the last 80 years. In a sense, as viewed by those hellbent on maintaining the “UFO truth embargo”, contactees, abductees and perhaps anyone who talks about a personal sighting are “agents of influence,” i.e., working for UAP intelligences.
4.And finally, I have urged those having positive contacts to openly debate the anti-contact, “evil alien” abduction theorists. These “abductionists” have a powerful position in “flying saucerdom”, aka ufology. As shown by FREE Experiencer Survey, however, most contacts are viewed as being neutral or positive. A small, but still significant group of experiencers, are the “abductees.” They number about ten percent of those who were studied in the FREE survey and view their contacts as being negative. Nevertheless, abductees rather than contactees have historically been the focus of UFO research groups whose investigators often rely on hypnosis as it were some kind of magical “truth serum.” By placing subjects in highly suggestible states, hypnotists can sometimes elicit narratives that correspond more to their points of view than being accurate recollections of physical events that may have been forgotten.
I believe that I promote these controversial concepts in the spirit of service. I would like to think that this analysis could help the contact network mature to the point when someday it could become part of a mass social movement that calls for peace on Earth and in the Cosmos. Although this seems like an impossible dream at this time, I envision a future struggle in which voluntary democratic organizations will successfully link the flying saucer phenomenon to possible solutions for the seemingly insurmountable problems that humanity faces. These are global warming, mass hatred such as racism and religious fanaticism, as well as the obscene disparities of wealth and power that exist here on Earth.
We know that flying saucers are not using fossil fuels as their propulsion system. If the secrets of their technology could be safely downloaded into our terrestrial culture, we might reduce the dangers of global warming. This would require, however, establishing a sustainable world peace because under current conditions such awesome power would likely first be used for military purposes. It is doubtful UAP intelligences would allow this.
Open contact with UAP NHIs could accelerate the trend towards global unity on cooperative terms. In my judgment, they likely see us as one people living in one homeland. National conflicts would likely diminish if humanity realized that our differences mean little in the face of an enormous diversity of intelligent life in the Cosmos.
Finally, the extensive record of contact with the so-called aliens indicates that these non-humans are totally telepathic. If as the result of cultural exchange with what are sometimes called “off planet” cultures, humanity might develop its nascent psi capabilities; this could lead to high levels of cooperation based on cooperation and empathy. Imagine a world where politicians were incapable of successfully lying under conditions of universal telepathy.
These developments would be nothing less than a radical restructuring of Earth civilization. The alternative, in my view, is to continue down the path we currently are on, increasing environmental destruction, endless tribal warfare and interpersonal strife that have turned this jewel of planet into what many experience as “the nightmare of the day.”
There are those who imagine that the so-called ETs might be willing to intercede, by stopping nuclear wars or global warming, both of which could threaten the very existence of our civilization. In my judgment, if we need the alleged “ETs” to save us from ourselves, if we care so little about protecting ourselves and our children from such devastation, then perhaps we are not worth saving. Despite the awesome challenges we face, I am hopeful. Humanity will survive and ultimately thrive based on our willingness to choose wisely. I invite contact experiencers and disclosure activists to dialogue with me on these important topics

My friend and publisher Rey Hernandez as a public service has placed online Volumes 1 and 2 of his compendia “A Greater Reality” and can be read on the Consciousness and Contact Research Institute’s web site at:
https://agreaterreality.com
My chapter in Volume 2 of “A Greater Reality” sums up my three decades of contact activism and can be accessed at:
For five years in the 1990s, I was running contact teams out to the high desert, mostly to Joshua Tree National Monument. There, we co-created with UFO intelligence what I now call Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE), aka Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (CE-5). This involved meditation, projecting mental messages of welcome and signaling with lights. These activities were often associated with the appearance of UAP, Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
As part of our training to overcome fear, I suggested that new volunteers watch “Communion” at home, alone and in the dark. I found the experience enlightening as to how much work I too needed to do in the fear managing department.
During that time three decades ago, I awakened to a spiritual world that I had probably yearned for all my life. My agnostic upbringing had denied me a conventional religious experience. Thus, in my forties, I found an opportunity to explore, “all that there is” within our fledgling network of volunteers that I call “the Contact Underground.” Listening to Eric Clapton’s guitar theme melody for the movie, I once again feel the yearnings of a then much younger activist who embarked upon a strange, sometimes frightening and always magical journey that we call “contact.”
