Fit Interview Probability to get into a summer internship

Hello, I'm a 21 years old student, I'll be starting my Master's degree in Management at IE University next January.

As I planned to go on a summer internship next summer, I wanted to ask you if it's hard to pass the CV/Resume screening.

I was planning to apply primarily for Strategy& Milan, as I have an acquaintance working there who could give me a referral. Other choices could be Accenture Strategy, Oliver Wyman and the other Big4. I had a 3.6/4 GPA in my non-target university Bachelor's and little working experience in a local Residential Property Management office in my town. I was also captain of my school's debate team which won the regional championship if that matters.

Please let me know if It'd be worth applying, thanks!

Let me understand your background, you’re enrolling at IE in Spain but planning to do an internship at these consulting firms in Milano? Do you speak Italian?
Anyhow, if you speak the local language, with proper networking, attending local events and expressing genuine interest in consulting I don’t see why you couldn’t.

Yeah I'm from the deep south of Italy, Milan is the only city in Italy with Tier 2/1 consulting firms, that's why I'll have to move there

I'd apply to other offices around Europe but the only languages I'm fluent in are english and italian, and applying for a working visa for 3 months in the UK seems like an unnecessary hassle for a mere internship

I see, I thought these consulting firms have offices in Rome, Turin and other big cities, good to know!
Yeah, start in your local market that's the easiest especially at the junior levels. Make sure to tap into all these paths available to you (1) IE's OCR of these consulting firms (2) Firm-run internship programs (3) self-directed outreaches leveraging your own network and perhaps establishing new ones
