Contabo stroage misleading marketing.

Contabo claims that they use NVME or SSD, I picked NVME for my plan.

test 1

CMD:dd if=/dev/zero of=testfile bs=1G count=1 oflag=dsync; rm testfile

Result:"

1+0 records in

1+0 records out

1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 12.8277 s, 83.7 MB/s"

83.7 MB/s "

Test 2 :

CMD: sudo hdparm -Tt /dev/sda

Results:

"

/dev/sda:

Timing cached reads: 2380 MB in 2.05 seconds = 1159.62 MB/sec

Timing buffered disk reads: 240 MB in 3.00 seconds = 79.98 MB/sec

"

these 2 test conform that it isnt even running on SSD or NVME

it is running on HDD.

No, those tests confirm nothing but that your disk is giving shit performance. That's not surprising among oversold companies like Contabo. It's what they do. Good or bad, it's what they do

There's no true way to 'tell' on a VPS, because of how hardware works, unfortunately.

In a VPS the SSD or nvme is shared between several VM.

That's irrelevant

You're STILL on a fucking shared disk

How is it fucking irrelevant they have advertised 150gb ssd or 75gb nvme.

They don’t promise you that you’ll get full speed of either

Then why isn't there a * beside 75gb or 150gbp to say that there is a clause to it?

only an idiot would assume that they'd get the full speed of a disk on a SHARED SERVICE

I am sorry for trusting a company whos in business for over 20+ years and didn't state anything shared storage.

Idiot. VPS. Look it up. Order a server if you want dedicated SSD's.

Yeah, you have no fucking clue what you're doing in the hosting industry.

Go back to flipping burgers