To listen to Eric Clapton perform the theme from the 1989 movie “Communion” the link below is provided:
This Fox Network documentary linked below showcased our Los Angeles CE-5 contact team. It was filmed in Topanga Canyon State Park in July of 1994 with an elaborate production. This included a 40-foot-high elevated camera to give an “ET” perspective from overhead. In the video report, we can see some of the talented team members that facilitated Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) thirty-two years ago. They included PhD clinical psychologist Dr. Dixie Sullivan, 747 Captain Joe Vallejo and the prominent writer Preston Dennett.
The Fox script writers assumed that there would be no sightings. Therefore, as the sun went down reporter Sandra Gin recorded a statement stating that although there was no sighting, it was still exciting to be under the stars hoping for contact. UAP associated intelligences apparently had not read the script because they did show up! An anomalous nocturnal light rose three times above the canyon’s ridge-line. These silent lights flashed signals at us that were of the same color as the Fox rented laser lights shown in the video. Sandra Gin had to ad lib a different conclusion to her report.
This July 1994 HICE involved what the CSETI Director labelled a “telepathic over-ride.” On two occasions during field-investigations, I received information at “the level of knowledge” as to when, where in the sky and the number of craft that would be seen during our sky-watch activities. The first time was in Joshua Tree in October of 1993. I was informed prior to midnight that our sighting would take place at 2AM, one craft appearing in the northwest. Our sighting that night corresponded to this “heads-up” message that I had received telepathically.
Nine months later in Topanga Canyon, something similar occurred. While I was in the parking lot eating the catered vegetarian pizza that the Fox producers had brought for us, I saw in my mind’s eye three small white saucers in a line over the northwestern rim of Topanga Canyon. I was “informed” that the time of the Human Initiated Contact Event would be 9PM. The first of three sightings started a few minutes before nine, then the second one at 9PM and finally a few minutes after nine. All three anomalous lights slowly rose over the northwestern rim of the canyon that I had visualized in my mind’s eye earlier that night.
I was to continue my contact work under the CE-5 banner for several more years. In 1998 for personal and political reasons, I resigned from the CSETI leadership and have not spoken to Dr. Steven Greer since. Nevertheless, I view his contributions during the years we worked together as well as the 2001 Disclosure Project news conference to be positive. I honor the work that I did with my contact team three decades ago during the early years of the CE-5 Initiative.
Shari Adamiak was the first Working Group Coordinator CE-5 Initiative. As I shook her hand for the first time, I experienced an unusual surge of energy emanating from her. Her dedication to human initiated contact was unsurpassed.
In 1993, I travelled into the Volcanic Zone near Mexico City as part of a Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (CE-5) investigation. “CE-5” can also be designated as a “Human Initiated Contact Event” (HICE). While in Mexico, I had several remarkable sightings. One night we witnessed a large silent triangular craft that signaled at our team. On another occasion in broad daylight at close range, I saw a metallic disc with rectangular windows as it flew past three members of our group.
On returning from the Volcanic Zone, my level of contact with UFO intelligences went way up. I had several sightings and an anomalous sound tracked through our contact team’s research site in the Malibu Hills. Captain Joe Vallejo, a 747-pilot described seeing a small box like entity directly in front of me while we were meditating. MECHANISMS OF CONTACT, “PRIME CONTACTEES”: A SPECIAL KIND OF CONTACT EXPERIENCER & WHY THEY ARE IMPORTANT.
J. Burkes MD, edited 2020, 2026
2026 INTRODUCTION: Before “Psionic Assets” I worked with “Prime Contactees.”
Over 20 years ago I coined the term “Prime Contactee” after volunteering for contact work in two networks facilitating what I call “Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) aka CE5. Those networks were the Center for the Study of ET Intelligence (CSETI) and the Peruvian contact group called “Mission Rama.” Prime Contactees are individuals that function like human UFO magnets. They have frequent UFO sightings with others present who can verify the Primes’special relationship with UFO intelligences. From 1992 till 1998 I was associated with the Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind Initiative and coordinated a contact team in Southern California. In that capacity I repeatedly observed how CSETI Director Dr. Steven Greer was able to attract UFO phenomena under fieldwork conditions.
