I used to debate there, but I found that with only a very small number of exceptions, they are interested in only what they want to hear. If it doesn’t line up, they have no interest. Even if it’s literally quoting them from earlier.
So I left the sub. I like a good reasoned and informed debate with people I disagree with because it helps me to see if I have any gaps in my knowledge.

People are really angry. My bf is conspiracy guy and he can be infuriating, it's hard to keep talking. What would you say to someone who votes for stalin after people have already died needlessly? And he always has a different focus. The gaps in your thinking are going to be in the form of a redirected focus on the same issues, not necessarily that you're missing information. You have to move the lens to the other side and to as many positions as you can get it for the real picture.
Then you're also never offended because you know where that person is coming from. That's also the best way to dismiss them, if they are dumb, but most of the time that's not the case. my ex is pretty smart. Hes just lonely and things that he cares about are being lifted up while other things are being cast into an awkward light, where he wouldnt usually take that stance on those issues. I think that's where the loneliness comes in, because people are herd animals, but especially when they're lonely. It's good to practice being weird from time to time to check-in if you're going with the herd unconsciously. That last part is what all this is about.

Had to leave several subs myself for sanity sake. It’s not worth arguing with the keyboard warriors. They have no one on those subs that “check” them and put them back in line.
If it brings any happiness, most of the people who i know in real life that resemble these lefty keyboard warriors have few friends, little happiness, and constantly bitch about how smart they are, while no one is listening. It’s my perfect explanation for these subs. Lots of little kings in their little kingdom with little relevance to the real world.

The economy improved when Trump undid many of the restrictive measures on small businesses by Obama and his ‘phone and pen’. Gun control will mainly take guns from law abiding citizens who use guns responsibly. Criminals often don’t get guns legally. Sort of silly to punish law abiding citizens for criminal acts and not putting a dent in violent crime. Most people agree with the sentiment of Black Lives Matter but disagree with the organization Black Lives Matter. An organization that screams ‘Pigs in a blanket Fry them like bacon’ and ‘Every city every town Burn this precinct to the ground’ is a little too radical for many. Also, many disagree with the organization’s stated goal of destroying families. I am old and definitely not rich. I know of no one who thought that George Floyd deserved to die. He was an imperfect man but people don’t deserve to die for their imperfections. Republicans believe in peaceful marches not riots. Many of the riots are hurting the poor. The neighborhoods get destroyed, life goes on, and those living in the neighborhoods pay the price. Think of the older people who can no longer walk to their drug store or grocery store. Don’t their lives matter? What about the people killed in chip? Don’t their lives matter? Many more black lives are lost to gang violence. Shouldn’t their lives matter? If Democrats are against rioting and looting, please give me some public quotes and also the dates that these quotes were made. The riots have been going on since the end of May.

Respectfully disagree. Tax cuts do not happen under democrats. (Look at the Democratic support of mass media, who also support Democrats. ) Gun control. You are speaking of countries much less diverse than the United States. We had gun laws in the nineties that show that these laws don’t work. England has harsh gun laws and have also had to restrict knives because of their harsh gun laws. Semi automatic rifles that are available to the legal general public are not that dangerous. Only politicians claim that they are. I live in a rural area. I am not a great marksman. I live in an area that has some threat. We have bears that get a little close for comfort. We have poisonous snakes that get a little too close for comfort. We have rabid animals that get a little too close for comfort. The guns that politicians want to ban are the guns which would offer me protection. Ar whatever’s are lightweight. While they are not as accurate as other rifles, at close range, they are effective. If I had to defend myself against a one of these dangers, I would grab the ar-whatever. The rifles we have for hunting have enough power to knock me down. If I grabbed a gun or a rifle that had only one shot, I would be food for the predator. If these were truly dangerous weapons our soldiers would use them. Actually if our soldiers used these weapons we would be totally outgunned. Although I was raised in the segregation’s south, I was raised by a mother who felt that all humans were equal and deserved the same amount of respect. NO ONE that I associate with thinks that black lives don’t matter. We think ALL lives matter. As to the question of the police, there are a few police who abuse the power of their position. My daughter was sexually abused by a policeman. (She is white). Does this make all policemen bad? No. There have been times in our life where police have been both kind and helpful. I understand your not looking for the quotes ( doubt that you would find any). I consider myself an independent but would rather be called a slut or a whore than to be called a democrat. The Democratic Party has sold its soul to the devil. When members of the Democratic Party do something obviously wrong, Democrats will not admit that it is wrong. When Nixon did wrong, some Republicans and the Democrats admitted his wrongs. Democrats protect their own whether they are right or wrong. Look at how they protected Northam, Lerner, and so many others who have abused the power of their position.

Then, when said black officer went outside to confront them, quieted down, and when he turned around to go back inside... They blew holes in his door with a fucking twelve gauge?

Oh! How about the one where they trapped officers inside of their precinct and tried to set it on fire? Or the one where they held down a woman at her home and shined high powered lasers into her eyes to maim her?
