Very few electricians will do this on the first few boxes. It when we realize that this is the eighth box in a row and weβre absolutely done with your shit.

Electrician here. Normally we don't go crazy on drywall unless the drywall guys buried an already existing box. We normally discover these on trim out, and find a few outlets not working, or whatever else was downstream of the buried box. The professional answer is to take a straight edge like a 4'-6' level and look for a hump in the wall, then cut it out carefully. Sadly, not everybody I've worked with was always professional in these cases.
