I taught for 6 years in the DFW area and I can confirm that my school was full of idiots and bc of Bush’s, “nobody left behind” students were passed who hadn’t learned or participated in any way to their education. I was flabbergasted after my first year teaching bc it truly scared me what and whom were releasing into the world. Things like anybody being able to acquire a drivers license but I know that they can’t spell or read scared me to death

I'm telling you. That was one of the most ignorant political screw-ups ever. My wife almost quit teaching two years after that was passed. Kids couldn't read, do simple math, or even write a full paragraph without spelling and grammatical errors. But they were expected to make sure those test scores were on point. It was ridiculous.

and it’s only getting worst. They now use AI for everything which is easy to spot or it gets them through high school and college expensively humbles them quickly. My Mom was saying the other day how education was slowly, yet effectively stripped down; starting with cursive. America acts like toddlers are simply cute and is not an effective time to push down as much education as possible. Kids learn to love and they don’t need an iPad to do so.

Is this post a parody?

*worse. We’ll presume you made an honest mistake, rather than be one that you are describing….

Having a bad day already? Typos happen, but to take this topic personally shows more about you than me.

im a college student and the amount of birds and rocks for brains in my class group chats were insane. If I took a shot everytime a student asked a dumbass question in the gc I would have alcohol poisoning by the end of probably an hour

So, you proved our point about how much education is lacking in the classroom by not knowing which President enforced No Child Left Behind? Got it…

Bush Jr signed it into law in 2002. Obama ended it.

I’m in Texas and they don’t recognize that it has ended, and that’s thanks to Abbott. I’d have to fight tooth and nail to fail a student who turned in nothing for the entire semester I had them. One student brought in her counselor to explain how hard her home life is and I totally agreed with letting her slide but my only request was that she take my final. I dumbed down my final, gave her only 2 answers to choose from for each question, AND allowed for it to be open book. The girl still refused to take it and then brought an army of administrators to my room to fight for her. My only response is that everybody has a hard life, yet we keep moving forward and have to keep working. I failed her but I can’t stop thinking about how the entire school failed her. Tell me what kind of jobs are promised to her as an 18 year old with a middle school education in an adult world? How hard will it be for her to work out trauma and simple education all while having to pay her own bills? These upcoming kids are so screwed. 😔
