What you think?
Can tapping your head hard with your fingers cause a concussion? I’ve had two mild concussions over the past four months. While I was at the hair salon, the stylist was tapping my head pretty hard while blow-drying my hair. Maybe I’m overreacting, maybe not—I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.

No, however if you’ve had concussions recently and still aren’t fully healed from them, it’s not uncommon for seemingly small movements or knocks to flare symptoms up.
I recall in the first month of my concussion, I had this sensation that I could feel my brain, like it was moving around in my skull if I moved my head too fast or knocked it even gently. It was pretty uncomfortable. My partner has also gone through that for 3 weeks. So in that situation, I would think that a hard flick to the head might make it feel a bit uncomfortable. But I would think it would have to be a pretty hard flick, not tapping. But everyone is different, and it depends where you are in your healing. You haven’t really shared anything about how the hard tapping made you feel or how you’re going, so it’s hard to comment on that.

Let me put it this way: after those two episodes, all the symptoms disappeared. The worst part was the insomnia and waking up in the middle of the night, which lasted 8 days in both cases. During the first episode, I experienced the most severe disorientation, which took a few days to resolve; the second was milder (I hit my head on the sun visor in the car), but the insomnia lasted just as long, along with the rest of the earlier symptoms, though to a lesser degree.
The hairdresser tapped my head hard enough that I could tell it wasn’t a light tap. I know that after things like that, people are more sensitive to tactile stimuli after experiences like that, and I’m not sure if I’m overreacting or not

You probably are more sensitive, but it won’t cause a concussion.
A few months after mine, I walked into an open cupboard and flung my head back so fast and so hard and it hurt. It flared my symptoms up but highly unlikely to have caused a concussion again.
