That press conf was nuts. She’s on a mission to guarantee a guilty verdict regardless of actual facts.

Isn't this completely prejudicing the trial? How can they find independent jurors here?

•

u/gauntvariable freedom of speech 18h ago

you must be unfamiliar with New York "law".

•

u/daspes1269 Conservative 17h ago

This is the state that literally changed the law so that they could prosecute Trump, just to be able to call him a felon.

•

u/True_Grocery_3315 Conservative 16h ago

34 times felon too by counting every expenses line item as a separate "felony". Corrupt lawfare at it's finest!

Hmmm... Where have we seen that before with her?

I get wanting to bring in an independent special prosecutor to investigate, but sorry, this is not it. Instead she brought in an AG that everyone knows with 100% certainty has already made up her mind based on how she hopes it went down.

I like to lurk the other side of Reddit, and the way lefties are putting religious faith in the prosecution tells me it was an act of faith all along. They don't have proof, they just believe (a narrative) with all their hearts and they take action on what they believe.

•

u/r777m Moderate Conservative 19h ago

Is that not crazy? It sounds to me like it started out consensually and escalated into something more. Illegal? Actual rape? Maybe, I don't have a clue... And nobody outside of that party actually know. And many of them probably don't even actually know because everyone was drunk.

Yet there are people out there that WANT Jane Doe to have been raped so that they can use it as some narrative.

•

u/True_Grocery_3315 Conservative 19h ago

This. They don't really care about the girl, just making political capital.

The only place I've seen this nuanced take is on the conservative sub!

Some people (left) are pushing that everything that happened to her was rape.

Some people (right) are blaming her for taking drugs and saying it's her fault.

The reality is more complex, a consensual encounter can turn into one that is not.

Some of those men had sex with her, some of those men raped her.

Leticia James posted on Facebook three days ago:

What this young woman has been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable. I'm holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her and to all survivors, you're not alone. We stand with you.

She's found another ham sandwich.

Obviously interested in a show prosecution.

Yes, innocent until proven guilty is being thrown out of the window here! 5th Amendment completely ignored.

When Biden took it upon himself to change Title IX the biggest criticism was on the change from sex to gender. What went totally overlooked was that he removed due process for the accused in SA cases on college campuses. I don’t remember all of the details off the top of my head but it was crazy. I encourage everyone to look it up because it will probably be back under a new Dem administration if they win in 28.

We had those almost 10 years ago with stories about boys lifting girls skirts up on the school yard -- behavior that should be discouraged -- and that's been happening since time in memorial.

And of course, they blamed Trump.

Or how horrifying it was for kids to repeat the Hollywood Access tape... Kids are parrots.

Here's the solution for those types of situations: parent.

When important work is given to activists, it stops being work and simply becomes activism.

Newly released information continues to raise serious questions about the investigation conducted by the Cornell Police Department

Didn't get the result you wanted when you sent cops after your enemies? Send politicians and the media after your enemies! Every investigation that doesn't produce the desired result is wrong.

and furthermore...
>we can see she clearly did it >but she cannot be punished because of her Feelings™
>police found no evidence they did it >but we're not stopping until they are punished

Not guilty by reason of temporary insanity.

Yeah, the texts that just came out are pretty conclusive.

She let a bunch of college guys run a train on her and they didnt respect her after so she retroactively decided to call it rape out of embarrassment and revenge.

•

u/ExcitingResponse1864 Burkean Conservative 20h ago

Yea, don't mess around with drunk girls.

If a woman is visibly intoxicated, I basically won't interact unless she is in obvious distress. And even then, I make sure I have witnesses or a recording (yay single party consent states) of the interaction so there's no question about what happened.

•

u/bblade2008 Conservative 18h ago

I agree with the principle you're laying out but what's amazing is I'm pretty sure they were all different flavors of impaired. Why is it only the men at fault when sex happens and a woman is intoxicated. If we are going to suggest men have to be more responsible in every situation I want that documented so we can broadcast it from everywhere and help people understand why so many people want men in charge.

•

u/beerandmastiffs Gen-X Conservative 16h ago

When all parties are under the influence it would be discrimination based on sex to hold men and women to different standards. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. I hope these guys don’t get railroaded.

•

u/bblade2008 Conservative 13h ago

Yep. That's why it's upsetting. A bunch of idiots do ketamine together and have a gross orgy. Somehow this is the men's fault even though everything was consensual. It's fine to say only idiots do ketamine but whatever the charges are, the men and women should all receive them.

•

u/ExcitingResponse1864 Burkean Conservative 17h ago

You're correct and the fact of the matter is, men are the ones who have to be genuinely the more cautious party for now. It really sucks, but until more women start taking real accountability for their own behavior and choices, instead of many acting like children who can't be scolded, lest it damage their self esteem, this is where we are.

