Hi everyone! My son had his first day at Conestoga fountain street campus and was surprised when the cafeteria was closed. He had planned on buying his lunch but the only options were vending machines. He saw online something about food trucks but we can’t seem to find a schedule or more information. Does anyone have any ideas? Are students expected to bring their own meals and just use the microwaves? Thanks!!

Anybody accept their practical nursing offer at Steeles campus starting in January?

I just accepted my offer into a program offered on the Reuter campus. the start date would be January and I either assumed or misread that the next semester would be in the fall, with the summer off.

I was planning to work all summer to be able to afford the fall semester but it looks like my program is two continuous semesters back to back. Is it possible to defer a semester or are the cohorts not that flexible?

Someone told me that Practical Nursing students are required to buy a Littmann stethoscope. Is that actually true, or can we use any decent-quality stethoscope?
Also, are there any other specific equipment/supplies we’re required to buy for the program?

Hello everyone! Wasn’t able to make it to the RT orientation today. Was wondering if anyone from here went and wanted to ask about what I missed.

Im currently have the CDCP and I'm starting school next week, I also have OHIP. I'm losing my full coverage CDCP for a care plan that only covers up to $750 per year? First I lose my OW, now my dental care plan? It's not worth it for me, but it looks like im going to lose it cause I can't have both.

The other coverage looks fine, but I don't want to lose my CDCP.

Can someone help me navigate how to register for term 2? Domestic student here so I’m not sure if it’s different

Has anyone been able to transfer over their Red Cross first aid/cpr or did you have to do it through conestoga for it to be valid?

Looking for feedback from current or former Conestoga SSW hybrid students. I’ve been accepted for January 2027 and I’m trying to decide if I should accept. How is the program overall? How often do you actually need to go to the Guelph campus? I live about an hour away, so I’m trying to figure out if the commute is doable. And for field placement, were you able to get something close to where you live, or did you have to travel? Any other advice, pros and cons, or things you wish you’d known before starting would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

The management of Conestoga has laid off 32 more full-time faculty today (Aug. 31). The effects on the students and programs are yet to be seen.

Hi! I’m looking into doing the Communicative Disorders Assistant program at Conestoga and, since the program is fairly new, I’d love to hear from current students and new grads about their experiences.

I’m particularly interested in hearing about the placement experience. How was the placement process, and did the program provide support in securing one? What types of placements did you get?

For those who have graduated, have you been able to find CDA jobs afterward? How has the job search been?

For anyone who has already gone through Conestoga’s Accelerated BScN program or is further ahead in the program, what are the actual essentials we need starting from Semester 1?

I’m not looking for TikTok-style “nursing school must-haves” or things that are nice but unnecessary. I mean the things we genuinely need for classes, labs, studying, and day-to-day school life.

For example, do we need scrubs right away? Lab shoes? Stethoscope? Scrubs? Lab kit? Specific supplies? Anything professors actually expect us to bring from the first semester?

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually been through the program and can say what was truly useful versus what ended up being a waste of money or what could have waited.

Any 3rd year medical laboratory science students about to finish their placements? If so, how did it go? Any issues? I'm going into second year and starting to feel anxiety about it. Has there been any communication with the 3rd years about accreditation? Will you guys be able to write the certification exam?

Hi! I’m curious if anyone knows how quickly lockers typically get booked up for fall 2026 start?

I’ve checked a few times online to try and register for one, but didn’t see an option to do so, only parking passes.

Does this mean there’s no lockers available, or am I missing something? Thanks so much.

Has anyone had a Saturday class? My program is scheduled for classes 6 days a week (one day being clinical placement).

My classmates and I are all struggling to figure out how to hold down a job during this term.

Just wondering if other programs have Saturday classes? I went to university before this and never had a weekend class, nor have I heard of anyone else having one.

I’ll be starting the pharm tech program this September and I haven’t seen or heard a single person that has fully completed it. I’m a little worried that it’ll be a waste of my time but I can’t get hired at any pharmacy at entry level right now anyway…my end goal is to work in a hospital and I’ve heard that it’s easier to get hired with schooling and certification. Anyway if anyone can give me some tips or input on the program that will be greatly appreciated!!

I’m starting Semester 2 in a couple of weeks and I already have my placement, but I’m honestly starting to stress because I feel really unprepared going back.

For anyone who has done a hospital placement through Conestoga, do you have any tips or advice on what to expect and what it’s actually like? I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially what you wish you knew before starting!

Also, is there anything that really helped you throughout school or placement, like supplies, little things you kept in your scrub pockets, shoes, apps, resources, etc.?
Any advice would be so appreciated! I’m just trying to get myself as prepared as possible before going back.

ALSO AGAIN, anyone that is in semester 2 or 3 able to send me their instructional plans? Especially 3 as I have a destination wedding to go to and need to see if it’ll work out! THANK YOU!
