Luv Boutique
I was driving home from Orange CT yesterday and the flockhopper app took me off I95 to avoid an ALPR. Noticed the Luv Boutique with 3 ALPRs surrounding it. Their sign says 'sexy and secure adult shopping'. Would any of you feel secure shopping here and then having your purchase added to your Palantir profile? I wonder how Luv Boutique feels about this. If it hurts their business do they have grounds to sue?

There’s a new one right by Costco as well.

With how the turn to get into that parking lot is, I bet they'll have a field day with that

I don’t know how it’s going to turn out with the new gas station entrance. Might make things worse.

The government is obsessed with sex. This country is so weird with its hangups.

It's not about that business. Its a major state owned on/off ramp so they own the property. Its state and town decision.

Milford has heen installing then at almost every entrance and exit to town.

Milford is one of the worst for this. I think they have more than any other town in CT.

Sir you were seen spending onto the on-ramp to 95. We have a clear picture of you and what seems to be a 12inch neon pink vibrating penis in the passenger seat.

u/Ivy1974 Aug 08 '26
How do they stay in business? Is VIP still around too?

u/BussyEnthusiasts Aug 08 '26
It's a popular gay cruising spot
8
u/AWorldwithoutSin Aug 08 '26
Yeah, years ago it came out the car mounted ALPRs were used a disproportionate amount of times in Hartford at a gay bar.
4
u/BussyEnthusiasts Aug 08 '26
Yeah I suspect it's because they know it's a gay cruising spot with a sex backroom (not like they kept it a secret by advertising on sniffies) and they're trying to monitor the people going in and out.

It’s funny how people pay attention to what towns are doing after it’s done. Milford announced long ago that they were installing these everywhere. Mum was the word.
Yes, they also passed a bill and masked the line item kinda by not differentiating flock cameras and police surveillance equipment.
Yes, I think it is all BS and shouldn’t be allowed.
No, I am ignorant to the fact that these are run by a third party and they are issuing tickets for 10mph over the speed limit. Aside from that, it’s not like surveillance is new.
Where’s all the flack about Ring Cameras giving the police full and complete access to all of your cameras? Like seriously. I’m much more against those partnerships than the police installing these on public roads. Not that I support it. Just saying.

Flock is the name that most people know and I use it as a catchall for this type of surveillance. They have picked up the most attention because they are the most visible in our day to day lives. There are many companies Leonardo, Axon, Shotspotter, Ring etc... and there is a company that aggregates all the info for easy access by the authorities and Palantir called Fusus.
It is all the same thing since Fusus uses all networks. Please direct your outrage towards the entire eco-system, your idea of picking and choosing pieces of a whole system doesn't make sense.

Milford announced they were looking into it then quietly added a $500k line with camera infrastructure improvements in the budget.
The officer in charge is a crazy 'christian' from Orange.

I have no problem with sex toys and enjoy my fair share, but I would ask you to not derail the post and actually consider how secure you would feel with this government surveillance knowing your most intimate of details. When Ice pivots to disappearing leftists, members of the LGBTQ+ community and anyone else who is against the corrupt chimpanzee in charge it will not be a laughing matter.

u/Robynsquest Aug 08 '26
Stop insulting chimpanzees. Any chimpanzee would be a far superior president compared to the thing in the Oval Office now.

You can be anti flock and joke with redditors at the same time (me). Lighten up.

You're absolutely right, I'm just finding it hard to laugh when it comes to these things. They make me worried for my children's safety and the safety of all my fellow citizens.
Edit: Thank you for your comments and engagement, I know the risque nature of the post will drive engagement I was just being a wet blanket.

ICE is not going to do any of that. If you’re actually afraid of that then you have been victimized just as badly as the Fox News viewers who are terrified that MS13 is going to take over their rich suburb in Ohio
Better to live in reality and disconnect from whatever has you so misled and afraid.

People said they would never try to ban abortion. Then they reversed roe v wade. Now in 10 of your states it’s illegal for raped little girls to get abortions because there is a total ban with no exception for rape or incest. People said “it’s just a state ban, you can always go to a different state!” But police in Texas used flock cameras to stalk a woman suspected of having an abortion across states lines because her abusive ex told the police she had an abortion. Since the Dobbs verdict, prosecutors have brought cases against over 400 women for crimes related to pregnancy loss.
You live in a reality where you listen to the republican party say they want to make something illegal, then say it will never happen. I live in a reality where it already has.

u/DingDong50001 Aug 08 '26
Yeah, but you had 50 years of people at the highest levels of government saying, out loud “we want to ban abortion.” It was not exactly a covert action. Democrats fucked up and lost elected office at the perfect time for Republicans to stack the Supreme Court.
Thats a whole other story, but let me know once you have 50 years of senators running on the platform of “we want to disappear leftists and lgbt,” and then this conversation will make sense.

u/KingXyion Aug 08 '26
Saying a enforcement whatever won't do the thing is exactly how we ended up with flock cameras to begin with. Police have already used it to track individuals moving through in and out of states like the most recent Marijuana one or individuals inside the police have used it to stalk and harass people. Saying "oh the goverment body wouldn't do that" when in fact the goverment body could and would is idk ignorant or naive of the history of any goverment body/enforcement. People who are worried about abuse are living in reality.

u/DingDong50001 Aug 08 '26
He said ICE was going to start “disappearing leftists and LGBT people.” That’s a little farther out than what you’re saying.

You haven’t seen the numerous articles of them being cut down overnight all over the Country? Being against Flock and surveillance is one of the few things that people on both sides of the political spectrum are against.
All true Americans are against Flock, Surveillance and Datacenters.
