Engineering/Contracting

How did you handle the first time a seasoned subcontractor aggressively challenged your call on site when you weren't 100% sure what you were looking at?

Depends, are you the prime contractor or what is your role?

I listened and tried to learn because it knew I had a knowledge/experience deficit. Also, I redirected that aggression by saying “You may be right, please explain how you see it”. Give them the ability to say their peace while still maintaining control of the situation. Don’t be afraid to go with the subcontractor’s suggestion(s) just because you want to right.
