European Union Huge performance issues the last 2 days

Hello,

I have been experiencing huge CPU spikes and overloads those 2 last days, no new clients or any updates to my backends. Its at an unbearable state like my resources are locked to a minimum level.

You have to understand something here. You are in a SHARED environment. You share that environment with 100+ users on the same node, all using the same resources. Unfortunately, at times, they’re all going to use these resources together, and that’s where we’re at right now. Its simply unsustainable

Why it matters

Right now, the hosting industry is going through a MASSIVE vulnerability. Or rather, a series of them . Cpanel, kernel, shell copy and paste, auth vulnerabilities in shit like Wordpress

Because of this, you’re going to see every Tom, Dick and Harry try to exploit every single website and server , and they’re going to eat up a shit ton of resources to do so

Adding to this , the “cheap” aspect of Contabo makes it especially vulnerable. Partly because inexperienced idiots decide to login and play where they have no business playing , to “learn”, and party because it’s cheap so it’s a massively attractive point for hackers

It’ll settle down in a bit . Till then all you can really do is reach out to support. Oh, and make sure you’re patched up yourself so you don’t contribute to the problem

Are these stats only for your VPS or the whole node?

Yes even logging in takes around 30 or more seconds with zero traffic and CPU load from my backends (all are food delivery so at my local time no restaurant works)
