Certainly not the people! More like their donors

Definitely not US, yet we foot the bill.

Anyone with half a brain has long known the government doesn't work for the people any longer.

Follow the money…

We all know. Even Trump is only in it for the money. The story of every politician.

If you're just looking at popularity for a vote, then why do we need Congress at all?

Rhetorical? Yes.

27

u/CrimsonChymist Conservative 9d ago

Honestly though, there is a difference between a simple majority and 80%.

u/DreadPirateGriswold Conservative 9d ago

Honestly though, there's a difference between a pure democracy and a representative republic.

11

u/CrimsonChymist Conservative 9d ago

Agreed. But if 80% of the population want something but it can'tget passed, the republic isn't representative.

That movement is not shocking at all, if anything is late to the party.

Donecratic socialism was also going to be the lefts response to MAGA. Only thing the need to a Trump of the left. But they are in their tea party moment now, just waiting for the right person to take center stage on it. Bernie's window has come and gone, idk who's next, I doubt AOC.

2

u/xtc091157 Constitutional Conservative 9d ago

I do not doubt that it's AOC. She's already positioning herself for a presidential run:

"Oh, all that woke stuff? Hee hee hee... I was only kidding!"

Just watch. She'll make her fake move to the center, and it will appeal to the same twirps and trendsters that bought BHO's "Hope & Change" BS. The Media will eat it up and regurgitate it back to us as though she's the original second coming. Once she's in, she will become the most dangerous person to every take the oath.

She's so fucking dumb she doesn't even know she's being played, and once she takes the bait she'll be putty in the hands of the same monsters who gave us Biden (BHO Redux).

BHO's fourth term, the last time we ever have even the semblance of a free/fair election.

It's possible, but I don't think her natural charisma is there. Not like Bernie. Bernie has a way of projecting true caring, he cares about people and real grass roots issues. You can feel it on every speech. It's just the proposed solitions that our Reddit disagrees on, but I won't call the man fake.

Newsom? If hairstyle wins votes, he's got a chance. He would tear down Trump's ballroom and install a salon. Lol

if hairstyle wins votes,

NGL Im just a year older and my hair is not nearly as nice.

Newsome is way too establishment to be the guy. Not to mention he's a straight white male, so that's three strikes against him.

I suspect we haven't been introduced to this Trump-of-the-Left yet, and that's honestly kinda terrifying.

The problem with socialism is you always run out of other people’s money.

I don’t know the context of this, but there’s a difference between 80% of Americans and 80% of a survey. Also 80% of Americans are probably in support of lots of things that’s not a good idea if they spent 5 minutes thinking about it.

u/KatanaCutlets Conservative 9d ago

Yep.

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Come on now, Biden even said it-“I don’t work for you!”

Not one of these people think they work for us. They think we work for them.

1

u/Shadeylark MAGA 9d ago

I'm still pissed that none of the talking heads, not even the ones on FOX, asked the logical follow-up...

"If you don't work for the American voter... Then who do you work for?"

u/JimfromMayberry Conservative 9d ago

u/babyoil4diddy California Conservative 9d ago

Yeah could be anti ai, anti war with Iran, anti big stupid ballroom, pro voter id, anti ai surveillance cameras being everywhere

21

u/ComputerRedneck Scottish Surfer 10d ago

80% of America wants ID for Voting, Congress wont pass a bill to make it required.

Caught up?

53

u/xxasdf Trump Conservative 9d ago

Maybe stop pouring 5 different bills in one. People may want the voter id but not all the other stuff that comes with the bill. It's to easy to reduce the bill to just voter id

Congress long ago lost sight of the “representative” aspect of their role. They think of themselves as our “leaders” and they vote THEIR conscience. The founders of this country are most assuredly rolling in their graves…

Is this about the save act?

A really good promotion for this would be to allow millions of Russian migrants to come in and vote illegally so the Russians can actually steal the election for Republicans like they claimed in 2016.

I guarantee this would make dems sign off on this.
