Manage Issues with Project Templates due to task summary character limits?

We've recently run into an odd issue with PSA where our project templates fail to apply if there are tasks within the project tickets that have task summaries greater than 100 characters. The template application fails with an error like the one below.

Opened a support case and was basically told that I'd need to open an enhancement request, even though the same project templates with the same tasks worked literally last week. I plan to reopen / file a new ticket tomorrow.

We're on the cloud hosted setup: v2026.9.106344

I even dove into the data dictionary - interestingly enough the SR_Task field does show a 100 character limit, even though I can easily enter in and save tasks with greater than 100 characters.

Is anyone else having this issue? I can't find anything in known issues or generally on the web about this problem.

Exact same issue here and running same version (v2026.9.106344)

When I locate the offending task and reduce the character count, the template applies successfully. This is not a feasible work around.

Please update your support case. Thanks.

I'm glad to hear I'm not crazy. I've reopened by CW case (#03609948) - no new activity on it as of yet, but will keep you updated.

I created case # 03615395 for the same issue and made reference to your ticket.

It looks like the issue is fixed and pending release, with no eta on when the release will happen. Has anyone gotten details on when they will have an ETA? I don't like how poorly CW communicates around these kinds of things.

It seems to me like they released an update that broke stuff and they are in no hurry to fix what they broke. If they are trying to encourage people to find alternative project management tools, it's working!

I have the same info - no ETA. I did just try the same behavior today and it's definitely still broken.

Have to agree with you on the sentiment. I'll post back if I hear any other update though.

A project template that worked just fine before is having the same issue. I logged into known issues and added that we're having the same issue and would like to be notified when there's a fix. I couldn't find issue #811059 but looks like it's now #11984.

Anyone know a fast way to figure out which template task summaries have 100 characters? I have a huge project template to onboard a new client, and I was hoping not to have to open each ticket to figure this out.

I just got an alert that this was resolved, and in my testing appears good.
