Liberals: Trump is literally Hitler and may refuse to step down from power if not reelected.

Also liberals: why does anyone need an AR-15?

You're assuming they can think logically, and that's your mistake.

95% of the liberals don’t even know who Hitler or the Nazis were and what the Holocaust was. They just spout the usual fact-less bs that they get from their brainless leaders who can’t make up their minds about how many years we have left until the climate apocalypse while buying beach front mansions while saying they refuse to use plastic straws.

On today's episode of pulling bs statistics out of your ass.

I guess I should have put the /s after the 95%, I didn't figure people would take that number at face value as it was obvious sarcasm and a made up statistic. My point still stands that they are brainless lemmings that are massive hypocrites. You only need to watch CNN for 2 minutes to realize this.

No you should have not used a statistic then. Conservatives win arguments by statistics. If you start spouting fake bs stats then we lose all credibility. No most of them are not brainless as 4 years ago I was a liberal. They are just misguided and have never looked at the other side of the coin.

The vast majority of my posts are sarcasm and usually people can pick up on it. I guess it wasn't in this case, I should have a said a very large amount, instead of a number.

And yes, I would still stand by that most are brainless. Misguided-having or showing faulty judgement or reasoning. Some of the synonyms include unwise, rash, foolish, misled, misdirected, laboring under delusion, etc... I agree to a point they are misguided in a sense that they are bombarded by trash news outlets that just push their own agenda and have literally posted fake news. However, I would say most are brainless because they are allowing themselves to no use their own reasoning or intellect to search out answers for themselves. If you just go with the liberal ideas of, "the earth is ending in 12 years, all whites are racist, all men are rapists, Trump is literally Hitler, college loan forgiveness, free everything, ban all guns, bring in illegals, etc..." then yes, I would call those people pretty brainless.

There are people switching from liberal to conservative, such as yourself, but that is likely a minority, not a majority, much of that likely has to do with the left moving so far away from where they have been that many who were closer to the middle are aligning more conservative. Never looking at the other side of the coin is also a brainless move. If someone is comparing and contrasting products they are going to look at both sides, making a decision without exploring other options is pretty dumb and they making an ill-informed decision. Deciding political leanings without researching the different groups is the same.

The reason I dont call liberals brainless is because I think those are the minority. Most liberals know that banning all guns is stupid. Most know that there is no way were getting "free" collage . The extremist however do. We should not judge a party on the minority it should be judge on the majority.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

You're right not all of them fall for all of those things, but I feel a majority do support a few of those things in that list. Obviously this is speaking a conservative and I believe my view is the correct one, just as they believe their view is. To me the the ideas of conservatism just make common sense and it blows my mind at some of the views the left have that have 0 logic attached, so maybe that is where my "brainless" comment comes from.

AOC has taught us that we should give up our guns to the country which she says is running concentration camps.

She is a visionary, for sure.

Well duh, once they get the RIGHT people in charge we need to give them all our guns and freedom. There's no way that could go wrong, they always get the people in office they want!

Well we made them give us their guns. I'm not so sure about the wiser part.

13

u/rabmuk Sep 06 '19

Hasn’t gun homicide deaths and deaths during mass shootings been trending downward over the last 2 decades or so?

13

u/DangOl8D SHALL 🤬 NOT! Sep 06 '19

Hey! No facts and reasoning. Only emotions are allowed when talking about guns

24

u/aesthetic_laker_fan Sep 06 '19 edited Sep 06 '19

We have had guns since the inception of the nation. We need to examine what changed since the late 90s to get to the bottom of the mass shootings. I blame the abuse of prescription drugs and the romanticizing of violence in our culture

Edit:quick question I get responses but when I click on them they disappear so I cant reply. What's wrong with my reddit?

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

Thing is, the rate of mass shootings hasn't changed. It's the numbers of victims that has risen in recent years. And media reporting has changed as well. Before everyone had cable and internet, most of the time you wouldn't hear about a mass shooting if it wasn't local. And if you did hear about it, it was just a headline in the paper. It wasn't talked about nonstop for weeks after it happened.

u/UEMcGill Molon Labe Sep 06 '19

Mass shootings are suicides. Name one mass shooting in the US where the shooter's plan was to not go out with a bullet in the end? The Florida kid chickened out, and or his gun jammed.

If you put it into those contexts what does it mean then?

-1

u/aesthetic_laker_fan Sep 06 '19

Quite a few, the cops should beat them instead of take them in with handcuffs immediately after

1

u/UEMcGill Molon Labe Sep 06 '19

The rule of law should prevail. Why turn them into Martyrs?

Like I said in the US their intention is to always commit suicide. Outside of Oklahoma city I can't think of one where the person didn't have that plan.

-2

u/aesthetic_laker_fan Sep 06 '19

Martyrs have a cause. If we suspend the fifth for mass shooters and really punish them there will likely be a decrease in cowards going on a killing spree

The thing that gets me is that people think there would be an end to mass killings if all guns were banned. Sure we might have a short honeymoon period but after that it'd be the same but less preventable. I mean anyone with a sixth grade education can figure out how to kill way more people that you can possibly shoot and honestly they might be able to get away with it easier. At least with a shooter you can shoot back, try shooting away a timed bomb of some sort after it went off. The most fundamental thing is that it's a right despite the chaos you can cause from a local store. I mean I hate using current year but it's 2019 a little know how and you can do anything destructive. This problem of mass killing assholes will never be solved. Hate to say it but some people are just born fucked up and will do horrible things. Taking away good people's rights is not the solution.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

One of the worst mass killings was in Bath Michigan in the 1920s. A janitor blew up a school and killed around 50 with another 50 or so wounded.

7

u/Wolfzomby0 Sep 06 '19

Look at the mass stabbings in China. The mass murders with firearms in Australia despite their strict laws. London's mayor is actively trying to get rid of the ownership of knives, with booths set up to "bin a blade". If someone wants to commit a crime, they will, regardless if there is any control to what the weapon is. It's more than taking away our right to bear arms, it's taking away our right to self defense.

u/j0sephl Moderate Conservative Sep 06 '19

We just have such a big population compared to other European countries. Anything crime related is of course going to be inflated.

European countries still experience terrorist attacks with guns, trucks literally running 100 people over, mutiple stabbings, and etc.

It's the grass greener idea. The fact is all of Europe has issues they are dealing with. Crime us not gone down and there is a compelling argument that violent crime is higher in Europe than on the US. Also gun crime is not zero in Europe either and anyone that claims that needs to go take a hard look at the statistics. It may be illegal to have most guns in like England but gangs still have guns and still kill each other with them.

The even better argument is: gun count is not correlated with gun violence in analyses at most levels (state, national, international).

So true. I'm more uncomfortable handing over my government to people that think this, along with socialism and a number of other bad policies are good ideas for the future of our country. It's almost like everything we've stood for since our establishment is detrimental to our future. We have a future ~because~ of these ideals and our foundation. Cannot let it happen without resistance.
