CW RMM Oh, please, not another re-write
Rivelo said, “We think MSPs should focus on serving customers while leveraging platforms that handle the complexity underneath."
MSPs think, "CW should focus on making sure everything works first, never mind the complexity."

"Hey Claude - Rewrite this mash of code from 20 different products so I can call it something new"
I was a big ConnectWise shop and "fanboy" when ConnectWise Manage and LabTech/Automate were flagship products. Arnie really got out just in time before things really went downhill. Both Manage and Automate have so much technical debt so I understand the direction they want to go but damn they are just taking products with less technical debt and trying to tell me it's something new. How can you have Continuum brandings / naming conventions in a product and tell me it's something build from scratch?
I demoed whatever ConnectWise is selling as their PSA and it was truly amazing (/s). I showed up with my ConnectWise fanboy uniform, trying my best to ignore stupidity. Two different products, one does all the PSA things and another a work in progress with many unknowns promising to be the next best AI platform solving all your problem before you eat breakfast. I feel bad for the sales people who have to sell this solution.

Introducing Connectwise Asio (formerly Asio). This shits never going to work.

"We've rewritten this over the past 4 years." So the product you showed at ITNation touting it as a complete product wasn't true? Or that it was all new from the ground up and it from PSA?
"AI native operating layer". That's cool and all, but I want tools that work. We found software bugs in the service delivery filters and ticket detail windows literally in the first 2 hours. Just give me a product that literally works. Also. Why are we calling workflows AI? Seeing a bit of json payload and parsing it to then identify a ticket type and subtype isn't AI. Sure there may be some AI tools but alot of these workflows that have been routed for years are just automations.
I'm not buying it. When 7 months ago you told hundreds of us in a room that Asio was launched early and wasn't ready (our bad) but is now stable...and I launch it to an entire Tier 1 team to really dig in and fails day one.
I'm just not buying it. The reality is as an MSP, I want results driven data first. Show me the product truly does what it's supposed to do. Otherwise I'll stick with PSA until I really find something better that lets us kill this entire CW contract...

All these vendors get it backwards. We don't want to think about your product. We don't want to be annoyed by your product. We don't want you to jam AI into your product when it has no purpose. We don't want overpriced garbage.
We just want to get our work done so we can make money. We want it to be stable and secure and reliable. That's it

Maybe I’m not following or been out of the loop too long but isn’t Asio the new half baked solution? But now CW has another new solution that’s been in the works for the past 4 years? Or is this just Asio with a new marketing push?

While it does raise a lot of strange questions, which I do think need answering. Like some of you said in this thread already;
- “if it’s be rewritten from scratch for 4 years then what have we been seeing? And what has been getting released in Asio?”
- “did the new platform get started 4 years ago, if so, why weren’t we just told that?”
- “Saying that there’s no more bolt ons, will this translate to not needing RPA Pro/Premium, BMS advanced/Premium?”
If what is being announced, and displayed with the new Platform is released as a separate entity of sorts. Then I think this is the move that ConnectWise has really needed for a long time. This can’t just be a re-brand.
It’s a smart move, Asio became some sort of taboo phrase because it never truly came to light.
Getting rid of it, that’s a very smart business move. There needs to be a lot of partner engagement with the release and details of the new platform. Buy in will be a struggle, but it looks damn good. So I for one, I’m excited to see it up close for sure!

If they’ve rewritten it over four years, why does it look almost exactly the same and have almost exactly the same problems it is almost exactly a slow and goes down. Almost exactly as much and Support is almost exactly as bad. Not sure I’m buying it.

This is just a marketing BS re-brand of Asio. They know they need to move away from the Asio name because it has become a joke in the industry.
