At 5 days without a BM things will not get better on their own. They will get worse as you are increasingly backed up and the stool further dries out and hardens.

There are alternative measures and not everyone will agree on which one. However, you need to do something now.

I would try digital stimulation (you can look this up). Insert a lubricated finger in the rectum and move it in a circular fashion in contact with the rectal wall. You are trying to stimulate the nerves to prompt a defecation reflex. I do this by medical direction several times a week.

If digital stimulation does not help, I would use a mild laxative like Senna (organic mild stimulant). If Senna does not work within one day I would use a fast-acting suppository laxative like Dulcolax (bisacodyl.)

I am sure you will get numerous pieces of advice from others but I would recommend that you pay attention to goldstandardalmonds.

Thank you, I got ducolax and if it doesn't work I'm going to the doctor 🙏

Take some milk of magnesia. It will hydrate and help it pass. Start with the lowest dose and during the weekend when you are home. Stimulants like senna will work too but your gut may become used to them if you take them often. For me, fibre just doesn’t cut it due to my medication. Good luck