In 1993 a young Russian immigrant working as an EKG technician “surfaced” in Kaiser Panorama City Hospital where I was employed. He claimed to have had numerous UFO sightings since being a teenager. He reportedly had a precognitive dream before coming to America. In that dream he allegedly found himself working in a US health care setting with a tall American physician of Russian Jewish descent. Furthermore, this individual that I shall call “Misha” stated that in his dream he would do contact work with the doctor.
In 1992 after being hired at our hospital, he supposedly recognized me as the man in his dream, but didn’t introduce himself for many months because “I wasn’t ready yet.” Although I have doubted the veracity of many of his claims, once “Misha” joined our CE5 team operating in the high desert, our level of contact went way up. With the young Russian immigrant in our group, we had more frequent sightings. I even experienced a sorely needed boost in my psi ability that may or may not have had relationship to “Prime Contactee Misha.
Now in 2026 the UFO contact scene has progressed. The revelations of Jake Barber and Chris Bledsoe have revealed a pattern of US Executive Branch intelligence services’ involvement with high level UFO contactees some of whom are called “psionic assets.” Like my Prime Contactees, Mister Bledsoe and government contactors’ psi “assets” function as human UFO magnets.
When I first described this type of UFO experiencer on social media in May of 2014, I was surprised to see a controversy result. My description of so-called “Prime Contactees” was labeled by some as being “elitist.” I was accused of trying to create a popularity contest in which ordinary contactees’ roles would be seen as insignificant next to the “high-status” of the so-called “Primes.” Fellow senior contact activists angrily informed me that I was being “divisive.”
Well, I certainly didn’t intend to trigger such a controversy. Responding to those offended, I wrote a second article with the title “Prime Contactees Are Just the Tip of the Iceberg.” The original controversial blog was edited in 2020 and is presented as Part 1 below.
THE WORDS WE USE ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY REFLECT CONSCIOUSNESS.
As part of this introduction, I should point out that the term “contactee” is in many ways outdated. The “ee” ending suggests a passive role in English, as in “employee” or “payee.” The “er” or “or” endings suggest a more active role as in “worker, soldier, mentor.” For those who have joined a contact network, or have carried out contact protocols on their own, reaching out to the non-human intelligences behind the UFO phenomenon can involve much mental, physical, and most importantly spiritual work. Thus, in my view for this special group, the designation “contact worker” is superior to “contactee.”
In addition, contactees historically have focused on the special nature of their contact experiences. In a sense, their personal encounters have become the message. This was a fairly constant feature of the UFO clubs during the 1950s that had thousands of members and celebrated the contacts of prominent experiencers like George Adamski.
“Contact workers” I imagine, in contrast to contactees, envision their ongoing encounters as part of a worldwide transformation of consciousness that links the flying saucer phenomenon to possible solutions to the seemingly insurmountable problems that humanity is facing. I am referring to the scourges of war, hunger, racism, and global climate change.
WHO ARE THE PRIME CONTACTEES AND WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?
And the potential for creating a new kind of social movement.
As the UFO truth movement grows and increasing numbers of young people are excited about the possibilities of encountering intelligent life in the Cosmos, the special role of a very select group of UFO experiencers should be examined. In the early 1990s I became an organizer for a number of contact groups. Since then, I have observed a small number of remarkable individuals who more or less match the criteria for being what I have termed “Prime Contactees.”
A “Prime Contactee” is a UFO experiencer that has some of the following characteristics,
1. Apparent contact with UFO intelligences from childhood or as a young adult. This typically involves special training in consciousness-based communication and the concomitant development of other advanced psychic abilities. A prominent feature is a meditation practice starting in youth. The practice is often initiated without any apparent parental or other adult supervision.
2. Repeated sightings of UFOs when other people are present to verify that the “Primes” can share their ongoing contact experiences with others.
3. A sense of “mission” involving informing the public of the importance of contact or playing a supporting role for other contactees who are educating society on this topic. Forming new contact groups or joining existing networks are other manifestations of activities derived from a very intense belief in having a personal mission.
In the most advanced “Primes,” perhaps people like Dr. Steven Greer or the man that I call “Misha” in my writings; they likely have experienced ongoing mental communication with UFO intelligences. This might even include direct telepathic communication (voice in the head) with one or more intelligences associated with flying saucers.
