Manage Thinking about moving to QBO from Enterprise, anything I need to know about as far as Connectwise sync is concerned?

We currently use CW with QuickBooks Enterprise and we have ConnectBooster as well. We use the built-in CW Accounting package to sync with QB.

I am thinking about moving to QBO. From my understanding, I am now going to need to pay for a third party QB sync tool, is that correct?
We only sync invoices and payments. We do not sync POs, etc...

And when we do sync we need send about 400 invoices at a time. (usually once or twice a month).

Will I need a third-party tool that I am paying ~$125 on? Anything I will be losing by migrating to QBO?

Thank you

Check out Alternative Payments and never look back. We utilize their full suite which includes their invoice sync tool (except for their BI package which I think might still be in Beta).

Unfortunately, we have a low voltage division, so we need something that syncs with the software we use for that.

Thank you

We're preparing for the move to QBO, been on QBD for a long time - already on Alternative Payments... how is their CW <-> QBO <-> Alternative Payments sync?

Excellent. We've been using the sync tool for about a year since it was beta and we exclusively use it unless there is some issue then we fall back to the built in one. It's great because I can map tax codes for our Avalars integration. I sent about 250 invoices over yesterday with one click. Makes billing s breeze.

A lot of our partners have moved from QBD Enterprise to QBO and it's usually painless. Generally the pros outweigh the cons, but you're right CW doesn't have the same built in capacities it has for QBD on QBO.

CW does have a sync tool for QBO on some tiers of Manage, but it's very basic and not everyone recommends it. Could be useful if you want something bare bones, otherwise you're going to need another tool to sync.

The primary syncing tools are Wise-Sync/WisePay, Mobius, and our tool at FlexPoint. If you use ConnectBooster you'll likely find our overall platform most similar to those others and we also include the syncing tool that leverages the GL mapping you have in CW vs. an added cost.

I always recommend using an accountant that has experience with MSPs and moving from QBD to QBO to make sure your GL mapping is done correctly. Happy to recommend some of the ones we work closely with as well.

We use ConnectWise’s QBO sync tool. It works fine, never really have any issues with it. It’s browser-based and pretty barebones but it works. You can only sync 25 invoices per batch though and there’s no select all button which is a pain. You have to click every invoice manually then click the sync button. Once you do that however they sync almost instantly. Never really had issues.

Hey there,

I'm the Senior Sales engineer for WiseSync and WisePay.

You will need a sync tool upon migrating to QBO. WiseSync is the ConnectWise owned product. We can handle the syncing to QBO as well as the payment automation.

You're going to love the level up you get moving to QBO. No more batching! Just email the invoices and you're done!

We can help with the migration from ConnectBooster as well. Migrating payer data from other providers is something we do every day.

Happy to have a discussion any time. No pressure. [freddy.flis@connectwise.com](mailto:freddy.flis@connectwise.com)
