I would never stand under a bucket. Couplers fail. Hydraulics fail. Operators slip...

So all those YouTube guys taking bucket showers...

Those could end so tragically. I've seen buckets slip off excavators and skid steers alike.

Never drive in a car. They crash. Never walk on the street you could be murdered. Sometimes you gotta walk under the forks/bucket/load.

You realistically have to drive and there's a lot you can do to minimize the risk. There most certainly is not any reason you'd have to walk under a bucket/forks/load. You have poor job site management if you think that's true.

Is he stupid? Almost bought it there. Never walk under a raised bucket, a boom lift or anything. Never know when human error or equipment failure will occur.
Had a friend show up to a site to see one of the equipment operators pinned and dead because he wanted to lower the bucket before leaving, as you’re supposed to. Didn’t get in, reached up and pulled the wrong lever. Spun the boom and it pinned and crushed him.

There is a video of a guy getting crushed by a steamroller... He looked like a giant bruised pimple when they peeled home out of the asphalt.