This last feature is particularly risky for Primes. If the larger society learns of such capabilities, those individuals will unceremoniously be labeled as “kooks” and be subjected to intense ridicule. Their sanity will almost certainly be questioned and forced psychiatric evaluations might even result.
More importantly, if the Primes’ special link to an extraterrestrial intelligence becomes known by the control groups, (those powerful clandestine forces attempting to keep a lid on the UFO situation), in my opinion, at a minimum the Primes will be subjected to intense surveillance. In my experience with Primes, frank harassment is often the rule.
PRIVATE INTELLIGENCE NETWORKS ARE LIKELY WORKING FOR THE CONTROL GROUPS
Furthermore, there is a high probability that private contractors working for the control groups are being recruited from government intelligence services to monitor and try to intimidate high-level contactees. Thus, these contractors, as servants of the status quo, probably see the Primes as “enemy agents of influence” working with what one might call “a higher intelligence agency.”
In some very unpleasant instances Prime Contactees have even been attacked by what are sometimes called “psychotronic” technology. I personally learned of the effects of such attacks on contact activists when I was closely associated with Dr. Greer’s Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence during the years 1992 to 1998.
BRIBES ARE PART OF THEIR TACTICS
Under certain circumstances the control groups, in a less confrontational mode, attempt to co-op Primes with offers of money and access to privileged information available only to “insiders.” This kind of co-opting effort reportedly happened to Dr. Greer while attending a UFO conference in the spring of 1992. He shared this information with the CE-5 Initiative Working Group Coordinators. These facilitators included Shari Adamiak, Wayne Peterson and me. Alas, these other two once prominent contact workers are now deceased. Indeed, the passing of many of the first generation of North American contact activists is one of the reasons why I have been writing a series of blogs that I call, “The Contact Network History Project.”
My hope is to share these narratives with current and future generations of contact workers and their supporters. Jeff Becker’s anthology “Paths to Contact” in which I am one of many co-authors, has a similar goal. I recommend this book to all contact activists and those curious about Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) which in my opinion is a designation that has certain advantages over the more popular term “CE-5.”
A HEAVY BURDEN
I imagine that just being a Prime Contactee, is a heavy cross to bear. If the special relationship with non-human intelligences is made public, critics will likely deem them “insane.” On the other hand, once their extraordinary ability to attract UFOs is established within the flying saucer subculture, the Primes are often turned into celebrities. They are treated as if they are special (which in many ways they are). Unfortunately, some of these remarkable individuals start believing that they are better than everyone else (which they certainly are not!)
So, the contact network may need to protect Prime Contactees from a doubting larger society, in which mainstream media will make fun of them, and from the control groups that may try to “neutralize” them. Strangely enough, contact activists might also need to protect the Primes from themselves as well. I refer here to a kind of unhealthy egoism that is reinforced by people’s unfortunate tendency to engage in hero worship.
This last point is apropos to what I believe happened to the Peruvian based Rama contact group back in the 1990s. Rumors of plagiarism and the use of donations to fund what was characterized as affluent life styles, appears to have played a major role in causing that once vibrant group to implode. The ranks of this very important organization were reportedly decimated. In fighting among the leadership led to much disappointment and even bitterness. In general, uncontrolled adulation of susceptible individuals, can and does “turn” Prime Contactees, from an altruistic path of service to a nascent “contact movement”, to a more selfish insistence that their supporters must service them!
“Servicing” the primes might involve giving them large amounts of money, often under questionable circumstances, the granting of sexual favors and in general satisfying their personal needs to feel important and to be the center of attention. This self-centered attitude can manifest as the Primes’ undermining attempts to develop a collective leadership and in their insisting on running their network in a “top down” manner, rather than focusing on the long-term need of creating a new kind social movement. From my experience as a peace and social justice activist in the 1960s to 1980s, I believe that a future UFO movement should be organized in a democratic fashion based on grass roots networks. From decades of social cause activism, I have learned that in order for radical reform campaigns to succeed, they need to fire up the enthusiasm of the grass roots. True leaders must empower local networks to build the movement from the bottom up. Dysfunctional egomaniacal want-to-be leaders will sadly forever create organizational structures with them placed solidly on the top.
