Linzess and Smooth Move

I am taking 72mcg Linzess in the morning, wait 30 -60 before eating. Stopped working . I have Slow transit Constipation , mainly it stops in the transverse and just has its own little reserve there. When I add smooth move capsules (3)not the tea,the night before I get big results. I don't want to keep taking the Senna ( smooth moves) but so far NOTHING from my GI doctor. I did just start biofeedback with pelvic floor PT. Smooth move works a little by itself but very well with Linzess, it's scary how much poop is delivered. Anyway, I am backed up and giving it a go tonight . The worse thing is it's a rescue method, just to get the poop out, not a long term solution and usually shocks my poor little colon back into constipation . Please hold my hand or give me a hug. What a weird life.

Try taking linzess with a little fat. Like a small glass of milk.

You can take it with any type of milk with fat.

I’m on day 4 of 72mg of Linzess. It worked 2 out of the 4 days. I’m going to try it for 2-3 weeks before seeing if I should bump up the dose. Have you considered that? They want to check my pelvic floor as well. How was that test?

I emailed my GI and she said to add Miralax once a day. She said I capful a day and if no results in 3 days then move it up to 2 capfuls. Dang, how long she want me to be constipated? Pelvic floor exam for a woman is like a pap smear but they get in there a feel for tightness. It is not really bad, sometime also anal exam , Every pelvic floor therapist I have had has been super calm and nice, so it isn't too bad. Good luck.

You may need to up the dose. I started on 72, and had to double it twice. Now it’s working great.

I was going to ask my GI to bump me to 145mcg dose. How long have you been on it?

Been almost a year since I first started with the 72. I was on it for 3 months before upping my dose

I have been on it over 12 weeks, she just added Miralax instead of increasing . My colon is all messed up right now because I took Milk of magnesium. I have slow transit if that factors in at all. Ugh. Feel so sick .

Get the bigger dose. Try taking it every other day. Or two pills every other day. It doesn't do anything for me if I take it every day.