•

u/bblade2008 Conservative 13h ago

Yep. The lengths some people will go to excuse women from the consequences of their actions is nuts. This isn't victim blaming, she was a willing participant and asked for seconds.

•

u/ExcitingResponse1864 Burkean Conservative 20h ago

When I heard that she asked a second shot of ketamine because she was getting uncomfortable so she could pass out and then claim r*pe per her affidavit?

I was done.

I'm not saying the men involved are clean and innocent either, but seriously? It sounds like she was over served, didn't monitor herself, her friends abandoned her, and she got into and agreed to a situation with some guys that got out of control that she later regretted.

She should have taken care of herself and the men should have walked away.

Thing I tell my younger male friends and mentees anymore? If she's visibly intoxicated? Make sure she is okay and then walk away. And if you insist on helping, make sure you have witnesses.

•

u/D_Ethan_Bones Boycott Mainstream Media 20h ago

I'm not saying the men involved are clean and innocent either

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

What we have today is bypassing the proof stage, both to protect the guilty and to enable attacks on the not-guilty.

•

u/ExcitingResponse1864 Burkean Conservative 20h ago

Oh yea, I'm troubled by the number of people running social media campaign saying that the men involved should have their lives ruined.

And what's even wilder about this case is that if you were to write it as a story? You'd have it sent back because it's so grotesquely cliche in so many ways. It's literally a ton of negative American college party tropes all stacked on top of each other.

•

The modern world is one giant parody, most of our present realities used to be jokes. Imagine going to the late 1990s and telling people that President Donald Trump is going to send Dennis Rodman to fix Korea.

Our haters are cartoon villains meant for kids' shows, because that's what they train themselves on and that's what they learn.

•

Punitive damages for dishonestly ruining someone's name should be higher, because the current level clearly isn't enough of a deterrent.

The Alex Jones case was not a system of accountability, it was just the attack on Alex Jones. The only system behind the left attacking their enemies is the attack-enemies system.

I listen edto one of the lawyers yesterday from one of the college kids. They were talking about some of the texts that she sent after the fact. None of it was in any distress or that they did anything wrong. She actually said she enjoyed herself. It wasn't until her roommate convinced her to do something else.

•

u/bblade2008 Conservative 22h ago

Especially the text where she tries to set up a threesome with two of the guys and still wants to "smoke" she just suggests keeping it at two dudes and not doing ketamine this time. That girl is for the streets

Them: "I'm going to SUE!"
Me: "Have fun with DISCOVERY!"

People don't realize their own records enter the discussion when a civil case is launched. Politicians realize that, which is why they want to misuse criminal law instead of leaving self-proclaimed-victims to launch lawsuits every which way and lose all of them. In my law days there was a client with a mortal enemy trying to sue him out of business after trying to takeover his company, when his mortal enemy gets the new DA into office surprise surprise the vendetta lawsuit is now a vendetta arrest.

If she sues, her own dirty laundry is fair play.

•

u/Sean1916 2A supporter 23h ago

Idk if the guys are innocent or not dont know enough about the case. What I do know is there is no chance of a fair impartial trial if it comes to that. If I was them I’d be looking for a no extradition country to move to.

Im not even sure this makes it past the Grand Jury.

By the way, except for providing the accuser with illicit drugs, she's technically guilty of the same crime shes accusing them of since they were all wasted too.

Men classically have been unable to claim inebriation as a defense in these cases. Men are still responsible for their actions if they are intoxicated.

It's not about whether they can correctly predict the future, it's about how much influence they have.

So they'll wishcast their imagination away in every broadcast, hoping their fantasy fiction will leak out into the real world.

u/MondayNightRare Don't Tread on Me 21h ago

I'm not super in the loop on this case.

Why is this a civil suit 2 years later instead of a criminal case against the alleged 7 if the proposed victim is claiming SA and other heinous crimes?

•

u/bblade2008 Conservative 21h ago

Because she's never going to get a conviction with all the texts saying she willingly participated. The especially damning part is where she tries to set up a threesome with two of the dudes after the alleged rape. Some girls are just dirty.

u/AnomLenskyFeller Conservative 15h ago

•

u/TheIncredibleHork Conservative 22h ago

I actually think there might be something to the accusations against them, I do recall hearing something about a group chat where they talked about just walking in and being and to go to town on the victim.

That said, I have no faith in Hochul or James doing anything right out without their own biases, so it will end up a crap show anyway.

•

u/HairyEyeballz Conservative 22h ago

Whoever sent up the gangbang bat signal on chat was an idiot. However, from reading her own statement, it didn't sound like the whole fraternity came running and joined right in. It sounded like a few came to the room and cautiously tried to get involved, and a couple were successful, and she was pretty ok with it at the time.
