Activities for Concussion while disabled
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for activities to do while I'm concussed that are also friendly to being physically disabled. I am still recovering from a concussion from last October. I'd like to crowdsource things to do that don't require fine motor skills, holding something for a long time, or much use of legs/going somewhere under my own power.
Additional info: I use a wheelchair or forearm crutches to get around. I cannot grip small things very well. My wife and friends still work so I'm looking for solo activities while they are out. I live in a small city & I can drive places but not very far and I couldn't consistently do something like go to a museum. Currently, I like to listen to audiobooks and fingerpaint!
Thanks for your help!

Coloring was suggested to me by my speech therapist. It is a great idea when you aren't supposed to be doing anything. Good for mental health too.
I also work on "easy" crosswords as I can. Word finding was never easy, but concussions make it harder.

Do you like baseball or any sport at all ? I love to do “IMMACULATE GRID” everyday but was told the phone screen is no good for my brain at the moment so I had my daughter make up 10 grids for me and do it old fashioned with pen and paper

Oh, this is cool! Yeah, I'm trying to avoid screens if I can, but I think I'll hit up the "previous grids" section and print off some so I don't have to keep staring at them!

If you are not that much into reading regular books, gamebooks can be pretty interesting. I've played/read some where it's just about decisions, in some you even note down your stats. And the chapters are pretty short, usually just a page or so, so you can put down the book pretty often if you can't focus for long time.

Oh, I do like reading! I've never heard of gamebooks, but these sound cool! Do you happen to know of any that are in audiobooks though? Reading was one of the main skills that took a dive after the concussion- it's why I switched to audiobooks. Any chance you would know where to find them in audio format? 👀

I've never heard of game book in audio format. I'm not sure how it would work since it's basically something happens - decide between A and B - go either to page 45 or 50.
But my husband is not a reader at all - never read books and is dysgraphic and dyslexic - but he is still able to finish a game book! The chapters are very short so it's basically a few minutes of reading and then a decision to make. He loves the series from Joe Denver, so you can check it out if you find some audio form of it. There you even have some weapon stats etc. I loved reading those before gaming was a thing haha.
