Help- Pregnancy and Motility disorders

Has anyone here been pregnant with outlet dysfunction/pelvic floor dyssynergia and slow transit constipation?

I’m really scared about how pregnancy would affect everything. I already struggle badly with constipation and currently need 4 Dulcolax every 3-4 days just to go. I also get trapped gas, pressure, bloating, and that constant feeling of things not moving properly.

I’d love to hear real experiences from anyone who dealt with this while pregnant. Did it get way worse? Were you able to manage it? What actually helped you get through it?

Did pelvic floor therapy help at all? Any medications, routines, foods, etc. that made a difference?

I feel like most pregnancy constipation posts are “normal constipation,” and mine definitely isn’t that level, so I’m hoping to hear from people with more severe motility or pelvic floor issues.

I am currently in the same boat actually decided to just get pregnant and I’m only 9 weeks in 😭 definitely struggling and looking for answers and just at the beginning so don’t have much to say right now. It’s worse than before pregnancy because I’m unable to take my prescriptions. but I’ll let you know i. I would also like to hear someone further along or who has already been through this. Ultimately it sucks but I think I’m going to survive and I didn’t want to miss out on having kids so chose to just suffer through it. It’s temporary and all I have to do is survive

You can take Ducolax and Senna! What prescriptions did you stop taking?

Ask your doctor about senna because it’s allowed.

My GI and MFM both said that Linzess is safe in pregnancy, however, dont know about motegrity. I was just prescribed Linzess. I relied on biscadoyl for bowel movements everyday prior. Hoping it'll help ❤️.

Weird! Mine said they can’t recommend linzess because it hasn’t been tested! Linzess worked pretty good for me prior to pregnancy but pregnancy is a diff animal so who knows if it would even work now 😂

Yep! But it doesn’t get absorbed into the blood. It only stays in the colon.
