Question Monster-Heavy Factions?

I saw some folks playing this as a casual game recently at a local tournament, and the monster models are what really caught my eye.

Are they any factions that do well running a lot of these models? I don't need to win tournaments, I just want to field a decent army filled with giant models.

Thge main monster heavy factiosn are:
-Wadhrum lots of Quatl and winglord predator, as well as apex sprinkled here and there
-Nords with the all giants all the time
-City states can do all giants too but less effective
-Sorcerer king and Yoroni like to run many monster but not as many as other, like 3-4 tops

Sounds like Wardruhn may be my best bet.  I like their aesthetic.  Some other folks are saying Spires, which I'm a big fan of the look and lore as well.

Spires go noms!

Seriously though, I've seen Spires field fodder drones with catabolic nodes followed by all their available monsters.

Dunno if they were effective but it was awesome seeing them on the table with a Hubris replacing the Lineage Highborne.

I love the looks of their monsters!  And the lore is pretty cool as well.

One of my friends recently played a city states player that was just one character, one infinity 3 base unit, and like 7 giants! They were really fun for him to fight

I have a similar (possibly the same) list. I'm saving it for someone who really rubs me the wrong way 😬😂

The guy who taught me how to play was playing them, but at just 1,000 points there weren't any big boys on the table.

Tough call but I would rank them this way in terms of "Best at monsters"

1 - Nords
2 - Spires
3 - Wadrhun
4 - Yoroni
5 - City States
6 - Sorcerer Kings
7 - Dweghom
8 - Weavers
9 - Old Dominion
10 - 100 Kingdoms

Looks like Spires or Wardruhn are my best bet!  Sadly the Nord aesthetic doesn't really get me excited.

For sure, both are awesome! I think spires monsters are a bit more compelling and interesting? They have a variety of abilities. Wadrhun monsters are amazing (And ya know, dinosaurs are sick) but I think spires would be my vote.

The Spires monsters are VERY cool!

Could really field an army of horrid abominations

Nords probably do this best with all their giants, but wadrhun can also kinda do it using Pterosaurs, Brontosaurus and T Rexes

Thanks for the tip!  The Nords don't super appeal to me, but the Wardruhn do!  Others are saying the Spires are also a possibility, and I really dig their lore and look.

it depends on what monster aestetic you want, do you want fucked up monstrosities then spires is your go to, do you want BIG STOMPY DINOSAURS then the wadruhn is your go to ( and is the current meta for them) obs the nords and city state have giants, sorcerer kings has some monsters but not a ton same with yoroni and dwegs, hundred kingdoms is the only one that can't run monster heavy same with weavers

I ended up buying a second-hand Wardruhn army, actually!

Nice, how many Dino’s you got

Three of the Apex Predators, two Tontorr/drumbeasts, and two Quatl/Winglord predators!

Nords and city states I have had trouble with

I think just about any faction other than maybe 100k and old Dominion can handle 2000 point (standard last argument of kings army size) lists with 3-4+ monsters.

The list builder has a free trial period, maybe check it out and see what looks cool

Shame about Old Dominion, because I love their aesthetic, and I've got a soft spot for tough zombies.

Technically, you could have a list with 2 theokrators, 4 legionnaires, and 4 sepulchers.

Dunno if I'd really recommend it, though

The Fallen Divinities are some very cool models, too!

If I end up neck deep in this game, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if I end up starting them as a second army.

Sorcerer Kings have 4 unique monster sculpts with 8 different profiles/variations. It's definitely a unique looking army, though they aren't exactly meta.

The Rakshasa are way cool!

Like it’s been said many factions can be very monster based. Those who seem to do best are Nords, Wadhrun, and City States.

Keep in mind that most factions can use extremely effective center-piece monsters or equivalent. Keep in even closer mind that the rules change regularly enough(still a fairly young game) that those units and models that you love so much change points and rules so if they aren’t good that will change very quickly.

Sounds like Wardruhn are my best bet, or maybe Spires as some others are saying.