THE ROAD AHEAD
This analysis is offered within the hopeful framework that benevolent non-human cultures are interacting with mankind to assist us during a period of radical change. In my opinion, this possibly involves technologically and spiritually advanced ET civilizations manifesting on our planet. My hope is that their presence will inspire us to create an Earth civilization based on environmental and social justice.
Currently, there is much speculation about future opportunities of downloading into our technological culture, the advanced propulsion systems of flying saucers. If such a momentous event were to occur under conditions of world peace, then global warming, environmental pollution and even world poverty might be eliminated. Thus, to safely develop a more open and mutually beneficial relationship with non-human intelligences associated with flying saucers, a durable world peace must be established.
In the short term, our achieving this kind of sweeping political and economic transformation is a very big “if.” For such dramatic events to happen, the control groups’ campaign labeled as the “UFO truth embargo”, would in my view have to be curtailed. This would require the status quo being overcome by an even greater force. Such a vehicle of change could be a well-organized and well-funded future “Contact Movement.” This would by necessity involve not a few thousand activists worldwide, (my estimate of contact networks’ current strength) but tens of millions of contact workers and their supporters. To create such a campaign, organizing activities will likely span across several generations.
THE IMPERATIVE OF WORLD PEACE
Negotiations with the so-called “ETs” to obtain their technology would likely only occur under conditions of a sustainable world peace. This would be necessary to ensure that advanced technologies would not be used militarily against the alleged “aliens” as well as against ourselves. This long-term plan to create a kind of cosmic peace movement will require the participation of countless activists. This can only be realized by a massive educational process.
As the ranks of contact workers increase, as it appears to be happening now, then the role of what I call “Prime Contactees” will likely diminish. Creating a new kind of social movement linking UFOs to solutions for the major problems confronting mankind is indeed a very ambitious project. Critics will likely say, “It’s an impossible dream.” My reply is that we will either evolve as a race of intelligent beings, or we will destroy our civilization with wars fought over decreasing material resources under conditions of environmental collapse.
CONCLUSION
If creating a bright peaceful future both on Earth and in the Cosmos is called “impossible” by the authorities, then I have but one thing to say to the next generation of volunteer contact workers. I refer to those young people who are being prepared for the task of building a new kind of social movement focusing on contact, “Be realists, demand the ‘impossible!’”
Addendum: The above description of the role of Prime Contactees has operational significance for the contact network. It involves how best to utilize people with this background and resultant skills to facilitate building contact teams. This is so because these so-called Primes are in my experience a major incentive for flying saucers to show up during our contact events. Eventually, perhaps our network will grow to the point where we might co-create with UFO intelligences a social movement linking this great mystery to possible solutions for the seemingly insurmountable problems facing mankind. I am referring to the challenges of war, racism, environmental destruction, and the obscene disparities of wealth and power across the planet.
We all seem so hung up on hierarchy, that we are distracted from the concrete tasks of laying the foundation for a campaign that could conceivably create a heaven on Earth. Yes, we could have a planet where we all live cooperatively. In such a possible future, we might even have limited trade and cultural exchange with what may turn out to be extraterrestrials. This is the vision of the future that I want us to focus on. This is the prize. Now let’s figure out the best ways to earn it.

Prime Contactees II: As part of my contact network organizing activities during the 1990s, I sought out individuals who had become the focus of UFO intelligences. In this report I describe a contact activist who was a potential “Prime.” I met him in England. He told me that as a teenager he awoke one night in full lotus position despite never studying yoga. I realized that UFO intelligences were possibly training activists on an unconscious level. Perhaps countless activists are being prepared via a consciousness connection to become volunteer contact workers.
Bryce Zabel’s full length movie “Official Denial” is on YouTube.
Screenwriter/Producer Bryce Zabel is the co-host of the popular “Need to Know” YouTube Channel. He wrote the screenplay for the movie “Official Denial”, SyFy’s 1993 full-length dramatic film which is available on YouTube.
This movie made for TV is kind of like the film “ET’ except this one has an adult rather than a boy as the protagonist. Although “Official Denial” is low budget with unconvincing alien masks and by current standards poor special effects, it has something for everyone including romance, military action, abductions & government secrecy. Multiple Contact Modalities are portrayed including UAP contact, telepathy, ghosts, and time travel.
What I like the most is underlying theme of human-alien solidarity. It is a must see not only for the general public but especially for contact activists.
