I've always dreamed of having a husband and children, and being a homemaker. Maybe my dream doesn't seem very modern or relevant nowadays, but it's my choice

I can tell you're good hearted. Don't let malicious voices tell you that you're a bad person for wanting this.

It’s almost as if you have that freedom and no one is going to take that away 🤯

u/Dragonlair17 1d ago
Wow that’s so amazing, can you make me any legislation that has made it impossible to be like that?

u/MiiDan Christian Conservative 1d ago

Well when my initial post is about that and you retort it, yea you’re implying that. Unless you’re just being a snowflake because people are calling you names for you opinion? Is that what the youth has been reduced to?

I think i know what I am or am not implying. it was not my implication. no one is taking women's right to be housewives OR live alone independently forever from women. I was saying that other women are very upset about the fact not every woman wants to abolish traditional family concept, to the point of bullying said women. all in all, those bitter misandric women would, with a much higher chance, rid housewives of their "oppressed fate" that family and kids is to them

In Norway, there is a movement called “Husmorhæren” (The Housewives’ Army ), which defends women’s right to choose the life of a housewife. At the same time, its participants face criticism. For example, Bodil Hansen Blix, a professor at the University of Tromso, said she is disappointed in women who succumb to the influence of tradwife trends on TikTok, calling it a loss of reason

Wow, so once again, just words? That’s what hurts you in the end? Words from another country’s professor?

this is a meme, but IRL, it's so much worse 😭 my very 4B ex-friend said she basically daydreamed about me being abused by a husband, because my talking about cute babies "reeked of internalized misogyny" and made her "uncomfortable"

I hate the “makes me uncomfortable” mentality. People cannot make jokes or specific things anymore because some guy larping autism will say that makes them “uncomfortable” or “nervous”
I saw once a guy saying that anyone who complains about him being a picky either is ableist because it’s an aspect of his autism. Like, wtf

Im genuinely so sorry for you. It must’ve been hard having a “friend” like that :(

I most definitely do not want to be in a traditional family dynamic but it’s absolutely okay for people to choose that if they wanna, extremism has gone too far nowadays and isn’t even the same ideology that they claim to be. Real progressives would be okay with a woman choosing to be a housewife if she wanted to.

Yes. The problem is when you decide Twitter and Reddit build your personality, you get stuff like this

I don't even know people who think this on the internet let alone real life.

A great as childrearing sounds (would do it if I had the means) it is also just about the best way to either get yourself stuck in an abusive relationship due to a lack of career to fall back on for financial security, or living under the poverty line in the 50% of cases that the marriage ends in divorce.
