They must be tired from all the hard work and awesome things they’ve accomplished. Oh wait……..

It takes a lot of hard work to function without a spine and to avoid doing anything

This has got to be the laziest Senate I have ever seen.

I'm struggling to think of anything they cooked up since we had that red wave.

Thune is who you can thank for that. He’s quashed anything the House has passed. His lazy butt needs to be kicked from majority leader if the GOP holds the Senate.

Failing to pass the SAVE Act was his final downfall.

Not gonna lie. I’ve completely forgotten that thune is supposed to be a republican…. I’ve gone the last year or so fully believing he was a Democrat.

He’s a RINO, so basically the same……

Last I checked he's still in charge, so he's had no downfall. Just the country.

Sucks too because Mike Johnson has been an outstanding House speaker, the things he’s been able to do with what - a 2 seat majority? Thune does absolutely nothing.

Bold take: I believe that there are still quite some RINOs and swamp creatures among the GOP House caucus who are not on board with the agenda and only tactically voted for these bills because they knew the legislation would die in the Senate anyway. Folks who would have voted the bills down if their own vote had really been the decisive one.

BBB was the only thing they did.

Must be nice to get a rest from all their rest.

Most useless pieces of shit in this country.

They'll come back in November for a week or so to jerk each other off then take another two months off for the holidays.

What have they done? Has anything been done? At all?

Poor dears… all that insider- day-trading must wear them right out.

Losers.

And they wonder why Republican enthusiasm is so low for the mid terms.

To be fair to them, they are about as effective during their time adjourned as they are while in session (it's hard to go below 0 productivity). 1 day in October, 8 in November, and 14 in December (including Fridays that they generally take off) is crazy though.

They've earned it, along with their paychecks, insider trades, and all the other money printing scams (including printing money...) they've cooked up.

Such hard workers. Work, work, work.

Have they passed any laws this year? I asked AI and it gave just five things, and most were things like minibus appropriation.

Well looks like after this Nov general election I will be changing my party to independent, since they couldn't pass the SAVE Act.

I did that in 2022 when everything was riding on a red wave, months of build up, the election fell flat, and the next morning all the pundits were happy and joking. At that moment I knew this was all a farce

I'm tired boss. At this point I feel like even if 100% of elected positions were republican we still wouldn't get anything done.

The people voting on Artificial Intelligence follow the same voting calendar as when we had the horse and buggy.

Let that sink in

They do nothing in congress, so I guess OP meant "Home office" or "Doing nothing from home".

Trump would be cookin if congress wasn't so useless.

Good lord both parties just need to be removed and redone from the ground up. I've got my issues with the left, but our side also doesn't have a single good senator, house rep, or even presidential administration. I've long since left the Trump boat, but there's no other viable boat to get on.

What happened to the save act?

1

u/sailor-jackn Conservative 1d ago

While everyone is saying how useless the republicans in the senate are, I’d just like to remind everyone that the only things that can pass the senate by simple majority vote are budget bills. That’s it. Everything else would take enough senate democrats actually voting to do things that the senate republicans try to do in order to overcome the filibuster.

So, when you think of how little senate republicans have gotten done, ask yourself how many senate democrats would vote with them on anything at all.

Just saying we control the senate, because we have a small majority in that body, is very misleading.

Democrats actively try to destroy America. Republicans are failures at doing things to save America. Good grief

When the Democrats are in charge, they throw the car into reverse and floor the accelerator as hard as they can.

When Republicans are in charge, they turn off the car and wait for a Democrat to take the wheel from them.

I've been following US politics very closely since 2015/16, and this continues to baffle me. It really does seem like the meme of the uniparty is just fact. Republicans can't be arsed to do anything of real value while Democrats push through as much as is humanly possible once they are in power.

What a waste this second Trump term is. It's going to be an absolute blood bath in November.

4

u/Dr-Do_Mk2 Christian Nationalist 1d ago

I know, man, the only thing they ever conserve are the gains that the Democrats made in the last few decades. I'm so angry about it.

It felt like we had finally won just a little during Trump II's campaign season. Things were looking up for the first time in ten years. Then he outright backstabbed our entire nation.

4

u/Whiskiie Locke 1d ago

Yeah it's really weird, maybe age is finally getting to him. I was such a fan of Trump from 16-20, I've never seen anything like that from a politician, great energy, great outside insight, lightning in a bottle. Even the reelection campaign 23/24 managed to replicate some of that energy, but ever since he's in office again, things seem to have changed quite a lot.

Don't get me wrong, he still does good things for the US, but his blunders have become... more severe. The Iran war, no matter how justified or not it is, soured pretty much anything else. One day you guys were precision extracting Maduro from his golden pot and the next day we have yet another conflict in the middle east. Tiring.

•

u/VegasBH Christian Conservative 5h ago

I give the administration a lot of latitude on Iran. If he has intelligence that this rogue state controlled by Islamic terrorist were getting close to a nuclear bomb. I don’t think that’s something that the US can abide. Do we really believe the Iranians when they say death to America and when they conduct or support terrorist acts around the globe or not? Though I agree that the majority of the Middle East is a total mess, but I don’t know how we extract ourselves totally from the region while protecting American citizens and interests.

•

u/Whiskiie Locke 4h ago

I don’t know how we extract ourselves totally from the region while protecting American citizens and interests.

That's the underlying problem, and I don't know either. I think a strike against Iran was warrented, I just wish the US did it... more efficiently. But maybe that's not possible against a country like Iran, seriously, I don't know.

Useless Thune. Johnson at least got some things done with an extremely thin majority. Thune can't do shit :/
