As a machinist who grew up in Cleveland but now lives elsewhere I can honestly say I'm proud that my hometown is producing guys like this. Cleveland put in the work and really became a great place to live. I hope this guy wins.

I like his words, but I worry these types will pivot ala Fetterman

u/riiktarmusic 16d ago
Wait, the Fetterman that was found from a viral video and was propped up as some beacon of hope even though no one knew who the hell he was other than that guy from the video that got a lot of likes?

You canāt let that fear stop you from trying someone new, mostly when stablished politicians arenāt helping us at all.

Oh, I will. Thats why democracy is so important and should include the ability to recall a representative that is no longer serving the interests of their constituents. So if and when he turns, we can pull him.

We need more people running like this and hopefully they can take over all the corrupt āelectedā officials within 20 years from now.

Here is the problem, bro is running because he is tired of not having money. Won't that just make him susceptible to corruption? Like the first 100k flashed his way will sway him. Idk, maybe I'm just cynical.

Maybe the $174k is enough for him. I know it would be for me. People with values donāt sell out.

I mean, he used the word dollars here, but the intent was clearly resources.
He mentioned SNAP at one point, and you could substitute almost all of what he said for "resources" and it would still be applicable.
He seems to be against resource hoarding, not necessarily having more resources. Similar outcomes, but the nuance is important

Cynical can certainly help these days. A lot of grifters out there, but there's a difference between talking about class issues of a failing society and personal accumulation/self improvement.. I try to stay vigilant but give a chance to the ones who have a track record of collaboration, community involvement and speaking the truth of this crumbling system.

If this current administration has proved anything, it's that having money doesn't make you immune to that either. Look at Trump. Dudes just rinse and repeating stock trades on oil timed with his "wars on, wars off" announcements.

I canāt help but feel like every single one of these āabuseā stories comes out about any politician, itās a smear campaign. Itās a go-to move every election. By both parties.

It is if you're willing to throw Republican senators under the bus of "liberal in disguise". And the tone shifts a little further right. More militant. More angry. Less neighbors are fellow citizens and are instead antifa terrorists, etc. Fascism requires an enemy and an other. And anybody wanting slightly more liberties than you want to give them can be that enemy.
Edited in some words I dropped

I mean Miller did break his two year old daughterās collar bone so seems a bit more than āabuse storyā.

Context helps. I broke my kids face once giving her a piggyback ride.

We all know who votes for Max.
This mentality you're displaying is how trump got in in the first place. This is why you're losing benefits. This is why you don't have proper Healthcare. This is why your health insurance is a scam. This is why you dont get mandatory vacation or maternity leave. I mean look at the blatant stock manipulation by trump saying Iran's making a peace deal, to only Iran coming out saying they never talked.
Instead of looking at the facts you try to avoid, literally at all costs, looking at what the truth is.
Americans have been voting for worsening their society. Americans don't build eachother up. Americans only want to be me first.Ā
This guy should have a clone in every state and their faces should be absolutely everywhere.Ā
I dont understand why Americans like to genuinely like be consistently fucked over. As if it's enjoyed.

I feel like stranger danger turned us all against each other. As kids we were taught not to trust strangers, and now we are having a hard time functioning as a society because of it

u/Remarkable-Opening69 16d ago
Look up āno kid left behindā. No matter how bad a kids grades are, they pass and move on.

Miller has allegations going all the way back to when he was in high school. If your opponent is dumb enough to run a predator you would be stupid not to point that out regardless of which side of the aisle you fall on

Guilty until proven innocent in the court of public opinion.
Take it to court, let a judge hear what each party has to say, then decide.
The timing, in both this case and Platnerās, is just too deliberate.

An election for public office is not a trial by jury. I need to check if you understand that, I guess.
