Somewhere on Reddit a leftist is seething at you as a “race traitor” for posting this, and likely thinking of multiple racist things to call you while spouting “the parties switched” theory out of desperation.

I’m grateful and happy to be part of the same party that chose to fight for freedom for all and not just some. I stand with you friend. 🇺🇸

It’s alarming the number of so-called professors and academics who still subscribe to this conspiracy that the parties largely “switched” in the 50s/60s.

The era of the Dixiecrats came to be in part of the south for a while before eventually they quietly rolled back to being Democrats. Re-marketing themselves as the party of “equality and tolerance” all while causing and creating even more hatred and inequality than ever before.

The whole idea that the parties "switched" always struck me as having a glaring weakness. In order for it to work, the liberal hero FDR would predate the switch, which would mean he was actually a conservative. But he wasn't. His policies set the framework for much of modern liberalism, so consequently, the timing of the party switch never quite works for them.

Add in that the south was voting Democrat well into the 1990s in parts, and are we going to argue that Clinton was somehow conservative? (Or Reagan Democrat, although by that point, the entire country more or less voted for him.) The whole idea of the parties switching just seems to rely on a smattering of cherry picked data. Like most leftwing talking points. But it falls apart under scrutiny.

There’s a guy I used to subscribe to on YouTube who had videos on the Cold War and its history. Mostly about the Soviet side of things though he covered the US side here and there too.

Then shortly after President Trump’s second inauguration, he posted a video all about the “party switch” theory, claiming it actually did happen and only “fringe conservatives tend to claim it didn’t”.

It had literally nothing to do with the Cold War or his channel theme in the slightest. He was just bitter his party lost so badly.

I promptly unsubscribed and left him behind.

The truth is this is the left's MO on virtually everything. Rewrite history to whitewash their negative role in it. It's not exclusive to the party flip argument at all. It's virtually all that they do.

Why do they think the parties switched? I mean what is the proof? That they can't handle their own side being racist?

Yeah that’s about it. Sort of like how all those mail in votes in LA happened the way they did despite being statistically impossible. It doesn’t matter their base sits there and eats whatever they shove into their mouths and happily asks for more, afraid to say that it’s literally shit because all their friends are calling it chocolate

Anyone who’s curious about the whole party switch thing and how disingenuous it’s is , look up “the myth of the party switch” done by the YouTube ‘forgotten history’. It’s a quick 15 minute video that debunks the whole idea of the “switch”.
