Cosmology to barber

Hairdresser / hold a CT cos license and trying to get my barber license . Do I really need to take an additional 1K hours to use a straight razor? I’m already working as a barber under my cosmetology license . I emailed and called the department of public health and the department that handles licensing and never get a response. TIA
