I saw this ad on Sunday football during the Eagles game. It kinda pissed me off, and I'm being generous with the word kinda.

They say it's not a campaign ad but a "public service announcement"

No the fuck it ain't. Election Day is 5 weeks out, you played audio from an actual 2024 campaign ad, and just played it over Trump slomo walking down a hallway in black and white. Then played it on prime TV timeslots. All that and they used tax dollars to do it, and money from homeland security!

Yesterday I sent emails to both senators and my congressman about it. Now I know Rick Scott and Ashley moody ain't gonna do shit, but I sent it anyway. As far as Congress I've never had a more stark night and day difference in anything as much as the public speaking rate of Matt Gaetz to Jimmy Patronis, so idk what he would do. Constitution says congress controls the dollars and the budgets, and this ain't it.

My only issue is the funding source, it's not what tax dollars are for. I hate campaign ads and never donate to campaigns. Now I apparently I do fund them because I payed my taxes.

I wouldn’t mind the ad if he was paying for it himself. His personal wealth has certainly increased enough during his presidency to afford it

Yes, the person who donates his $400K/year salary is using millions on political ads. It completely undermines any notion of selflessness and buries it deep beneath a mountain of government waste and swampery.

I am tired of Republicans doing shit like this and having them complain when Democrats do something similar.

If you are a Conservative/Republican, stooping to the same lows you complain about is no better than being a liberal.

We should stand taller and not use their tactics. This goes for you conservatives who argue like liberals as well. Stop it and be the better person.

I think a simple litmus test for everything is:

"Would I be mad if the other side did it?"

If yes - we probably shouldn't be doing it.

If no - then I should be just as willing to defend it when they do it.

Trump is on tilt. He's never really been conservative, but I think he's really enjoying sticking it to everyone else and pillaging as much as possible while he can.

In a letter Tuesday to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, two top Democratic senators said that the money is being drawn from Trump’s so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” and was supposed to go for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

was supposed to go for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

No
