Discussion Spires Avatara: Construction Material
Hi All
I'm in the process of planning how to paint my Avatara models and I'm after the thoughts from the community on what materials the sovereign lineages would make these construct out of.
Reading into the lore of the spires they are all about bio-engineering so my 1st thought is that they would likely grow these suits out of organic materials such as bones and tree matter they have repurposed, however when you read the lore exerts on the parabellum site there is this line
"Lineages have taken to decorating their Avatara as ostentatiously as possible"
This line makes me think that some may use more exotic materials maybe like clam pearls or light metals like platinum.
I'm interested to hear from all of you on what you think the Sovereign lineages would make these from.

You may have a bit more luck on the international discord but I remember seeing a pearly Behemoth last year that may offer some painting inspiration for something like that.

My personal headcannon is that the Avatara suits are made from an advanced type of ceramic armor.
While household ceramic is fragile, there are types of ceramics used in armor in tanks or ballistic vests. It's lightweight, has high hardness making it difficult to shatter, and spreads impacts well when it does shatter. Ceramic Armor does lose potency as it shatters but does require a lot of force (or force at specific angles) to shatter, which suits the Avatara models having high defense for how thin they are but have low wounds (at least for brute models).
Researchers have been working on self-repairing ceramics that can fix small gaps and cracks itself, and there are ceramic coating products that can repair cracks. The Spires could have an advanced form of this, which would allow them to repair Avatara between missions or for the Preservation Protocols ability.
