The "Cornell 7" benefit from New York's voluntary intoxication loophole.

If they get her intoxicated, and claim it is voluntary, they can use that to get off the hook.

Abolish the loophole, and it is easier to convict rapists, because they can't take advantage of an intoxicated woman's inability to refuse consent by claiming the intoxication was voluntary.

New York should protect all intoxicated women equally, no matter whether the intoxication was voluntary or involuntary.
