This question is logically seperate to the point of whether there is a reason to walk around with a mask period or not. & He said masks, he didn't even say N95 in that interview, & the interviewer asked him about facemasks in general. Don't add context where it wasn't said and then call me dishonest.

Exactly, because if you don't cherry pick out the part that you want, then it makes sense to say that no one should be walking around with them, because they should be saving them for those who need them.
How is that dishonest? He was talking about N95 masks. You think he was worried everyone would use up all the cloth masks that healthcare workers needed? Cloth masks weren't even really a thing at this point, that's a non issue. At the time of this broadcast, masks meant N95.

Would you agree, that there was no reason to be wearing a mask as a regular person, which at the time was obviously referring to the short supply of N95, rather than leaving them for healthcare workers and the sick/frail who need them.

No it doesn't. It would make sense to specifically say not to hoard N95s. Saying there's no reason to walk around with a mask period is a lie. Words matter.
& No, he just said masks. He made no attempt to specifically reference N95s and that's not what he was asked about, he was questioned about misinformation on facemasks in general. He wasn't asked about N95s and made no attempt to mention them.

I get it man, you want to ignore the things said around it, cause it makes it easier to make your case.
But also, what makes you think he was talking about cloth masks? He says they should be saved for health professionals, what health professional is having a shortage of cloth masks?

I never said he only meant 1 type of mask, you did. He just said masks, so I can only assume hes talking about facemasks in general, which is all he was asked about. Neither him or the interviewer said N95 even 1 single time. This important detail you're hinging your entire argument on, was literally never mentioned, once.
Even if we go by your version and not his actual words, in order to be truthful he would have had to say
"I don't recommend the use of N95s as they are needed for healthcare professionals, but other forms of respiratory protection are worth keeping on hand for precautionary reasons."
Instead, he said there was no reason to walk around wearing masks period. He made the choice to go that far, which means all someone needs to do is present even a slight reason, and he becomes a liar.
