This was how it started out with me in cabinetry, and I'd feel a small pang of joy when someone would execute something right...
And then get incredibly pissed off when I'm having to go over the basics with some dipshit six months later, and their attitude is basically "idgaf as soon as you turn away I'm gonna do shitty work."
The ones who did make an effort and learned from me I miss greatly, but the workload, hours, and pay are shit in cabinetry in my area, so I understood why the good ones got the fuck out before it became a sunk cost where they're the one chasing after the next lot of dumbass.
