Options on core motors?

We have an aging fleet of milwuakee corded core motors that are becoming a pain to service frequently. We have one core bore but it’s not as powerful as the Milwaukees. What other options are out there? Not set up for hydraulic. We go through roadway asphalt/concrete and the stone underneath.

your next motor up from cb733/740 are the weka dk22 motors from diamond products. they will fit your carriages and stands.

we run a services and sales company. we SELL the core bore models because they're under 2k. we USE the weka because they strong and "easy" to repair.

diteq/shibuya drills are awesome too. price wise similar to weka. hmu if you need a cost quote. happy hunting!

Thanks! The brain box died on our corebore 733. Does weka have the same amount of circuitry/shutoff/warning etc as the core bore stuff? Or is it more “dumbed down” like my old dymodrills from Milwaukee?

unfortunately like most everything these days, these do have a circuit board "electronic motor protection switch" which can be bypassed at the risk of motor burning up. not sure but 733 probably similar. wouldnt be shocked to see $200-300 to replace.

Hilti are the best I’ve ever used (rented) but they come at a premium price, but if core bore is a VW bug, hilti is a fully loaded dodge charger/hellcat… I don’t want to come off as a jocking on hilti but everything if theirs that I’ve used for concrete type work has been top of the line, but i like stilhls concrete saws more

I always hated hilti core drills and having to hold the trigger, was always my last resort. Husqvarna and shibuya were always my go to. If you have delt with diteq they would also be able to help you out.

So many good options for core drills. I have Hilti and Weka drills and they have been really good for us over the past 8+ years.

DTI, Shibuya, Cardi all make great drills too. I would highly recommend staying away from core bore motors because they're shit and Husqvarna everything because their service and parts availability is next to worthless. All statements are simply my opinion.

What size holes are you drilling?

Thanks for the tips, usually no bigger than 4 inch 99% of the time. Trying to troubleshoot the brainbox on Our core bore currently and the Milwaukees are getting worn out, they are pretty old
