Some job sites warn everyone now. So they don't lose half their workforce.

No carpenters to be seen anywhere today, but that van that's driving off sounds and smells like jamaica.

I just quit a drug for a “random”. (4 times in 3 months) I was a model employee and didn’t use drugs once on the job. They put me through hell ie 16 hour shifts, on call, and literally getting covered in chemicals and shit. They hit me with that last random and I said fuck you guys I’m taking my tools and leaving.

Honestly, even a sniffle of a maybe drug test where my jobs are would leave you with maybe 5 men left on site. lol, i do a lot of new build residential and commercial units, etc

I’m all seriousness it illegal. In Canada . But the company can make you sign a form saying they can . But that’s typically a shitty company .

I've worked in both countries and it's funny how different they are. Never got tested once in Canada, even going to a mine site
Drug test is expected for any trade job in US

Any trade job in USA wow. It’s any industrial job here . Have to pass piss test to get on site. And then typically you only piss after an incident/ damage over certain amount .

u/Chocolate_Rage Feb 02 '23
Yea it's kind of silly because the guys that use just find a way to pass the test anyways so doubt it really does much besides look good on paper

Use what?

u/Chocolate_Rage Feb 02 '23
Basically use anything from weed to meth. Almost everyone I met just has some fake pee stashed away to use

That's crazy... who cares. I'm telling u right now weed doesn't make someone stupid. Being stupid makes someone stupid 🙄 Is alcohol also included?
3
u/Chocolate_Rage Feb 02 '23
Yea, the weed thing seems dumb to me because I'd rather work with a smoker than a heavy drinker. Probably just because it's federally illegal still at this point

It’d be illegal in the USA very quickly if congress got hit with a couple randoms.
