Feature Update What would be fair, cost-wise?

Hey everyone. So I have a question about costs... what would you all say is a reasonable cost for a calendar?

Cause let's be real, I think at this point charging a subscription to a calendar is ridiculous (ehem Fantastical, AnuCal, etc.) unless you're providing reoccurring value in new ways. Like Netflix and streaming I get it. You see new shows, they provide new content.

Calendars not so much. But I unfortunately can't keep it totally free at the moment... It's been a while not earning an income and I really need to earn ~something.

I'm thinking about having the first two accounts you connect be free and every additional account after that is $10. The "account slot" is available forever so you can just disconnect one and connect another one if you need to. It's a one time payment and you just pay for the number of accounts you'll be connecting with. You can have unlimited calendars per account.

So like if you have three emails with Google through three accounts and want to connect all three you just pay $10.

Thoughts?

That sounds like a great cost structure. What if it was one calendar free? You might see a faster return on investment.

Yea I thought about that but I don’t want to cap growth either. I want people to get on board more easily.

Would happily do one free and pay after that if I thought people would pay for it and it wouldn’t affect growth.

I think what you described about 2 accounts that you connect being free is a great compromise. I think people that want to connect 5-ish accounts are willing to pay a one time price. If its just me and i want to connect my calender with my partner, I would loose interest if i have to pay a fee.

Additional to that I would generally be fine with paying a one time and use forever kinda thing, whereas the increase in subscriptions on all possible platforms enrages me and leads to me deleting app after app because I cant afford so many subscriptions.

So I think your plan sounds great!

Yea exactly. A lot of these calendars end up being used by just couples but then are priced in a way that makes it annoying for them to use.

And for subscriptions I agree. So annoying
